Booing our players...

Happens with every club. Dunno why we think our fans would be any better or special. Arsenal fans were booing Wenger after the first game this season.

I was livid. Most of the boo's were coming from the sections above me in the stretford end... but it was probably from all round, and every person that did is a stupid fecking idiots.

Also, it wasn't in reaction to him walking off, it happened as an immediate reaction to his name being called, not that that would even be an excuse for such pathetic behavior.

Unfortunately booing Arsenal was a long time coming. He only had himself to blame for that. Then finally let the purse strings go and signed Ozil, look how they're doing now

Bad times for Nani. What about HT? Assuming it had something to do with Shawcross and RVP.

Happens everywhere. Football fans are all cretins. Although I tend to just stick to a 'feck off (insert name here)' rather than a boo.

Half time wasn't too bad, a splattering off boo's immediately, followed by encouragement I thought... nowhere near on the level of that nani nonsense.

I don't agree with individually booing players like Nani, but the booing the whole team received at half time helped a bit I think.

It's all well and good supporting your team, but if you're playing that badly you need a massive kick up the ass.

Bore off.
If he looked like he give a feck he wouldn't get booed. Should we applaud some twat taking an eternity to get off when we're behind? We should be looking at Nani's attitude not that of some fans who were frustrated because they actually gave a feck about the score.

To actually boo one of your own players off like that must surely require some pretty specific or prolonged provocation, neither of which existed today.

Just because they're not booing Moyes doesn't give them a pass to target a player because he happened to have one of those days.

So instead of taking 15 seconds to get off he took 30 seconds, that's trully awful.

How about next time those twats boo our defenders for letting in silly goals? Or strikers for not scoring / being fecking useless first half?

No, this is unacceptable from our fans and this summer, when Fergie's gone and we're going through rough times many people have shown their second faces.

A shame, but it's no worse than those "fans" on United websites who obsessively slate the likes of Valencia, Young, and now Fellaini, week after week, day after day, repeating themselves ad nauseam with the same critical tiring bollocks.

I remember when Giggs was getting it as well a few years back. LoL.

It's the mentality of a man knowing every second counts in a game and just doesn't give a feck. Defending him for it is silly. One of the players even went over and told him to wise him up which brought out a disinterested jog.

The fact other clubs do it is neither here nor there. That's their business. Any fan who boos at Old Trafford can feck off as far as I'm concerned.

Nani ambling off? Get cross then, shout "fecking get a move on you stupid twat" or whatever.

But booing?

That's for pantomimes and cnuts.

Yes that's right. Nani is a sportsman who doesn't give a feck if he wins. There's a lot of those.

Noone's asking you to applaud him. Just to not be a dick and boo our own players. It's not that hard.

It had nothing to do with him walking off though, so what are you even trying to argue?

Completely different. We're on a forum and criticizing players is perfectly fine. Booing them when you're there though is completely different. I doubt they give two fecks about what people say on the internet, but when the fans get on your back during the game it doesn't help anyone, at all.

Its nowhere near the same

You just know that the ones booing are the clueless section of our "supporters" who tweet / text / call talk radio to slag Nani off after every match and have love to buy into the media propaganda that he's totally shit. They've just been waiting for the chance.

I take it all back, all your well structured arguments have won me over. We should clap and applaud like seals at a player who just didn't a single feck what the score was today. God bless him.

Pathetic, its indefensible. Let's be honest if this happened at any other club, we'd be ripping into their fans.

Perhaps his half arsed attitude that culminated in him strolling off played it's part in that.

Booing was not very good thing to do, but Nani was awful. He hasn't been any great this season except couple of moments in game. Compare that to how many chances he spurned by shooting randomly with shots not even closed, he remains the frustrating player that he is. Some of you who portray him as some kind of brilliant world-class player need to wake up. He hasn't been much better than Young so far. I was feckin livid with him whole time he was there and it was relief to see him being subbed.

Let's be honest though, Nani is a bit of a shitc**t.

If he played for any other team we'd be slagging him off all the time.

He has the the potential to be our best player, no doubt, but he's mostly rubbish/cnuty.

Not sure what your agenda is in this, he certainly didn't look like he didn't give a feck, he just had a poor performance and the more the fans got on his back the worse he got. The booing started when his name called, it had nowt to do with what you're implying it did.

So called top reds coming out of the woodwork on 606 slating the fans for booing,i'm in the camp that says they have paid their money and can voice what they want within reason.

Unless you know for a fact that Nni is a member of this forum and has been personally targeted by the club's supporters in a rather irrational way , there's not the least shred of relevance.

Top reds criticising top reds.

I wouldn't deny a football supporter the right to boo however such a response much surely require greater justification than bad day in the office.

Sometimes on the Caf or in the media the opinions of fans on forums are derided when compared to regular match goers, today shows the folly of such a a sweeping viewpoint.

fecking ruined the day a bit for me.

cnuts.

Support the team. Embarrassed to be stood amongst those people today. Hard to express how annoyed I am.

I has a season ticket for several years, and have been on here for over a decade, so qualify as both. And I can confirm that there are loads of regulars at Old Trafford who turn on our players at the drop of a hat and come across as though everything they know about the team comes from 606. Being a regular match-goer is no guarantee of having a clue.

Didn't like hearing it one bit. Criticism's one thing but booing like that is another. Nani doesn't strike me as the type of player that will just shrug off something like that either. I understand the frustration of the crowd but that kind of shit only encourages the opposition. As I said on the match thread, fans didn't boo our players at the time we were staring relegation in the face, and if they had done, the manager would have done something about it pronto. Moyes needs to get out there and defend Nani in the strongest terms possible.

In about 1967, I went to a match at home and we were stood next to some supporters who were booing Johnnie Aston. One went too far and chucked something at him as he was going to take a corner and the next thing you know he was holding his mouth that was pouring blood. After that, there were no more boos. Never saw who hit the bloke but there must have been a queue.

 Served him right, I'd say. Yes, you've paid your money - but for fecks sakes, one assumes you did so because you're a United fan, not a random twat looking for ninety minutes of diversion. You can be disappointed, even livid with a player's performance but you just don't abuse your own players. It's simply not on for me.

It's counter-productive if nothing else. When the team is struggling, it's then the fans need to be heard cheering them on. I watched the match on the box but when we went 1-2 down, you could almost feel the anger and frustration coming through the telly. The Old Trafford roar is long gone, but when Stoke fans are making more noise than us, it really bothers me.

Was a bit disgraceful. But I think it was a small minority. Most were singing and cheering us on throughout the match.

I can't ever remember this amount of booing for our own player. However bad a performance no player deserves such treatment. It's hardly going to do his confidence any good. Pathetic from the fans.

Completely classless from those that did boo, spoilt bastards.

A small minority who made a great deal of noise. I would have to say that the number of our fans that booed at Nani when he shot from long-range, until when we went off at Half-time was in the tens of thousands of supporters. Yes, it stays in the minority but that minority was large enough to make a noise. Whoever they were should be banned from Old Trafford and go back to supporting Stockport County instead. We don't need plastic fans, we do not want gloryhunters, we want supporters who are willing to support the team in the good times and the bad. Spoilt cnuts!
