Bonucci to Milan?

Seems Allegri really wanted both Bonucci and Alves out for disciplinary reasons. Bonucci would not accept a move abroad for family reasons, hence Juve having to sell him for a discount to a rival instead.

A pity how it all ended. It's been a real pleasure watching him in the Juve defense for the past seven years, even if he was a bit of a liability the first two seasons. Milan are getting a hell of a ball playing defender.

Comments from Del Piero, " If I expected? No. I see no big deal in the context of the team. It looked like a joke, the news came like a bolt from the blue ... say that it is a very, very amazing deal, I would not have thought such a thing. "

May put a tenner on Milan for the Serie A title next season if they keep on signing players like these. Belotti next?

I can't help but feel we missed out. We could offer them some money plus Jones and Smalling? Lol

He wouldn't leave Italy.

How exactly did we keep as out, considering we are not relaocating to Italy / Serie A anytime soon?

not sure how accurate this is, but bonucci and alves both fell out quite badly with allegri in the CL final so maybe something to do with that. Got this from elsewhere, but take it with a pinch of salt i suppose

There has also been this going around as well.

Alves and Bonucci were right. Dybala did play like a pussy.

Always hard to know the truth with rumours, but this at least fits with what we know. Alves was generally considered to have had a great season last year, and Bonucci's been lauded as the best CB around for a couple of seasons now. To let one terminate his contract early and leave with no fee, and the other go to a direct rival for half the price most people think he's worth, well, its clearly not down to sporting or financial reasons.

So there were different seasons and the second season finale was Juve playing like pussies in that second half.

Italian soap opera.

From like a day ago, was he trolling

How so? Doesn't mention Juve in the text, he's not wearing any Juve apparel. Just says that he's ready to start training again. In fact, I think he even deleted his status as a Juve player from his instagram bio.

I don't think you post that whilst a transfer is going through.

New details - he's signing a 5 year deal (not 4), and earning 8m/year + 2 in bonus. This will make him the highest earner in the league, surpassing the 7.5m/year of Higuain and Dybala.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. Way more to this than is known in public for now. Still magnificent deal for Milan.

That's huge money for Milan - like £260k + bonuses a week pre-tax.

Don't see the big issue here. They still have Chiellini and Barzagli is seriously underrated. I expect him to step up and seamlessly take over Bonucci's role.

Barzagli was Juve's and Italy's best defender 2011-2014 but is nowadays 36 years old - the case has rather been the opposite.

Rugani and Benatia will fight for Bonucci's spot instead, and Caldara is loaned out to Atalanta this year but could be recalled.

Fair enough Dybala bottled it. Players like Keane would have had the same reaction.

Really poor from Juve, he and chiellini were monsters at the back last season and he can probably play at the top level until hes 35. Huge signing for Milan

Barzagli is 36. Actually Bonucci (30) is younger than both as Chiellini is 32 also. This is a great signing for Milan from every prospective from proving a point to getting a great defender who can still give for many years as most Italian defenders become better as they're getting older.

Juve can't keep losing players and and say it's normal. It'll backfire someday.

They've got Benatia and Rugani who's highly rated, so I don't think it's a HUGE deal, but Bonucci is obviously a great defender. Perhaps they feel he is better in a back 3 though.

It's a big loss. It's their leader, their heart. First they lost Vidal, then Pogba, now Bonucci and next year Buffon will retire. Talent is not everything (Rugani, next year they get Caldara back).
Bonuccis game opening is so important for Juve. They want to win the CL, but losing a key man every year.

They are run strictly as a business, now growing their turnover organically (new crest for new commercial ideas at global level) while competing at QF base level in European CL, well below Madrid, United and Bayern revenues. The salary Bonucci is getting from Milan is the highest in Italy (7.5m euros/year + bonuses for 2.5m euros/year) and still beyond the reach of Juve these days. You can literally buy anyone from them if the player wants to go and the club makes a good profit according to their accounting books (age, salary, marketing potential). Hopefully Cancelo will replace Alves at RB and Caldara for Bonucci as CB, expecting other moves from this rebuilding phase after six year at full throttle and more next year after WC 2018.

I have read some Juventus forums sometimes and every summer they just laugh when there is rumours about selling their best players. And almost every summer they sell one of their best players. It was same with Pogba. And after that, they hope injuries to Pogba too. Sick people. I can't say that i don't enjoy this a little bit. They deserve it.

Very good signing from Milan. Huge statement and Bonucci will be very important player for them.

They're having a bigger summer clear out than I do on FM!

Still can't believe this has actually happened. A top 3 finish and a strong showing in the Europa League this year will only help buy even better players next year. I fully expect the team to be challenging for the Serie A in 2/3 years time, with continued support from the owners and shrewd management of the players already at the club.

I'm really happy for Milan and their fans. They have had a very long and tough road of patience on the club going down these past years that they deserve a reward for their patience. The club is going on the right track in almost every aspect, a board willing to spend and prove a point, a good manager and getting a very good set of player. They should finish at least 3rd next season, getting back to CL will make them move even more farther up and letting them getting much better players.

Milan is back on the track.

I don't find that very ambitious with the team you currently have you should be contenders to push Juve all the way. If you add a good striker like Belotti or Auba (which you really should) and maybay one more creative player to spice things up upfront together with Hakan, Kessie in midfield and Rodriguez and De sciglio as fullbacks, Bonucci and Romagnioli as CB pair and Donna in goal you almost have a worldclass team that could knick it from Juve. Now ofcourse you need time to gell it all together and balance it out but that should not take you 2/3 seasons, atleast if you can keep onto your big players that is.
