Tevez: Italian outlet wins award for most farcical transfer story
Italian outlet Tuttosport is ludicrously claiming United are considering a potential loan move for one Carlos Alberto Martinez Tevez, the former United and City striker who has not even been making it into the Boca Juniors squad of late.

It goes without saying that this is a load of rubbish.
Ah thanks...

80 million euro if true was never going to happen if they have indeed pushed the price up for United.

Supposedly United have confirmed that is not even being considered, and no plans to make an approach of any kind

We'll get him on deadline day, it's obvious. Sporting need to sell, and they'l cave for a price thats mutually better.

Yeah and how many points (and millions) will we throw away before then, just to save a few million? Absolute joke.

It is inconceivable that one of the richest clubs in the world is squabbling over 10million for a player that we desperately need. I actually cannot get my head around the abject incompetence of Ed Woodward and his inability to do his job.
Easy to say when it's not your money. 10 million is a lot of money. If we are at 45 and they are at 55, that is a massive difference in evaluation and to say "Oh Ed is such a cheapskate, he won't pay 10 million" is somewhat ridiculous. If you think we get reamed on transfers now, wait until you see what teams do to us if they see Ed cough up another 10 millionin this case.

So were bailing on this for 13 million???

How much is no CL going to cost us? 40

I thought these vampires understood money...
The lower we finish down the league the less money we get as well. The more rubbish we are , the less we will be on TV, maybe not here, but abroad might choose more attractive options.

Genuinely think that people who are desperate to sign him are just desperate to sign anyone.

He cost 7m and apparently they have a deal with a bank that they can pay it back in the summer

Isn’t that one of the reasons they need to sell? Because they loaned the money to buy Bruno from a bank in the first place.

And to show we arent going to cave into stupid demands. I'm fine with making Sporting sweat for that, as long as we stop paying feck off prices for less proven players.

Are we believing the story that Manchester United's proposed transfer for Bruno Fernandes has collapsed following interference from club co-chairman Joel Glazer?

Why do I still think this will happen? Rumors of Bruno handing in a transfer request, I think Sporting will end up accepting our offer. Just a feeling.

I'm leaning this way myself. I think we'll get him last minute and pay well over the odds out of pure desperation.

If only someone could have seen this type of situation coming when we shipped out a bunch of players without replacing them.

What a fecking weird post. Are you living in a world where you think we don’t need literally anyone? I would take championship players at this point.

Then you have absolutely no right to moan about our recruitment if you think it’s just a case of signing anyone. We’ve made mistakes and been ripped off in the past. Bruno has clearly never been a priority and we are not going to pay anything other than what we deem to be good value.

I’ve criticised Woodward and the board in the past for rushing into signings like this out of desperation so why wouldn’t I try to be objective and recognise it when it’s happening again and commend them for not making the same mistake?

Apologies if that doesn’t fit the current narrative but it’s my take.

Bruno is the best we can get right now. We need players right now. Not in the summer, now. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking our recruitment is going to be right in the summer, because it won’t. All this talk of Grealish, Maddison, Sancho etc is fantasy.

Bruno is a quality player so much better than anything we have available at a fair price. We are not in a position to haggle, we have to pay what we need to pay or we’re going to be stuck in mid table forever. Harsh reality.

Then you’ve accepted that we are a mid table side and should only be signing players at that level.

Yep, the retirement reunion of Tevez and Rooney would get the pulses racing at this point, and the club think they've got the right to take issue with Bruno's asking price, you act like an idiot, you get treated like one.

Sky saying we're only willing to offer 42million for him. If true no wonder they told us to get stuffed.

Why? This is a £40m transfer. £50m at the absolute most.

Sporting are absolutely ripping the piss and you’ll notice nobody else is rushing to buy the player at the price quoted. There’s just no interest because they’re asking insane money.

You’re clearly not a great judge of talent if you think Bruno Fernandes is a mid table player.

Well done for missing the point. The price is absolutely fair. If any other club was in this position it would have been paid a long time ago.

He’s a marquee signing for a club like Wolves or Everton for around £55m.

He’s not a marquee signing for a club like United for £70m+.

Name me all these better players in Europe with his numbers/performances.
