Bundesliga 2018/19

German Community shield aka Marco-Reus-Cup aka German Supercup starts in less than an hour.

Boateng not even on the bench, interesting. Is he injured?

Patella problems. James got a knock Wednesday at the friendly. Sanches has back problems. Gnabry got a knock at the friendly against United, was back in training Friday but not yesterday. Tolisso just arrived in Munich today.

Frankfurt was the last season DFB Pokal winner? I missed that completely. I thought it was Bayern.

Ante Rebic destroyed them. There were 2 controversial VAR calls in favor of them, one has to add. I suggest to look it up, it was one of the biggest upsets in German football for years.

No chance this game will be as exciting, I smell a low scoring Bayern win

Bayern really should've been down to 11 men there.

They're giving Lewandowski quite the kicking. Ref way too lenient there, that kick was nasty.

Relax. I only watched from minute ~35 onwards and have seen too many cases of Bayern bonus in the past, so don't take it too seriously ;)

VAR in Germany still a farce. That grade A cnut Abraham should've walked.

With VAR, how is it not a pen earlier after Fabian’s tackle? And how that isn’t a red is a mystery.

When fit they still know how to do it.

Scarface is still up to it.
Robben looks like someone's oul man ... still hasn't got a right foot but he's done well without it.

Abraham is a thug.

He's a great player.

Lewandowski deliberately backed into him and did not compete for the ball. Abraham is entitled to jump for the ball and, to gain leverage, he needs to raise his arm.

If Lewandowski doesn't want to compete then that's his problem.

I think he's counting the ref among the Bayern players. ;)

Hummels really should have been sent off for that though.

It's something like 180 matches since Bayern had a player sent off in the Bundesliga or German cup competitions yet they don't have such luck in the champions league.

Of course Hummels should have been sent off. His tackle would have been a yellow anywhere on the pitch and he denied a goalscoring opportunity.

But this is Bayern.
Send someone off and the phone calls go in from Munich to the DFB the next day, and before you know it you're reffing in the regionliga.....the referees know the score.

That’s quite funny about a guy who had a horrible accident as a kid.
I just remembered you are the idiot Frankfurt fan! Why the feck aren’t you on my ignore list?!

This is how things are run in DFB-land.

What’s wrong with women?

Nothing pfncourse
No offence intended.

Funniest thing I saw was Lewandowski putting it up to Abraham. He stood up as the game was on going .... staring at Abraham and not looking at the football.

Abraham collided with him because he was basically in the way....lewandowski, the tough guy, fell to the ground crying for his mummy (the ref)

I just hope Alaba only has a bruised knee. Didn’t look good though.
And so unnecessary of the Frankfurt player going in like that being down 0-4 with 15 minutes to go in a glorified pre-season friendly.

Any good leftbacks available..? :(

Not really.

I see Bayern are back at thrashing their opponents in a rather easy way. Frankfurt worked their magic in may to beat them.

Sebastian Rudy seems to be close to joining Leipzig for around €15m. Makes sense for him and Bayern.

Bayern got him for free and has Sanches returning and Goretzka coming in with only Vidal leaving. Rudy featured in 30+ games for Bayern, earned good money, put a championship on his resumee and probably learned a thing or two while working/training/playing with worldclass players.

He had Ragnick as a coach in his breakthrough year at Hoffenheim - and played two years with Nagelsmann who will be coach in Leipzig next season. A transfer would be good for all parties. For Bayern's overcrowded midfield in which Rudy would not get much time but now there is more time for everybody else. Leipzig could profit of the experience he got this year with Bayern and would have a player that matches to the coaches and playing styles.

First round of the German cup today.

Cup holders Eintracht Frankfurt get eliminated by a 4th league team and finalists Bayern München squeeze through on an 81st minute goal, also against a 4th league team.
