I struggle to believe that if this guy is as good as he's made out to be, that he wouldn't have had a transfer out of Portugal by now.
I think his amazing goals and assists highlight reel from last season was made in a studio using state of the art cgi and green screens.
Look, I'm not saying he's rubbish, but it seems like Sporting or his agent have been trying to drum up interest all summer and no one seems to have bitten, which I find odd. Especially for us as the deal looks like it was there to be done and if he is that good he'd be an improvement for us.

I think it is a price thing and what seems like a novice agent but to be fair the best run clubs have a top players in his position so I'm not too surprised. Seemed a no brainer for us though as he surely cannot be worse than what we have.

I just think that United thought that they could get him on the cheap, mistakenly thinking his release clause was £35m, and perhaps Joao Felix being transferred for more than £100m has made Sporting determined to get a much higher valuation for their player.

this seems really really weird. He had a great season last year, is at a good age and valuation of 70m euros is not that bad but no one seems to be going for him. There must be something weird going on with the contract he signed after the fan attack and no one wants to deal with that.
I think its simply the case that the clubs do not value the player as highly as Sporting do. I don't think there is anything particularly weird other than the clause, which is still not anywhere near as complicated as the image rights of Dybala.
Whenever these 'ON' suffixes start, I just know we're not getting the player.

I think he meant more that they would pay him 5m EVERY time the bid was made, not just a one off.
