This basically sums it up, get a competent attack ahead of him and the goals will come.

Whether he's matured or Amorim has got it out of him, it's great to watch Bruno playing as he is now without the petulance that totally ruins his game.
the petulance is helplessness manifesting. as you say, give him team mates who can put a football in the back of a net, he'll crush assist stats too.

I don't think his petulance has disappeared. I just feel he communicates better with the team now that they're more familiar with the system and they know their roles

I've been one of his harshest critics over the years, but I'll personally say it's really nice to see some development in his game even this late into his career. He's gotten much more cerebral with his decision making with just general play and I personally think it's elevated him a level past just a super productive gunslinger type.

Even just small things like choosing WHEN to go for a killer ball or in what part of the pitch to try and see if stuff comes off matters so much, whereas in the past it felt like he'd just try whatever he wanted wherever he wanted which at times would come to the detriment of the team and the control we might have on a game.

Add to that the fact that he's found some shooting boots that seemed to go missing for a few years, and I think this is the best version of Bruno we've had at the club so far. Just a shame he has a relegation quality set of forwards in front of him.

Ever since Roy Keane made that comment, Bruno has really stepped it up a notch further. He was already carrying us before.

There needs to be more context behind those stats. He has the most chances created but they aren't the most high quality ones.

With xA he's 5th (6.3) in the league and actually our players have finished his chances better then expect, 9 assists for Bruno.
Want more context, look at every season he's been with United. It's always the same. His chance creation output is world class.

Salah, KDB, Saka and Bruno have been doing it for multiple seasons now. There's no questioning their output.

No, Bruno is not a better player than Bellingham. Only deluded Man Utd fans think this. The amount of Bruno glazing here is ridiculous.

I like Bruno as a player but let's not forget that he was garbage in the first half of the season. Many Utd fans want wanted him to be sold in the summer.

He's been our best player among the pile of turd. That doesn't mean he's on the Bellingham's level.

See I still don't think it's ludicrous to query whether Bruno is a better player. Another game, another Bellingham disappearing act. I appreciate it's not indicative of every game he plays but most times I see him he does this

If you were to put together a Premier League 11 he’d be in it.

Midfield of Rodri/Rice/Bruno.

It’s laughable that people wanted rid.

That first part to me was always a coaching thing. Ole and Ten Hag wanted him to be a gun slinger type, whenever he gets the ball just try to create a chance. People were ridiculous thinking a player that talented couldn't play in a possession, controled system. That's where coaching comes into play to introduce little subtleties to adjust players' games. He's been a world class player for years, and if we're honest, he's wasted them away playing for a disaster club when he could have been competing for Champions League trophies at just about any club in the world over the past 5 years. Grateful we have him, but he deserves some major trophies. Also you can tell he's an absolutely great guy and the perfect captain for the club, regularly does gestures like the one with the kid in the wheel chair over the weekend and bringing him to be a mascot. A captain we can definitely be proud of to represent the club, on and off the pitch.

Absolutely for this season he will be in the team of the year. Can people stop pretending like he's been playing like this since he's been here?

Depends on what you mean by "like this".

He's won POTY 3 times, he's always worked hard, he's always regained possession a lot and he's always created plenty of chances and G/A (based on full seasons). None of this is new stuff.

What's new is that he's gotten increasingly sharper and smart, which us why this might be his best season. But this is not at all surprising for anyone who's watched Bruno without a negative bias. The quality was clearly always there.

Can people stop trying to downplay how good he's been since joining?

Brunos been by far our best player and consistent since he joined.

He was in the PL team of the season in his 1st year and might be in there this season but in between he's had serious down periods.

He has received huge unequivocal praise on here for both spells. This proves the criticism he received in between isn't based on anything but a drop off from those standards.

Judge not a negative agenda poster for how they behave when the player in question is unequivocally good. Await judgement until the player is just marginally below that. That's when their agenda becomes clear. An average game will be described as shit and a good game will be described as average.

Bruno's chances, tackles, interceptions and workrate have always been top rate and anyone who's not blind should have seen it. G/A was also good, even in the worst seasons.

I said in the summer that I back him to have his best season for us, and I think it’s been just that. Grown into a quite majestic player this season and is making the right decisions over and over in a range of circumstances.

Thought was struggling until the change, he's so much better now from deep. He's not got the speed to play the Amorim 10 role. Lovely assist.

Despite some of his flaws (and too much whining), you can't deny moments of absolute genius that he regularly produces. Overall, I love the guy.

Thought he was class once again. Some of his passes from deep are just ridiculously good.

He’s way better in midfield than in one of the dual 10s.

We play better attacking football when he's in midfield but I can see why Ugarte and Casemiro might be a better option defensively. Getting the balance right in this team is a nightmare for a manager.

Being mismanaged by Amorim at this point and I've been a massive skeptic of his.

His most influential play is coming from central midfield, he opens the game up due to his skillset in distributing the ball. Yet Amorim is insisting on playing him as the wider 10 where he's restricted in possession and doesn't naturally progress the ball as well as Zirkzee, Garnacho or even Mainoo.

It's exactly the same situation as Sven Goran Eriksson (God rest his soul) playing Scholes left midfield for England an historical travesty in the sport for the national team.

If Amorim would have played Bruno centrally throughout the entirety of his tenure at United, the team would have finished the league in the top 10. This one detail is worth at least 3-5 places in the league table. Bruno has the influence of a maverick it's bewilderingly shocking how well he played with Casemiro to signify the best team performances of the season to then be abandoned when injured players returned.

I think it's pretty obvious Amorim prefers him as a CM and will mainly play him there, when he has options all over the pitch. Thing is, our attackers are pathetic right now, and we literally haven't had #10 options while Casemiro and Ugarte can be a solid pairing in midfield to keep things tight for us. No matter what we do, our attack isn't going to be scoring much, so being more conservative in must not lose games is the right call.

Once Mount and Mainoo and especially Amad come back, you'll see Bruno back in CM. Dropping Ugarte or Case away to Lyon just to start Zirkzee and Hojlund and Garnacho as your front 3 isn't a great choice IMO. Get your better players on, even if it means moving Bruno in a different position.

He's been playing magnificently lately, but he didn't play smart at all last 20 minutes, even Amorim was yelling at him couple of times, as a senior player you can't lose the ball 5 times in good situations when you have good result away from home. It's like he wasn't happy with 2-1 and he pushed for 3-1, I don't think he will ever become smart to know when to slow it down.

Not at his best last night but still got an assist and even when not at his best the gulf between him and some of the other players is vast.

As much as I find him frustrating at times, it's scary to think where we would be without him.

He had a mediocre game, lost the ball too much and made many bad decisions in midfield and the final third. His pressing was as ineffective as usual, but the blame here isn't fully on him. The ball for Zirkzee's goal was fantastic though.

He’s way better in midfield than in one of the dual 10s.

I was adamant earlier in the season that RA would move him further forward again as soon as he could find someone suitable for midfield. But that now feels like a waste, he's been so much better in midfield.

I just feel bad for him most games. He shouldn't be here and he's wasted the later stages of his career by joining us. If I was him and a top club came in I'd be forcing a move through.

Hopefully we bring in some quality next season so we're not so reliant on him to do something.

I think this is where he should play next year. In midfield. I felt he drifted left a lot yesterday which doesn't suit him. But it depends on what will happen also over the summer. At this stage, we really need 3 attackers (i’m hoping amad gets played as a rwb).

I still believe this will be the case next season, the only reason Bruno doesn’t look as good/effective in #10 right now is because he doesn’t have the benefit of another Bruno feeding him and controlling the game from deeper.

My guess is we prioritise an Enzo Fernandez type player to go into the 8 to enable Bruno to play higher up the pitch.

Either way, good problem to have. World class AM who is also capable of the same from CM.
