Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

How many times does Nicolo Schira need to be posted before people realise that he's a hack.

This vid is fascinating!

Makes me wonder if McT and Matic should be used together... Don't know if it'll work... We need another CDM...

Also shows how Bruno, Dybala and Pogba could all get involved in the action, while we maintain defensive structure.
When McT has been playing he has been pushing right up as the box to box option but to me I think I’d rather it’s a DM and Pogba or a DM and McT. Not sure if I fully trust McT yet to play the role of DM but he has looked good in pre- season.
If Pogba is injured or rested for games the. Fred, Fernandes and McT can take his spot and perform his role so we have options and to be honest I feel like this year might be a good year for Fred with our pressing. It’s just where and when will he fit in.

I’m still not entirely convinced that we will get both Dybala and Bruno but with tweets to the attacking shape and a bit more reckless abandonment at the back and then I guess they could all play together and whatever happens I think we’ll be exciting to watch this year as it’s basically like a we’ll score more goals than you and we trust our defence will do enough.

If it works brilliant, can’t wait to see it, if it doesn’t then we’ll go down swinging.

This is my own personal opinion - I don't feel like Bruno Fernandes will be playing at Old Trafford come next season. I would love to see him play for United but, for some reason, all the news updates that I have stumbled upon about this players have felt somewhat hollow and made up. I believe we are chasing Dybala but we're never truly in for Fernandes. But again, that could be just me having gotten accustomed to United never successfully getting the long drawn negotiations of decent attacking midfielders over the line in past many years.

No way were we going to solve every single problem area in one summer.

Even signing both, we wont have solved every single problem area. We still need a right winger for sure. Playing Mata and/or Lingard on the right will prevent us from being a top club. We need a holding midfielder to replace Matic. I think Shaw and Lindelof have enough quality to help us compete in the EPL, but I’m not sure of it. Perhaps Dalot provides competition, but I’m not as high on him as others here. All across the squad we lack quality depth. And even amongst these starters, assuming we grabbed everyone, you still have several players starting that aren’t good enough to compete for CL trophies. If they think Bruno is a fit for what they’re doing, and he’s available now, they’ve got to grab him. If Juventus and Dybala are willing to make the swap for Lukaku, and the club think he’s a better fit, then it’s got to be done. We need to increase the overall quality of our squad. Too many players that are not fit to even be squad players on a top European team taking up spots.

Admittedly I've not seen him play enough to judge and YouTube can make a average player a worldie. So what's he best position then? And how and where does he fit into United team??
He plays in the #10 role and has a natural instinct to pick up loose balls and get into the box to score.

He can fit at United by being the furthest player in a 3 man midfield with Pogba and another DM behind him. This pre season Sporting has been playing him as a left mid and he has surprisingly done well there. He played that position vs Liverpool actually.

I´m a little worried that Fernandes is a tod overestimated and that he might not be the hotshot everyone seems to believe he is. He was alright against Liverpool, but he did nothing that Pereira could not do. See for yourselves:

I was also a bit underwhelmed by him in the national league, and thought he did not quite live up to the hype (losing possession a lot). Personally, I´d rather see United signing Erikson, for the same price.

Did you watch the game vs Liveperool? Liverpool fans were climaxing over his performance and saying not to leave the US without his signature.

Him and Perreira are on 2 different tiers completely in terms of quality.

Klopp as well congratulated him on his great performance where he was easily the best player on the pitch for both sides.

He is a bullshitter apparently. Fernandes is overrated. I think he is a back up in case Dybala says no.

Yeah the player who we've been linked with all summer ans allegedly agreed to sign a week back is back up for the guy that by chance we were offered a swap for a few days ago. We need both. Anyone saying anything else is off their heads.

I've watched every pre season game. Weve played a 4231 not a 4321. Did you watch any of them?

I said in my previous post that not all formations are rigid and that players move around the pitch differently as the game develops. It seems you are seeing the player positions and formations I had them in and taken them as gospel and for the rigid sistems you seem to think footballers play in. They dont.

City have Bernardo Silva who plays central behind Aguero (even though the broadcaster show it as wide right) with Sterling wide left and david Silva/De Bruyne in the mix.

This is what the broadcasters show.

Sterling Aguero Bernardo
Silva
gundogan Fernandinho

Bernardo drifts around behind the strikers and in midfield positions. Sterling gets in behind the defenders and plays as a left winger. Aguero drops into #10 to allow space in behind.

Do you understand?

It's about getting players to do a job that works best on the pitch. I repeat its not about rigid formations. What i showed does not mean Bruno will play as a false 9 when the 2 up top drift wide. Bruno also plays very deep and is very good at protecting the back 4.

Ok. You caught my typo. Of course it was 4231, I said “double pivot”. It’s a such a smart strategy to argue pretending that the opponent is a dumb kid who doesn’t know anything about football. Enlightening me on how broadcasters picture lineups is another brilliant argument. Pretty primitive.

Are you interested in truth or just defending whatever you draw? You didn’t explain me who will provide width in your “diamond”. Fullbacks can’t do that all we achieve with our fullbacks out wide - Sad Lonely Young. If forwards provide width, then it’s not a diamond any more. It’s 4-3-3. numbers like 442, 443, etc. describe approximate average position of every player. I really don’t think that the are glued to the circles shown by Sky. Really. I am trying to have a dialogue. It is impossible though.

As for Guardiola, he plays a vey fluid system and his fullbacks can be inverted or wide. Wide players will play wide or tuck accordingly. I have no clue what you are trying to prove by bringing City line up here.

Are you trying to say that your diamond so flexible that MCT will get in the box, then it’s not diamond because he’s average position will be higher. Do you understand?

Was trying to edit my previous post. Never mind.

I do wonder if, if we got dybala and fernandes, we'd go for an ultra attacking line up with mctominay or matic at the base, pogba and fernandes playing further up with dybala as a false 9 / 10 with martial and rashford playing as split strikers. Gives tremendous freedom to our front 5, width and with a front 3 like that a lot of options to switch positions during games.

Sort of like...

Rashford--------------------------martial
------------------------dybala
-----Fernandes----------------pogba
------------------------Matic

That is similar to city in a lot of ways. Its not perfect but its about a million times better than what we can currently field. It'd concede but also score a lot. Could be a lot of fun to watch.

Exit: looks like a diamond in that but i'd see it more like a 4123 or a 433.

And would b happy to finish below Everton, wolves probably?

There is more of a chance of that happening with adding more overrated players no? Mate you're not making any sense. This is absolute silly season where people just jump on a bloody bandwagon. If we do sign him by all means I hope he is a success but there is no reason for people to lose their shit if we don't.

It’s classic 4-3-3 with Dybala as false 9. If Pogba and Bruno will play 8.5 well (I think PP can do that), Rashford will play as wide as against KBK, James on the right (martial on the right is bold), then it is pretty viable in my view.

Technically it’s 433 with a false 9. Dybala would be playing the way Messi did for Barca under Guardiola with Rashford and Martial the David Villa and Pedro.

Yeah i meant to put martial and rashford thr other way around.

Really? We let go of one of our main midfielders who bought balance to the midfield, and sold one in January, our form with Herrera missing was for every one to see, we lost to relegated teams in the fight for top 4 Matic is a complete deadwood even worse than fellani now in the middle ,The midfield is in abysmal state and you are telling me we should not lose it if we don't sign any more midfielders when we let go two of them from our team, and be happy with an attacking midfielder who's first choice is to stay at juventus and if he is played in his best position unbalances our midfeild and forces our most creative player to play so deep as a pivot where he is very poor and gets found out?

Again to reiterate, I asked you to not lose your shit about not signing Fernandes. The fact you think that Fernandes should be signed to replace Herrera tells me all I need to know about your understanding of both players attributes and influence on their respective teams. Fernandes is a #10. We obviously need midfielders. I'd rather overpay and bring in a quality #8 or #6 to replace both Matic and Herrera than buy more mediocrity to fill numbers. Wasn't this your question in the first place? I still think Gomes has real quality and should be slotted in as an #8.

Pogba’s departure rumours rising again.
Fernandes supposedly joining us after tomorrow.

Maybe it was planned all the time that this was when the transfers would be made. Probably completely wrong and makes no sense but still odd how both seem to be aligning.
