Cardiff City vs. Manchester United

Rooney should have been off...but him scoring after will drive all the ABUs nuts...especially our lovable scousers. hope a number of them try and kill themselves by diving into the filthy Mersey.

about time they had a shower anyways.

well....that escalated quickly

Hernandez, Januzaj and Clev had absolute shockers so far. Those corners and free kicks really are keeping us alive this season.

I don't know if City winning 6-0 at home warps peoples expectations but let's not forget that they lost at Cardiff and we'll happily take 3 points without 3 of probably our 4 most important players. Neither Fellaini nor Cleverley has been particularly poor, in fact, other than being overly penalised by the ref, Fellaini has done his job perfectly well.
They've been okay on the ball, shite off of it though. Neither does anything to open themselves up to receive a pass. Most of a midfielders job is done off the ball, opening yourself up to receive easy passes from teammates to keep possession and relieve pressure. Neither of them even try to do that.

Rooney was magnificent 1+1.. Red card for that??! feck off, go watch the Portuguese League if you think that..

You don't understand the rules of football. You think there are different rules in England? Like yeh you can take a chunk of someone in the first few mins of a game....but don't do it again or you are in trouble?

Not too happy with our midfield again. They aren't supplying the forwards well enough or pushing forward to make further options in attack. Cleverley and Fellaini can't be content just to keep things ticking over. There's a real lack of penetration in our play which is why Hernandez and Rooney have had very few openings. Januzaj also has been ineffective compared to Valencia. He's been struggling to produce anything from the left. Luckily we've got back in front so he's likely to start the second half.

Must do better.

Shocking behaviour from Rooney to be honest. No-one with any common sense than try and defend that kick

sorry but Hernandez barely had any time on the ball, and the few chances he's had to be involved he's done well, got an assist to show for it as well...Januzaj had a bad half, no doubt. However I think people are overreacting when it comes to him, atleast he's trying and not shying away, kind of reminds me of a special someone....our midfield has been non-existent, and Smalling has just been terrible.

Especially in Cleverley's case, I think he's really lacking confidence and match fitness. Fans can't have it both ways - moan about him until he's dropped and then when he comes in for the odd game, moan that he isn't looking his sharpest. No doubt we miss Carrick massively though, which was inevitable.

United are lucky to be ahead but it's the old plan B that gets us another goal. We scored a ridiculous amount of headed goals from set-pieces last season.

The usual slow build-up play and poor movement isn't helping us though,

3 of our 4 most important players missing I'll take 3 points today no matter. feck performance right now with Arsenal, Chelsea and City winning..

Well they've been very average, but again what else can we expect from them, they're average players. The good thing is we are showing fight in games these days, which we didn't show at the start of the season. Our football is still crap, but it has been for years, and will be until Moyes sorts out the midfield.

It's so nerve wrecking listening to the radio, we sound lackluster and lucky to be infront.

As long as we get the points, we can bugger the cardiff dragon with a fish knife for all i care

Only watching post their equalizer. How the play has been generally in the first half?

It was probably one of scholes' attributes actually. Also a reason why I don't mind seeing Anderson play. He always opens himself up to receive the ball and can run with it really well, something none of our midfielders can do.

Spot on, it's been my gripe with Utd midfielders (bar Carrick) for a while now. They're like afraid to make themselves available and it forces the CBs to just hoof it up.

Hernandes needs to hold the ball up much better, smalling has been rubbish when he attacks and I just wish cleverley would grow some balls and starr getting involved more than just playing backwards or sideway passes.

Yep but when Cleverley is in the team it's like having a 15year old boy playing for us!

Ronaldo? Nah Ronaldo was a totally different player to Januzaj.
Anyway Hernandez got the assisst yeah and he almost got no service from our shocking midfield but when he actually had to hold up the ball he lost it.

Rightly so.

Well not if you like professional coverage. He should have gone, the ref made a mistake. There have been countless reffing errors this weekend alone, why is everyone acting as if Rooney has taken a baton out of his sock and beaten someone within an inch of their life?

Not at all. You are trying to say that Kagawa would have done better and to be honest, I am not so sure. As others have said, when the rest of our midfield is failing, it is good to see Januzaj try and do something, because Fellaini and Cleverley are offering feck all and we are losing the midfield battle against Cardiff. It is a good job we are not playing Real Madrid with this midfield, because we would lose. Another thing, it is amazing that you are not criticising Cleverley in this because he has done next to nothing of note.
