Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

They keep saying we want the taxpayer to fund the stadium and the surrounding area when the noise has been that isn't true, right. The stadium is United's cost, the surrounding area the government's. As it should be.

But can someone please remind me how City got their stadium built please?

Their stadium wasn't even built by or for them. They still don't even own it and are paying a ridiculous rental fee that is unfair on local Mancunians.

Precisely. Their blind ignorance once again.

Why is it unfair? Mancunians benefit from the revenue the rent brings in

Pep contract thread + Erik sacked
If Pep did leave hopefully he doesn’t, but I can see us going for Amorim. Viana and him working together with a higher budget to what they had at Sporting. Plus looking at his stats for manager he’s got 70 percent win rate at Sporting.
I believe Ten Hag had a 70 plus win rate at Ajax. It is a lot different when you get to the Premier League. Coaches coming from small leagues carry a lot of risk
...
Just watched Pep’s pre-match presser.

He gives nothing away but if had to bet I think this is his last season… just a gut feel.

I’d like him to do one more and City appoint Amorim then. I can’t see him staying beyond next season at all.
Amorim is a punt, we need pedigree.

Inzaghi is a brilliant tactician.
He is a punt (careful typing that) but so was Pep at Barca and Wenger at Arsenal. When it works it works really well.
Inzaghi at Inter would be an option, I'd rule out Amorim though - you don't go from Sporting to City without a step in between
If Pep were to remain for another year. Would it be feasible for his replacement, to join him and start the rebuild together. Not sure if Amorim will be that man, but I’m sure he’d except the role knowing he’d be in charge when Pep leaves
Now that Txiki's replacement, Hugo Viana has been announced and speculation that Ruben Amorim will take over from Pep I wonder if City's UCL fixture against Sporting could be delaying the announcement of Pep's future, if its him leaving and Amorim taking over in the summer? This also fits in with the next international break in November
Depends if he wants to manage when the new stand has been built
Make him sign for two years and as part of the deal let him open the new stand which is named after him
It’s 10 years for a statue therefore 9 gets you nothing Pep
I’d be very happy with Amorim or Alonso.

Inzaghi has done well at Inter too but rarely gets a mention. Quite attacking too.
Makes sense because like Barca 15 years ago 90% of the credit for Sporting’s success seems to be on Amorim not Viana. I’m sure Viana is good, but if the upper management think Amorim is the next long term appointment for City then the “get his best mate DOF in” strategy has worked pretty well so far.
The Amorim news is true as far as I know. Heard the other day that he's number one if Pep goes.
Amorim in when Pep goes, Viana the 1st piece of the jigsaw for a new dynasty.
Pep signs 1 year deal until 2026 - pep then takes over from tuchel when his contract with England expires in 2026 - city appoint amorim who’s contract also expires in 2026….Thats my guess
I'm pretty certain Pep's replacement will be Amorim whenever it happens.
“When the moon hits the sky like big pizza that’s Amorim”

I’ll get my coat..
When the ball hits the goal and it’s tactical that’s Amorim?
If Pep wants Alonso to follow him then thats what will happen imo, just hope we sort Wirtz then as well!
I think that once Hugo Viana is in place in the new year, he will have a say and he simply adores Rubin Amorim..... just saying ;-)

Personally, I would be 'over-the-Bluemoon' with either!
It’s almost like the new sporting director has no say whatsoever.
Xabi Alonso has RM written all over him. Reports in Germany saying he’s leaving Leverkusen at the end of this season. Timeline doesn’t really add up.
Rúben Amorim on the other hand.
But if our job is only available in 2026 and let’s say Madrid becomes available in 2025…

I still think it’s Amorim for us.
Yeah, personally I think Amorim is more likely too. Just hope Pep stays a bit longer.
- Pep’s new City deal will expire in 2026
- Amorim’s Sporting contract expires in 2026
- Tuchel’s England deal expires in 2026, at the start of a new tournament cycle

Tuchel is England’s Pellegrini, just a capable stop-gap until the all-timer arrives.

Pretty clear what’s going to happen and why Pep acted a little weird when asked about England.
Viana and Amorim describe their relationship in exactly the same way that Pep and Txiki describe theirs. That bodes well and hints at Amorim to replace Pep.
I think it's the right thing to do. Pep's a one off and trying to cling on to his legacy would be a mistake in my opinion. Liverpool seem to be transitioning ok post Klopp having started afresh. The absolute worst thing anyone could do is copy United's decade long mourning period post Ferguson.

They'll get Southgate. Amorim will sit tight at Sporting if he has any sense and wait and see what's happening with Peps departure.
Now that Txiki's replacement, Hugo Viana has been announced and speculation that Ruben Amorim will take over from Pep I wonder if City's UCL fixture against Sporting could be delaying the announcement of Pep's future, if its him leaving and Amorim taking over in the summer? This also fits in...
Wasn't this Amorim guy the dippers first choice to replace Klopp but he knocked them back?
The Amorim news is true as far as I know. Heard the other day that he's number one if Pep goes.
Good to see a succession plan. Amorim looks an absolute shoe-in to be our next manager - either in summer 2025 or 2026.
Why wouldn't you want Amorim at City
Just the person he is and how he treats his players not a good fit for us!
Notice now the media saying Amorim has a way of playing 3-4-3 well Ten Bob had a style of play his first two premier game he set his team up to play the pep way they got stuffed and moved away from his way of playing as a manager and went to a defensive set up!

Amorim to Man United talks
I am really surprised at this, why would he go to UTD? Even if Pep does another year, its not much longer.

Genuinely surprised - he will regret that
They may be but he like others before him may not want to touch it with a barge pole. They are no longer the attraction they once were so let's wait and see.
Great Manager wasting his talent going there.
Maybe he’ll go there for 2 years to gain experience of the league then move onto a bigger job and a team who will be challenging for trophies ;-)
Hope Amorin stays put. But then I thought that about Ten Hag when he was at Ajax.
No surprise the rags have swept in, though. Omar plus their usual shadowing of our (apparent) targets made it inevitable. Hope he suffers from the Sanchez, Sancho, Maguire etc. failure gene if it happens!
Typical of United to appoint someone we apparently liked!
His CV is very thin for a major job likes ours. I was really hoping he wouldn't be Pep's successor. The Portuguese league to our league is a huge step up.
What a surprise, city linked with Amorim if Pep leaves. Now he's in talks with the scum to be thier manager.

We should have said we were interested in allardyce as our next manager. He'd soon be linked or in talks with the scum.
City know exactly what’s happening, I think they threw Amorim,s name out there just so the rags take the bait like they have done in the past with certain players .
It’s like the sad bastards whole existence these days is to try and get one over on us fecking laughable! A couple of years ago all we heard from the media was that tent peg was the best young coach in Europe. They’re trotting out the same lines again with this guy. If he can’t turn them around and the zebra clad Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime turn on him then who are they going to blame?
So have the rags got a jump on us with signing Amorim? That fecker Berrada would have known the managers we were looking at after Pep? Or more hype again?
Yep - just like they did with Pogba, Sanchez, Berbatov, Ronaldo, Falcao etc.
Some "jump".
Don't forget Harry Maguire mate, Rags completely rinsed us when they jumped in ahead of us for him.

The only jump the Rags will take is going from 14th to 12th and that's being ambitious.
Wonder if he will get away with screaming obscenities at refs like Fernandes as well ?
I wonder if Real Madrid have offered to pay his release clause...? Be hilarious if he's using the rags for a 'better' job.
Amorim wants to test the waters of the Prem, so he is going to a small club with a view to moving to a big one later.
Amorim knows we are fecked with the 115 charges, and doesn't want to be coaching in league 2.
never heard of the bloke TBH i thought Amorim was a branded topical cream for piles, ah well
Absolute scenes when, in true Robinho style, Amorim suddenly realises he isnt in discussions with City :-)
If amorim goes to the rags then pep must be extending
Says to me that we haven’t spoken to him about being Pep’s successor
I don't hate Amorin but I didn't think he was right for the City job.

I want Pep to stay!

And most importantly I know although we hate the dippers.. they had a successful transition of managers from Shankly - Paisley - Fagan - Daglish and that's the biggest proof that you don't want to do what the rags did and bring in a new manager where the players start to feel they know more than the manager!

You have to promote from within.. someone who is respected and knows the system that has worked for a long time.

So I've still got my suspicions that Gundogan will be Pep's replacement when he's ready. Fernanindho, Rodri and Vinny are the other 3 I think could be in the conversation.
I think Utd have dropped lucky with Amorim. He'd been on our radar for a while and Pep's situation becomes ever more important as a result. He'll be expected to dislodge the Tarquins and scousers pretty quickly. Go on Pep - stay a few more years.
Only signed a 2 1/2 year contract which is telling
Not saying he would come to us but would certainly go to Madrid or Barca if he did well
I thought City had come out with a statement to the effect that they have not been interested in Amorim & furthermore, both Dippers & West Ham looked at him but turned him down??
City came out with no statements.
I think he was on our radar, but his style is not really akin to Pep's - he's more of a Maureen tactically - low block against the better sides, and we lost interest. We don't do low blocks (not in our chemistry) - no matter how many attacking superstars we have to face.
Amorin was never mentioned linked with us until their director of football was coming , then all the amateur experts put 2 & 2 together to asume he would come here.

He spoke to west ham, but they wouldn't pay the release fee as sulivan a skinflint and liverpool, though linked opted for slot.

Not that it matters as the rag press will claim he rejected them and us.
Part of me thinks United have leaked the Amorim stuff vividly because they have got some backlash from fans for being so slow to pull the trigger on Ten Hag. Amorim is probably one of the candidates right now that can get United fans the most excited because of how hyped he is, and how little they know about him. Might be wishfull thinking because I like him, but I think this will go cold and we will see United distance themselves from him.

Put it this way, they were whoring themselves out all summer while Amorim were publically in talks with both Liverpool (who he allegedly demanded full power of transfers at) and West Ham who he probably turned down, and they ended up signing a new contract with the worst manager they have ever had who had been a dead man walking for almost a year at that point. I don't see how any this adds up to a shrewd move now, if anything it makes them look even less competent which begs the question why Amorim wants the job. I think they are trying to play the media

The utter arrogance of this claim

Its true though, Sporting - a historic club, to City is quite a step down to suddenly make for anybody with any integrity or concern about how history will judge them. Why would an exciting young coach like Amorim risk his long term reputation by joining a club known all over the world for cheating?

Why is it unfair? Mancunians benefit from the revenue the rent brings in
Because it should be a lot more, City are supposedly one of the top earners in world football yet paid nothing for their stadium (unlike others who must pay billions) and pay measly 3m a year for the full rights

At 1-0:

Have that you rag ****
Rubin Imarag.

Report that, british media.
tu3xhUI.gif
feck rim job
Get in there!

Let’s fecking show this Rag **** up tonight, COME ON CITY!

At 4-1:

A rare moment of clarity
We've been schooled tonight by a coach who's playing a much more modern and exciting style of football. Put Haaland up front for these and he would have scored 5 tonight.

Ah if only they could spend more money
Why are people surprised about this and how this season is going in general?
Our buts have been appalling for some times with only odd decent ones like gvardiol.
Nunes- awful
Kova - not good enough
Gundo - too old
Doku - not good enough
Savinho - too raw, may come good. Who knows.
Then you have lewis who is piss weak.
Keeping walker whos legs have gone.
A permanent failure to get any sort of cover for rodri.

With repeated shite transfer windows… this is the result

Depression sets in
Like Bournemouth, any goal is simply papering over cracks at this point.

We’re so poor. Teams are having field days against us.

Should have been 6. Gyokeres was clean through in the first half and only had to pass it either side of Ederson. And in the second half, he just needed to square it and the other chap had a tap in.

The most remarkable thing about this game is that in the first half, Sporting were way off the pace. They were playing a low tempo passing game and couldn't handle the press and pace of City. Then at half-time the coach adapted his tactics and blew City out of the water. They went up a few gears, played through the press and within two passes they were in on goal multiple times.

Are we seeing the evolution of football coaching? Someone who can adapt and change a teams tactics to counteract what the opponent is doing, not only to stop them, but to be able to hurt them so effectively as well.

Tonight was a real eye opener for the world of football.

And he's our new coach!!!!

Get the feck in!
