Imagine Haaland playing in front of him. Feck me thats what we need to do. Easiest way to get back on top I reckon.

When he's on his game he's among the best in the world. He can tend to get a little lazy with his positioning and decisions when he's tired (stupid shots and pass attempts, drifting everywhere), but when he's fresh it's unstoppable. Honestly he's the one we need to give the 7 shirt to. First player to exude that influence on a side since Ronaldo.

You'd wonder if Bruno not playing is gonna be a psychological thing for the squad now. The whole footballing world is saying that he is carrying the team, the squad witnessed it first hand today in the most blatant manner.

If Bruno is out are players gonna be thinking in the back of their heads before kick off "We're in trouble here."

Bruno will soon be out with a back injury from carrying this team

He got the assists which were great, but I loved how he closed down the keeper to win the throw which eventually lead to masons goal (and he was involved in that move too)

Yup. For some reasons, our strikers don't do it enough. I was shitting when it seemed like he injured himself there.

He was incredibly good the whole 45 mins but the absolute standout action was his move to set Rashford through on goal (who unfortunately hit the post). Maguire played a good ball to Bruno but he had to play it quite hard and a bit high as there were a lot of West Ham players between them. Then Bruno just takes a perfect touch and plays within a second a perfect pass to Rashford. Quick vision and a perfect technique for both the touch and pass.

Indeed.

Imagine Woodflub recognizing that the Haaland release clause was an exceptional case and that the actual power move was to sign him with that clause if necessary.

From there, if you run the club the right way, then you get to either sign him to a new contract without the clause, or when the time comes and teams activate it, he says he's not leaving.

Crazy to think we could have had Bruno, Haaland, and Diallo* for 100m.

*I think he's going to be amazing.

Aye. We missed the chance of signing him for cheap. Now his value could triple and Dortmund is such a pain in the arse to deal with. Especially because he is their golden boy and there will be no shortage of potential buyers for such talent.

He's probably only half-joking :nervous:

The heart and soul of the team, how we had a free run at him is baffling.

Should be captain.

Just read Bruno earns same as Lingard. Not sure if Lingard earns too much or Bruno earns too little...

We should captain him soon because it makes sense and it can provide us some Shearer type of loyalty for a whilst in my opinion.

How do we keep this glorious bastard fit for 60+ games?? Because lets be honest, any injury to him and we're fecked!!! Needs to be rested for all Fa cup and league cup games I feel.

What does that even mean?

Haaland went to Dortmund because he wanted to go to Dortmund. Without kidnapping players, we’re never going to sign anyone who wants to play for a different club.

Jumping in, but wasn't it reported we pulled out because of the release clause issue, leaving only dortmund interested

It’s maddening how many fans fail to realise this. The release clause is there because Dortmund was a stepping stone in his career and was the perfect move for him at that point.
The idea that he would’ve come to United if we just offered that clause ourselves is so stupid. The Premier League or La Liga will come for him later in his career.

No.

It was reported that we sent Ole on a private jet to try and convince him to join United, but he couldn’t as the deal with Dortmund including the release clause, using it as a stepping stone was just too perfect for this stage in his career.

Ole’s such a nice bloke that he probably agreed with him (I mean, he was right) and asked him to keep United at the top of his list when the time for the next step comes.

It's obvious but we need to add at least 2 players in our team of the same level in different positions. Teams will start trying to mark him out of games and when that happens, we will have trouble creating opportunities. We already experienced this when PSG successfully marked him out of the game.

Best in Europe it would seem, reported on BBC that no one has created more chances than him this season in Europes top 5 leagues.
It's just ridiculous that he comes on and within like 15 minutes he created the most number of chances in the game with something like 4 or 5

Not only that, but there are so many cases of a player wanting to go to a team, but then deciding to go elsewhere instead to a team thats not even similar

If we did pull out due to the clause that might have made haalands mind up
It does seem different to Bellingham where he had a choice whereas haaland in the end only had once choice to make
Right?

Can anyone update his contract situation? He should be on double or more and I'm pretty certain other clubs are already circling him. Would like to see us renew a 5+1 bumper deal ASAP.

I know he only came in January but I'm sure he's earned a bumper new deal now.

He's got a contract until 2025, I presume with the standard +1 year option too. A lot of newspapers have reported we're looking at renewing again already.

Yeah that's good. I think he's only on 100- 150ish or something? I say only but in relative terms he should be on over 200-250.

If he keeps this up, he will be in the running for the PFA award at the end of the season. He’s just top class, need to keep him fit.

Romano said he's on £75k but performance-related bonuses take it up to £140k, considering his productivity he's probably achieving all his bonuses.

Yeah probably. Doesn't sit right that he's on less wages than certain other players though. No idea how sensitive he is on that front but I'd like to see us proactively show his value with a new deal.

I think after the Sanchez debacle we tried clamping down on our wage structure. I agree and I think we'll give him a new contract soon enough.

How would people compare his "aura" and influence on the pitch to Cantona? Am sadly too young to have witnessed the King playing for us.
