Why don't you take that up with Ian Brown, given that the original song has the lyrics "for every man a religion"?

I think it's called poetic licence.

The original's not great, but at least 'everyman' is an actual word, whereas 'everymanc' isn't.

And presumably the Brown song has something to do with fear. What does the UTD chant have to do with it? In what way is FEAR a 'religion' for 'everymanc'?

Poetic licence is one thing, but this just makes zero sense.

I sometimes try to look at Liverpool honestly, objectively and as a neutral and I still can't find anything even remotely likable about the club.

I see plenty of things. History, tradition and passion. They have all of that in spades. Then I listen to my mates talk utter gobshite about it. Spout complete bollocks about everything else and I get turned off the club.

I don't hate the club or find it unlikable. I just find the fans whilst trying to convey this aura of 'we're the best fans on earth' look and sound like complete and utter spastics and take themselves seriously to boot.

When I think about unlikable clubs, Chelsea is at the top of the list. There is nothing in that club that you can find homely and intimate.

Good lord, I want to pass out listening to his pregame interview. He sounds like he just woke up, and is lifelessly regurgitating extremely positive statements about pride and excellence.

Puke.

I can't stand his interviews. Every other sentence starts with "As I said", even when he's never said the fecking sentence in the first place the lifeless twat. Does my head in.

Don't listen to them then, that's what I do when a manager comes on I can't stand. Turn to a different TV channel.

Clearly struggled when he started but has done a good job to build the team he wanted now. If they can hold onto suarez and make one or two decent signings next year theyll be definate champions league contenders. Hes even got downing playing ok ffs

Yeah they are playing better and getting a few wins but still before yesterdays game they had won 4 and lost 2 in the last 6 league games (not counting their Europa exit aswell). Rodgers has this great ability to fool everybody I dont know how he does it, they play shite and he's ''building a team'' and when he puts 3 wins together they are in championship form and play football like Barcelona apparently.

I think they will have to settle for winning the league next year, personally. Player for player they are better than us.

I believe we're in CL form over the last 20 games. At the least, there's definite progress from last season.

Liverpool used to do silverwear too.

If Liverpool win every game that is left, they should get in to the top 4. Tottenham has a very difficult fixture list left, Chelsea got many games to play, Arsenal are not that far ahead.

In the last 15 you've won 8 games which is decent but hardly outstanding, and in doing so you've beaten 4 of the bottom 6, a half-arsed Swansea side and a Conference side. In that time you also managed to go out of the FA Cup v Oldham and out of the Europa League v Zenit. The two good teams you beat were Spurs (the better side on the day) and Zenit (with a comfortable lead). If that's CL form then the CL challengers must be terrible.

Liverpool were bloody lucky against Tottenham, but no Liverpool supporter is going to see that!
There is a small chance they will get the 4th place still though!

Burn!

There are signs of a team in there somewhere. Still some weak links though.

Lucas coming back has been big for them.

I'll eat my own socks if that happens.

It's the bread and butter teams that are the most important though. We've still not perfected it (losing to Villa and WBA) but if we can beat the cannon fodder on a consistent basis then that's 3/4s of the job done.

I was on about league form too.

Have a look at our last 20 games, then have a look at yours, then re-examine what CL form looks like.

United: WWWLWWWWWDWWWWDWWWWW

W:17 D:2 L:1 Points: 53

Next Season it's ours la: DDWDLWWLWLWWLWDDLWWW

W:10 D:5 L:5 Points: 35

Only an 18 point difference there. Next season, eh?

I would say CL form means at or very near 2 points per game average. Even in your best patches you're still not on that at the moment.

Wrong, we were slightly fortunate and at 1-2 they looked the better side.
However, earlier in the season we would definitely have lost that game.

Progress is being made, but there is a way to go yet, the next transfer window is vital.

No need to get your knickers in a twist.

Indeed, don't know why people have to f this and f that all the time - oh the cut and thrust of a well constructed debate, yeah right

Liverpool are in better league form than everyone but us since the beggining of the year right?

Impressive, January signing were good business for them.

Liverpool have been pretty good recently. The transfers in January have worked out well so far, it has helped them a lot having more than one capable attacker. The transfer window in the summer is going to be incredibly important though. Some players might be tempted with CL football elsewhere, whereas Liverpool themselves need to strengthen a bit more before being real top four contenders I feel.

True. Need a new centre half for sure, possibly 2 if we lose any of Skrtel/Agger or Coates (would be very surprised if he is at LFC for much longer).
To be honest we haven't been great defensively this season so a couple of new faces might not be a bad thing.

Other than Carragher, Coates (and perhaps Skrtel), I can't see many others moving on. However, it stands to reason that without Champions League football some players may be tempted if offers come in, I can't see that happening for another season though.

They always play better when the pressure is off and they don't have much to fight for, they've done that with daglish in his first season and everyone assumed that it's a sign of great things to come but it wasn't. Having said that, if they do get it right in the summer they might stand a chance at a top 4 finish next season but one can assume that arsenal and spurs won't make it an easy job for them.

Do you think Coutinho will be a regular starter for you next season?

Yes I do, he hasn't completed any games yet but he has just recovered from an injury.
He has already added some creativity, which was lacking, and seems to have linked up well with Suarez and Sturridge.
I have been impressed how quickly he has settled given the limited game time he has had and can see him being a regular on the left or just off the main striker.

Whether the manager will be looking to add more attacking players in the summer I don't know.

Noticed this too.

Yeah I think he will. He looks like a very good young player, he's always been highly rated im surprised Inter decided to sell him. Suarez aside I have a feeling Coutinho will be one of Liverpool's best signings in recent years.

We simply reversed the situation at WHL earlier on in the season when we were the better side but lost 2-1. Since we've acquired Sturridge & Coutinho, I've noticed a change in our style of play. We now seem to try & hit the forwards early rather than play the possession stuff we played prior to those 2 coming into the side. 15 goals in the last 4 games suggests it might be working. With still 9 games left, we've already scored more than we did in the whole of last season - (although we're not doing so well in the hitting the woodwork league table) - We'll not get 4th place this season though. As we saw against Spurs yesterday, we desperately need a strong, dominant, centre-back. I can see us conceding a lot more goals until we sort that problem out. We've been strongly linked with the young Feyenoord captain Stefan de Vrij. Can't really comment too much on him as I don't see a lot of Dutch football. Don't know if anyone on here has seem him play much. Only 21 years old, so I'm not sure he's experienced enough to take a big leap up to the PL.

I think the end to this season could be huge for Liverpool.

If they somehow scrape into 4th place (unlikely, Spurs are still 9 ahead and Chelsea 7 with a game in hand) They have to overtake two of Arsenal Spurs and Chelsea, then they could keep Suarez and Countinho and become better.

However if as expected they finish 5th or 6th, they may well lose Suarez, I doubt he will want another season not in Europes elite competition. Despite being an arsehole, hes comfortably the best goal scorer in the EPL and on playing ability deserves to be at a title chasing Champions league club.

RVP is a better goalscorer.
