I agree with devilish, I'm repeating myself, but we could have been looking at a midfield of Ndombele - Rodri - Rabiot with Fernades at the top of a diamond for little more than Pogba money ,with Matic, Fred, McTomminay and Pereira as back up it would be a huge improvement, but we are watching one player after another move on while we dither, As well as Ndombele, Rodri & Rabiot, we have also missed out on Barella and Teilmans, you could make a case for trying to get Gomes, De Jong and even Ramsay IF we were serious about improving the midfield, I don't think Fernandes on his own will transform us, I see him as a Pogba replacement, we need him and 2 more.
I very much doubt it. He reminds me of Anderson minus his talent. I was hoping we get rid off before he becomes worthless
Still shocked me how we let Herrera go. I'm that McTominay makes the step up but is a big ask. Regarding Matic, I think that he should have gone but as he is still here we will just have to put up with it. Really hoping that he's not going to be a regular starter as his legs have gone. What I'm hoping is that we just keep Matic for the big games as I don't think it's too much of an ask to get him to play one game at full intensity once once in a while, then sell him next summer.
Hoping for a big season out of Fred he's had a season to bed in and adjust to the league, no excuses this year. In my opinion he has to perform or we should get rid of him next summer.
Bruno fernandes is a no 10. If we are getting him as Pogba's replacement then we are set to change our system. Id go for a 4-2-3-1 system with Partney and Doucoure in CM and Bruno as no 10

I don't know. The last one man sorts it all midfielder we had was Robson. Even scholes needed help on the defensive side of things while Keane was decent offensively at best.

When they crap does hit fan I think rather than putting the blasme oon any of the players you mentioned the fans should direct the blamne towards Woody for not releasing the necessary funds to fill the gaping holes in the the squad which are evident for everyone to see. And despite this might be an unpopular opinion I think that Fred is a much better player than he gets credit for. There have been a few games last season with him being our best midfielder and if played on a regular basis I could see him + e.g. Isco + 1 new player forming a well ticking midfield. Depends of course also on the manager to get the best out of them.

Herrera/DeGea the foreigners are loved by most fans and Lingard/Smalling/Jones the English players are hated by many. Somehow it doesn't fit the agenda.
