He's not for you. Fair enough, I think he's hilarious but I'm always wary of other people's opinions on comedy/movies etc.

I've learned not to watch anything thinking it's going to be great or that other people have hyped up a lot. I refuse to watch trailers and tend to tell people now if you've recommended it then I'll give it a watch but stop talking about it or you'll ruin it for me.

I’m really only labouring the point because I also think he’s hilarious. I just think his humour doesn’t work when it’s rehearsed/scripted. I mention this in the context of Joe Lycett, who I also find funny so long as he isn’t doing stand up (or - spit - on a panel show)

Massively under appreciated show. It's genius,

Lycett is quite funny and has always been open about his bisexuality.

James Acaster is great and Bob Mortimer is a god.

This latest season is amazing. I’m having to spread the episodes out over as long a period as possible. I just like to know they’re still on the box, ready to watch, when I want to. They’re so precious to me. I’ll be devastated when I’ve watched them all.

No clue who this person is but I'm now going to watch him on youtube with a scowl on my face. That will show him!

If I end up liking him despite trying to hate watch him it's OPs fault. Might end up gaining him a least one new fan because of the thread, promoting him rather than cancellation.

I saw him in Dublin in the summer and thought he was brilliant. It was filmed too for Netflix.
