Büttner on the way to Dinamo Moscow
Alexander Büttner continues his career at Dinamo Moscow, where he will sign a three-year contract as the medical examination does not pose Wednesday.

The 25-year-old left-back joins from Manchester United. Büttner considered not likely that he would be a lot. Far under new manager Louis van Gaal to play

"The coach has never given me the chance to Orange, while I to 'Man of the Match' I voted fourteen times at United," said the former player of Vitesse to De Telegraaf .

"But Van Gaal apparently doesn't see it in me, so in that respect I'm leaving just at the right moment."

Dinamo Moscow last season ended fourth in the Russian league, which participate in the Europa League yielded.

Douglas

Büttner is with his new employer, a teammate of Douglas, who came last year from FC Twente.

Other well-known players from Dinamo Moscow are under contract Kevin Kuranyi, Igor Denisov, Yuri Zhirkov and former PSV player Balazs Dzsudzsak.

Looks nailed on. 14 times MotM

Pretty sure by man of the match he literally means he was a man in the match 14 times considering that's how many appearances he made for us.

He's played 14 games for us with a quick look on wiki, so I'm guessing its a bad translation and he meant that he's had 14 games. Still funny

Yeah he was ignored by Van Gaal despite playing in 14 games for us. What a travesty!

Won't be missed.. enjoyed he's commitment but never really looked to have the quality to succeed here. All signs now point to a new left back coming in, who is the question of course.

Was always going to happen considering he didn't take him to World Cup.

I wonder if SAF had stayed if he could have got more out of Buttner as a backup LB this season. He was never going to displace Evra but it feels like he showed a little potential in his first season under SAF, but joined the fire sale this summer amongst all the usual suspects.

c'mon woody if you cant sign any players till after lvg gets here / the world cup is finished and any players at the world cup cant negotiate then at least start shifting out players who are not at the world cup

buttner is a good start but please find buyers for bebe, anderson and young quickly

So if united lose butner, our defensive options are 3 CB's along with just 1 RB and 1 LB. Which also is the biggest concern, that rafeal smallen jones Evans who are injury prone, and Evra is 33, so we do have a problem at the back

 close enough.

I'm actually quite disappointed with this. He was expendable ofc, but I really appreciated his commitment. I feel like he had more in him. This has to mean that we're bringin in another LB though, probably Shaw or Blind.

Good luck to him, never good enough.

If he goes it's pretty clear we're signing a left back, and would convince me that Shaw is pretty much done.

He'll turn 26 during the course of next season, and is obviously nowhere near good enough. I wish him luck. Shaw will be a massive upgrade.

He's too good to be a sub but no where near as good enough at United. At the right club level he could be a fan favorite with his style of play, best of luck to him!

Could pose a smaller problem for us having two left backs such as evra and shaw when we'll be playing far too few games to give them enough game time. I feel like Evra would have to accept taking the back seat but I dont think he signed another contract to watch on from the bench.

Buttner was a typical SAF gamble. Aside from the odd exception, his cheap gamble signings didn't really work out in the later years. Hernandez was a success, mind you.

Gone of the days of big clubs bullying smaller clubs into selling their players on the cheap. And it's something I feel the club has failed to grasp

?

How is not spending more than £30 million for Shaw trying to get him on the cheap?

Remember our scout for the Netherlands said Buttner wasnt the best left back he'd found for us? I dont think the scouting was the problem, thankfully

Interesting this should come to light so soon after Koeman has been installed as Southampton's new boss. Has the final impediment to Shaw's move now been removed?

I wouldn't consider a fee in the region of £27m - £30m cheap for an 18 year old.

I agree it will probably be Evra taking the back seat more often than not, but I think he's been played into the ground in recent years, and that his performances would benefit from fewer games. Shaw is 15 years younger than him, and still learning. I believe we'll have just about enough games to make it work, and they are both vastly better players than Buttner.

Long term, you could see him play at the top for 15 years, which makes 30 million a bargain. Any LB which can defend well and attack and play at the top that long, makes any club want more money

Defenders are just has important has attacking players, and Southampton are not that eager to sell, because they do not need the money so much
