Pretty clear that she doesn’t give a crap about the cup competition. Home draw against the final is from last year Newcastle gonna make for a heck of a game.

Hopefully our game is on the Wednesday

Has to be, I guess. We play Citeh on the Sunday before. Newcastle will still have the extra day's rest.
7 out of 8 games at home is quite the feast for Old Trafford by the way.

Well you need to take a step back a couple of posts. The phrase is overused, but your previous post is quite literally a straw man argument. My post, and thoughts, are to do with the collective imposition on the mens game, which often has a subtext that it being a men's game loved and enjoyed by groups of men, without women, is somehow problematic. If you can't see that there is a constant, ongoing push to categorise the two sports as comparable - and the much repeated assertion that sexism or a simple lack of exposure or funding is what accounts for the chasm of quality difference between them - then that's fine, good for you. To me though, it is like many social issues imposed on sport in recent years - patronising, self-righteous and eroding the way the sport has been consumed and enjoyed for a long time in the name of a false version of progress.
"I just want women off my screen when I'm watching my footie".

Much shorter sentence, saves you time writing, other people reading and gets the same point across.

Was the draw fixed to make big teams playing against each other or at least premier league opponents?
in the third round, half of the teams were from lower divisions but all top team bar liverpool played against premier league teams
in the fourth round, 6/16 teams are from lower divisions, but we miraculously have two fixtures where two lower division teams playing against each other.

We go through, Arsenal and Liverpool lose and one hand is on the cup. Easy peasy.

Have a day off mate

Prefer to go through both of them. Just winning another carabao cup with easy fixtures again won't add much. We've already done that. Time to do it in style now.

This post would be very popular on RAWK, they love a conspiracy over there.

Screw that. I choose Port Vale and Ipswich over Pool and Arsenal any day of the week.

Of all the potential evidence for dodgy cup draws, you choose us drawing Newcastle at home in the fourth round?
No, there's a list as long as my johnson. Basically it's not to do with doing over United, it's to do with maximising TV rights/revenue in my weird opinion.

I'm so cynical that I actually believe they do this so they can promote higher profile matches through each round to maximise viewership.

After watching our game last night I’m all for VAR. It’s almost like the refs have forgotten how to officiate.

Broja given offside despite being about 3 yards into his own half when he makes the run. Jackson goal chopped off with 3 players playing him onside.

And how the referee didn’t send off Ugochukwu is beyond belief. A high tackle on the shin, whilst already on a yellow. A blatant red card tackle and got lucky.

Ref and linemen were horrendous.

The 2 other instances you talk about weren't showed in the highlights, but this one, from the match recap, didn't seem to be as you portray it. Seems like there's maybe one player keeping him onside, and even then it's a really tight one. The kind of decision that happens without VAR.

Overall, seems you were quite lucky last night, Brighton had some incredible chances and were massively wasteful.

Given the choice between having all lower league opponents in our cup draws or all home ties I choose home ties every time.

We’ve had 12th successive home draws, there’s no way we can complain.
The probability of 12 successive home draws is 0.0244%, it's actually insane

Though if it was rigged, we wouldn't rig it to get Newcastle. Unless that's what they want you to think so it doesn't look too obvious!

That's ridiculous. Problem is they're so shit they can't even use VAR properly.

The games flowed yesterday. No stops or time wasted with VAR and anything that was called wrong was forgotten about right away. The way it was meant to be.

Does anyone know when the dates will be conformed for the Newcastle match? Tickets to go on sale tomorrow it appears.

Quarter-finals

19/12/23

Everton 19:45 Fulham
Port Vale 19:45 Middlesbrough
Chelsea 20:00 Newcastle United

20/12/23

Liverpool 20:00 West Ham United

Weird game for us this. We have a tough schedule over Christmas with Spurs and City our next two in the league and we are struggling a bit with injuries at the moment. It's a great opportunity for the clubs in our game and the Middlesbrough/Port Vale one to get to the final aswell if we draw each other in the Semi.

Would be best to go for it. Everton are in no danger for relegation this season.

Looks like we are still going with the 3/5 at the back. Due to injuries. Look forward to seeing Harrison as the 10.

Newcastle being 7/2 to win tonight is mad, given our home form.

Apart from the Brentford defeat your results at home haven't been too bad since September. Both to score and Newcastle to win @7/1 I'm on anyway.
