Calum Chambers

What the hell, this guy is the same age as me. Im sitting here at 5am doing feck all and hes playing for one of the biggest clubs in England.

This guy was in the year below me at school. We all thought he was stupid only coming in once a week... oops. Although he has absolutely stuck it to our headmaster who told him that he wouldn't amount to anything! So congrats on that, and all the money and living the dream I guess!

He will be a liability if he has to play in any big matches for Arsenal this season though. He's not there yet with his awareness defensively because he's only recently been converted to that position, occupying centre mid or right wing for England U'19s beforehand.

I hadn't realised he was that versatile.

Started out as an attacking midfielder, only really got shunted to right back as he got to his late teens. Think he'll end up as a centre half eventually, a good one at that.

Two impressive games at CB during the Emirates Cup for Chambers.

We're currently winning the transfer season. Chavs in 2nd and Poo close behind.
Diego Costa, Fabregas, Felipe Luiz and Drogba in plus David Lulz, Lukaku and Ba out giving them an overall profit? Think they are well ahead of anyone in the transfer stakes. Going well for Arsenal, though.

Yes, those outgoings really do swing it for them.

We've Stones and hopefully Jones or Smalling for the next years in that position

I like Flanagan but Chambers is even a bigger talent than Shaw imo....so i've hoped he would play RB for Arsenal after his transfer from Southampton

I think most of us thought he would too, especially once Jenkinson was loaned out.

However Wenger knows better, and our young RB Bellerin was mighty impressive against Benfica the other night (amazing really). Maybe he will be back-up RB. Though it was only a pre-season match, and the immediate query over him is his size.

I hope Mertesacker and Koscielny have a great season so Chambers must play RB ;)

Bellerin was great against Benfica BUT they were awful the whole tournament

The match against City will be interesting

Shaw - Stones - Jones - Chambers

Doesn't look too bad for Englands future.

England have a lot of talent coming through. The question is will they all take the next step to become the player their talent alludes to?

and will they have a national team manager who can utilise their talent?

 Huge praise. In what way ? Shaw is ridiculously good for his age.

To be fair, the last generations defensive talent was pretty great. Cole, Ferdinand, Terry, Campbell, Neville etc

My mum lives in Southampton....so i have seen Chambers in a lot of Southampton live games (First team and youth) in the last couple of years

I think Sterling and Stones are the best english talents but then Chambers is next on the list

He has everything what a defenders needs and he's a very smart player (I love this players like him or Mata)

But his height is just 6 ft 0 in.....so i think his best position is RB instead of CB

King, Brown and Carragher too (A shame the first too were so injury-prone)
