Bruno Fernandes | Signed

Why would Bruno want to go and play for Valencia over us? I know it’s on loan but still. He isn’t going to appreciate being farmed around like that.

Why wouldn't he? He would be signing for Barcelona who paid up straight away rather than mess about trying to get him on the cheap for the last 3 weeks, not including what shenanigans went on in the Summer. 4 months in Valencia sounds quite nice.

Why would Barca pay 50 million for a 25 year old that they would then loan out.

According to AS it's because of the new FFP regulations. They cannot fit the Rodrigo and Bruno Fernandes signings in the same window. And Valencia has a very good relationship with Barsa so it's not that unlikely.

If it happens, you cannot blame a player for wanting to play with Messi, Griezmann and Busquets.

No, we blame the incompetent pricks who fecked about the whole of January instead of sealing the deal.

Barca want Rodrigo, but Valencia are reluctant to sell.

Barca want Fernandes, but can't afford them both this year - so they'll buy Rodrigo then gift Valencia Fernandes for a year as a makeweight.

That's the idea anyway, sounds long winded - but maybe too fantasy to make up?

Mendes DID say another club is interested but couldn't sign him yet due to FFP, guess this was what he meant.

If this is actually true  I didn’t believe it this morning but the fact it’s gathering steam. We are an utter joke of a club and the higher ups deserve all the misery coming their way.

This wouldn't have happened if we signed him in the 1st week of Jan.
We are struggling to prize away Jude Bellingham from Birmingham so no wonder we are struggling to sign players.

Any body on this forum thinks the current team is the weakest in last 25 years?

So where are all the posters asking “why’s no one else in for him he must be shit?”

I’d say it is.

worst since 1959 since I started following United, mate.

So his agent's plan all along was to use United to force Barca's hand? Reminds me of Ronaldo every year threatening to go back to us only for Real to give him a better contract.

But it will be us fans that suffer most.

The atmosphere is going to be vile on Saturday.

Vile? I hope the atmosphere is rocking - rocking with bonfire chants and bouncing up and down to show how much we want them leeches out of the club. Then mass walkouts after that.

Castles I think it was stated that intermediaries ie Mendes were taken out of the deal, so Sporting would make more out of the deal. Bruno's agent is his brother.
That's only with us as we asked for him not to be involved. Mendes probably went off to Barca/Valencia who he has close ties with to make the deal.

Woodward and the Glazers has fecked us YET AGAIN. We're clearly skint and just making things up to act like we've tried. pathetic.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1959–60_Manchester_United_F.C._season

Not a vintage season, Violet got 32 goals in 36 appearances, Charlton 21 in 37.

7th in the league with 45 points (2 points for a win in those days, so equivalent to 64 today)

Out in the 5th round of the Cup.
This could easily be where we end up at the end of this season too. 7th in the league and out of the FA cup with a shock loss in the 5th round as we are forced to field a largely youth team due to more player injuries.

Bless your little cotton socks.

I remember a few positive people saying this first half of the week would be full of good news about this deal  Aye just not for us.
Little cotton socks Ha Ha, you never seen my feet mate. As for the deal, We will all have to wait and see.

Woody and Matt Judge get the news during their morning granola and brainstorming sesh.

If someone told me I had to play four months in Valencia, one of the better Spanish league teams, before playing for Barcelona, I'd be off in a heartbeat. It's a no brainer.
And Valencia are still in the Champions League!

How anyone can’t be disillusioned with this club right now, I’ve no idea. Heads in the sand.
Another few years of Woodward/Judge in the helm and we will be bottom half of the table. Legacy well and truly ruined.

Don`t believe everything you read. These reporters are either stealing a living or getting informed by Ed`s PR minion Ashton.

Why on earth would we be briefing the Spanish press that ANOTHER club is signing our target??

Last summer real madrid had signed him but would leave him on loan to sporting until december

Now barcelona, who still own coutinho, would do the same

Makes perfect sense that a club that spent 160m for coutinho and are now trying to flog him off because he didn't fit next to Messi and Suarez would go out and spend 70m for the poundland version of Coutinho

It's scary, I agree that three years from now this club will be unrecognizable from the behemoth SAF left. Disgraceful from Woodward and the Glazers to superintendent on the distruction of the great men's work whilst he is still alive.

I think absolutely nobody wants to join us as Ed has made us a laughing stock.

Let's wait and see until we get the "comunicado oficial". Nothing has been signed yet.

That said, even Woodwards has to see that recruting players to come to Man Uts is becoming increasingly difficult with our current setup. We have to pay much more than our rivals.

It won't take that long mate. With the current setup and manager, I say we'll finish bottom half next season - close to it this season.

He shouldn’t be mouthing off “we can do things other clubs couldn’t dream of in the market” it’s so apparent that guy hasn’t a clue about football.

I know. That has to be the most cringy quote I've seen from a United man ever.

A few options here:

1. He is the right player for the team in a position we are extremely lacking and we shouldn't have wasted a month trying to haggle 10 mil (when we have cleared more than that in salaries from players we haven't replaced).
2. He is not the right player for us / represents a risk in which case we should have moved on to our second or third choice options weeks ago.
3. We're not (and never were) investing in the midfield because we know Pogba is leaving in the summer and will reinvest accordingly with his funds - in which case we should just come out and say so.

Whatever the scenario its being handled extremely badly.

Now that panic has set in with The Judge & Woody that Barca are sniffing around - we finally get to see the sequel to The Fellani transfer......

we will end up signing him now for MORE than what was asked at the beginning of Jan, having spend a month pissing around squabbling over a few quid......

I bet it was Mendes - he’ll also get a slice of cake now as well.......

we will have been well and truly played....again

when woody said we could do things in the market that other clubs only dreamed of - he was right - we can start off a negotiation and end up paying more than the original asking price.....no one else can/does that

laughing stock we will be
