Not really as, just a couple of weeks ago, we were looking at a possible 10th. 8th is a poor finish, but by March was the best we could have expected, if not accepted.
 
I’ve just realised we were never higher than 6th at any point this season. A true mid-table season.
 
Worlds most expensive squad ….8th with a minus goal difference
 
Joint 5th place best defensive record in the EPL, based on goals conceded.

Considering the very poor defensive midfield cover, the devastation of our back line due to injuries and the amount of shots on and off target we conceded, that’s a feckin’ miracle.

Coming back to this post:
  1. Worst points total - salvaged. We got 60.
  2. Worst finish in the table: congrats to Erik ten Hag for guiding us to 8th, our new lowest position ever.
  3. Fewest goals scored: we also salvaged this - we got 57. Comfortable work.
  4. Most goals conceded: congrats again to Erik - we conceded 58.
  5. Fewest wins: we beat the allegations here. 18 wins.
  6. Most losses: did someone say recordbreaker? 14 losses.
  7. Worst goal differential: Ccccombo. -1 GD.
Ten hag broke four of seven of our worst records in the PL. Some doing.
