Bundesliga 2017/18

Let´s be honest here, both situations were joke pens, but if you give the first one (especially including the red card, which was incredibly harsh after Ayketin let Keita live in the first half), you have to give the second one. Then it is at least consistent.

What a goal by Stindl.

Hazard is having a great season, except for his finishing. Should have 5-7 goals as a midfielder already.

Considering his recent mistakes that's quite the statement.

[Bürki's contract extended until 2021]

Yeah quite the statement that they have no ambitions, unless of course they view him as Weidenfeller´s long-term bench replacement, while they find a better goalie.

Who would be an affordable upgrade then? Leaving his recent mistakes aside he's good defensively and very good in possession.

Trapp? Literally anyone more suited playing for a club like Dortmund? Some youth player?

He's shit, he's always been and extending his contract is maybe the first real mistake I have seen from Dortmund in years.

Don't hold back on the Hyperboles. Trapp has plenty of mistakes in him as well. He'd be a far cry from an upgrade.

What? How dare you talk bad about a German GK. I'm sure Trapp was benched at PSG purely as a coincidence.

He still got a higher ceiling. You know what you get with Bürki: an extremely average keeper. Trapp is just that when in bad form, but he can be much more. Szczesny would have been a good option before Juventus got him

And please don't jump on the same train as the swiss press, this isn't because he's not German. He just isn't good enough for Dortmund and he never will be.

Heuer-Fernandes from Darmstadt. Unfortunately we found out the back-up is total trash, so we can´t let him go for €10M in the winter.

Pollersbeck looked an interesting prospect and he's now on the bench of bloody HSV

You'd have to watch games with your eyes closed to think Trapp would be a better option than Bürki.

Goretzka looked world class as an attacking midfielder. Beautiful chip over the goalie for Schalke's first. A midfield 3 with Matic at the base and Pogba and Goretzka one top would dominate just about any midfield.

Bosz is going ham:

-------------Bürki -
Bartra, Weigl, Subotic, Toljan
-------------Sahin
------Castro-----Götze
Pulisic--Aubameyang--Philipp

Subotic back from the dead, with his first starting lineup appearance in like 20 months.
It's pretty strange that Zagadou is sitting on the bench though, aside from the final third he did very well as a LB and he's also much better on the ball than Subotic.

I just can´t take German teams seriously. Gladbach should have been up 3-0 and then concede a piss-poor goal.

We're playing some sort of B side -Müller, Boateng, Kimmich, Thiago all benched.

I thought most of the changes made sense. Kimmich deserves to be rested. James deserves a start under Heynckes, we need him to find top form. Similar thing with Vidal and with James adding more creativity on the ball than Müller, it shouldn't be a problem to play a 2nd box to box midfielder in Tolisso.

At least in theory :nervous:

I'm sorry but that is not a red card. The Hamburg feckers have targeted Coman all game but still this is a yellow.

Even with VAR in place Bayern gets favorable calls.

Some Bayernkunde coming up with wahretabelle in 3,2,1

Certainly does not seem like this will have been the last red card of the game.

Bayern looking like scoring? No shots on target and 1 corner, they usually have like 12 corners every half in the Bundesliga it seems

The question is whether VAR should overturn a call like this. As much as I don't think this is a red and I would prefer the game to be 11vs11, I don't think they should. Because it's not a straightforwardly wrong decision, merely a very harsh one.
By the book, a tackle from behind, no chance to reach the ball and studs up can be awarded a red, so this is a judgement call, even if IMO a wrong one. If VAR were to inject themselves there, this would be problematic activism I guess.

Agree. Just do it like they do in the NFL. If there is enough proof to suggest the initial call was wrong, overturn it. Otherwise just let it go.
