Television Breaking Bad

Started watching it again, halfway through in season two. It's just as good as the first time, Walter, Jesse and Hank still great, Skyler still Skyler.

Editing Skylar out of every scene would clearly affect the quality of the show, that just sounds daft.

Mr White...

This show will live with me forever. I think with the recent decline of GOT as much as I am finding it entertaining puts this and Wire and the top of my favourite ever shows with Mad Men just behind it.

For sheer addiction and quality combined - reckon BB is my numero uno.

This.
She's annoying as hell, but that's the point of the role, and she actually makes the show better imo.

Tbf, the kind of idiots who think the show would be better with Skyler edited out are exactly the kind of idiots who wouldn't care that it no longer made any contextual or thematic sense, 'cos it was really just a show about a super cool guy and some gangsters and violence and shit. A Youtube highlight reel of badass sounding lines said to no one in particular that they can quote in a bar.

One of the most overrated TV shows of all time for me. The lead actors were good, Gus/Mike were good. The whole thing and the way it finished was laughable at best.

What are your favourite TV shows?

Skylar is up there with Daenerys as the most annoying prominent character of any television show ever.
Daenerys was one of the main reasons I stopped watching Game of Thrones. I didn't find her particularly annoying just incredibly dull.

If you edit out Skyler, don't you lose the "I am the one who knocks" line?

Not worth it.

Excuse me, this is the 'overrated drug drama' thread. Please take this discussion to the 'overrated cop drama' thread. Thanks.

Finally convinced the missus to watch this the other day.

She gasped at the pre-credits opening scene of episode 1  I reckon we've got a keeper.

I agree.

I always worked on the theory it's only as popular as it is because it was the first "big" American drama available on Netflix. Also I'm sure I read somewhere that the show would have been cancelled if it wasn't for the Netflix boom, I could be making that bit up though.

Good show, hugely overrated.

God, I miss this. Wish I could erase my memories to watch it again. I am a fan of dark, psychological type of shows. When I initially began watching this, it looked like a comedy. But then when I came to the part where Walt and Jesse try to dispose of their first kill with acid and it oozes all over Jesse's place, I realised it was more of a clever black comedy masquerading as a light hearted show. Then fast-forward a few weeks and it got terrifyingly dark, that I rate it as one of the darkest shows I have watched (and I have seen quite a few in this genre).

Ozymandias is truly one of the greatest TV episodes ever made.

It's just so well-written, in a very old fashioned, 'keep them wanting more' way. They propel the story with one jaw-dropping cliff hanger after another, to the point where it becomes like reading a classic, episodic novel. About meth.

Honestly think series 4 might be the best series of any TV show ever.

Wasn't it on AMC ? AMC=Netflix ?

It's easily one of the best shows of all time. Need to rewatch it soon.
