Gaming Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II

Okay but really, how many fecking updates can there be for a game that’s been out for 7 days?

Finally downloaded everything (I thought) this morning, and then got back from work, tried to fire up the campaign mode, and it tells me there’s another 28.42 GB update I have to download to be able to play it.

I’ve owned the game now for 24 hours and have played 1 game of multiplayer invasion.

Plenty bugs, map exploits in the game at the moment causing the regular updates.

Atleast they're Pro active with updates, unlike some games which may update once every 3 months even if they have game breaking bugs. Update sizes for COD are feckin mental though

They’ve turned off SBM and I am getting absolutely demolished  I know it’s not perfect but it does have a purpose

Why would they do that?

Because all the kids like playing people way below their skill level and getting great scores and huge K/D ratio's so they can brag about it and upload videos of how great they are.

They don't like playing similarly skilled players so the game is an actual challenge, that's the COD mentality.

The biggest issue with SBM is constantly changing lobbies. You get no momentum going and if you play with friends much better than you then you are personally fecked.

I'd love to go back to the lobbies that stayed together. Was so fun having close games and then reloading and going up against them again.

Did they do this last night because I was getting annihilated
It was recently. Loads of steamers were moaning and they turned it off. It’s not fun for the pros if they’re not demolishing everyone.

it’s stupid. I was just in a lobby where I absolutely annihilated everyone in between all the hammerings. Haven’t had a single game where I’ve felt like it’s been a fair match up.

Gave sniping a go last night since it seems OP. I picked off a few people but I think I only won a single face-off with another sniper. I can see on their kill cams how quickly and precisely they can hit the smallest part of me, it was mad.

I’ve been doing well compared to normal when the games just out. Usually grow into the game and become pretty good once all the better players feck off to another game/Warzone.

The snipers on invasion/ground war can go away though.

I’ve owned every COD since Big Red One and I’ve never had one this new have this many updates before I could even play the game. It’s unreal.

I’m just wanting to play the campaign :(
I haven't had a look but in previous (recent) CODS, you could modify the installation and keep only the campaign (and not the multiplayer) or uninstall the campaign when you have finished it to save some space. Not sure if when you do that you will still have to update the game when one comes out.

This one made me download like 6 “packs” of things before the game even opened… then once it did, all I could access was multiplayer because when I clicked campaign it then told me I had to download another “update pack” for that. And then once it’s done, if I want to play the 3 coop modes, I have to download more “packs” for that too.

Some maps are so open.

Respawn, get sniped, repeat.

EDIT: And then just had my best round so far. 23 kills and 10 deaths. Was on a 9 kill streak at the start combining both the sniper and the assault rifle running around.

Where you getting this from? Whenever there’s been relaxed sbmm modes like one of the Rebirth variants it’s been easier. The average on mw2019 and Warzone was 0.8kd so anything above that and you should be having a better time, if true, which I highly doubt to be honest. Most people aren’t streamer level good.

Anyone figured out how to set a weapon to full auto as default? Battle rifle I use always resets to semi auto and I get leathered because I forget to change it.

Managed to cop the ghillie suit skin from the Jack Link's promotion in the US. A kind soul sent me all the codes. They're going for £20 each on eBay and £60-80 for the set. Insane.

Looks like it'll be pretty handy for Warzone being a brown one.

Trying to level up some guns in order to unlock some others and it’s a lot harder to adjust once you’re used to one. Especially if the one you’re using has awful recoil. Should’ve had so many more kills but I wasn’t prepared for how much it kicks back.

Also the gun defaults to semi auto so I looked like a dumbass shooting one bullet at a guy and then just standing there

I’m either going on 5 killstreaks at a time or I’m dying 3 seconds after respawning. There is no inbetween.

Yesterday I had games which ended with a K/D of 4.5, 0.18, 3.3. One of those games was not enjoyable.

How does it compare to the 360 era games? I think I'm getting this for bday soon.

It feels pretty similar though I think the game modes have improved. I like that you can rise up the leaderboard by doing the objectives and it’s not just focused on KD. Feels mostly fair. I think snipers are OP but you’re always going to have the 360 no scope nerds.

Excellent stuff

Picked this up today but haven't played it yet. Any recommendations for settings adjustments?

Pretty much the same as me. Just so random. Some lobbies I’ll demolish people and others I’ll get demolished. Seems to be very rare to get one that’s in any way balanced with players around my level. It’s ridiculous that I’m in lobbies with maxed out players who already have all the perks and best weapons and attachments for them. They’ve clearly done a number on sbmm

I understand why they have this progression system to unlock guns and mods. But my issue with it is that it means you are at a marked disadvantage if you are a latecomer to the game.

Another reason I prefer Insurgency as everything is unlocked at the start, but you have a set number of points to allocate towards your gear. So each weapon, attachment, sidearm, explosive has a point value and you choose your preferred mix to create your own loadout. Some guns are 1 point, others are 3 points and you only have about 20 points.

It creates much more diversity and also means no one is at a disadvantage no matter how many hours they have played. The advantage you get from playing more is knowing the naps and improving your gameplay/tactics.

Every time I’m in a quick gun battle I hit the right stick causing me to melee, I had to change it to my Grenade button.

Finally someone else that has this problem. I do it every time. Same things happens on Halo too.
