Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

Tonight was not the best performance I have seen by us but theres certainly no need yet for such drastic action. We should have learnt many times by now that sacking the manager does not help one bit. There is no one avilable what so ever at present thats any better than Mancini.
It's still in our own hands regarding qualifying for the next stage, we are on target in the league and everyone is now fit. Its time to get down to business now and the next 2 games are crucial.
You just know Maradonna is going to end up as manager though

You bitters are funny feckers, almost up there with the scousers.

I think there are plenty of managers who could do better with that squad. Mark Hughes for one and Ian Holloway for another. Even Roy Hodges might shut up about 'rebuilding' and win game or two.

Get real. Mark Hughes was a nice guy who was out of his depth. The likes of Bridge, Lescott, Santa Cruz and SWP are just not good enough and they are all Hughes fault. It was not hte best last night and its no good going on about luck but things need to improve starting Sunday. Let Mancini get his strongest team on the pitch and I am certain you will see a world of difference. Big 2 games coming up and its time for the players to sort it out and no excuses

As for Hughes, Holloway and Hodgson. Mancini is younger than all 3 probably and hes won more than all of them put together. Hes also handled big personalities so to speak and we need to give him time to get it right instead of knee jerk reactions

It difficult to bring in top players when not in Europe. You can't just easily turn around a squad from relegation fodder to Premiership contenders at a flick/cheque book Dave.

Has Mancini got more points at this stage in the season than Hughes had when he was in charge, despite spending a shit-load of additional cash? I don't think he has.

And correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't newtonheathdave been banging on about how De Jong and Tevez are their most important players? Who signed them? And where are the Mancini signings taking the league by storm?

I know mate and I agree with you thats why you will get no knee jerk reactions of me. I did not want Hughes sacked as I have seen where sacking the manager gets you. Was a silly thing to do last year with Sparky, might have well as let him finish the season but it put us in a difficult position as Sparky would have wanted to buy again in the Jan and I don't think they trusted him with any more cash.
Also my own opinion here is that the board were worried about the Hughes ability to attract top players rather than decent premier league players. Would Balotelli and Silva have come under Hughes? I doubt it. Sparky got us on our way, bought the likes of Kompany and De Jong but he made too many mistakes with replacing Hart with Given being unforgiveable in my eyes.
The next 2 gamesare key now for Mancini. If hes lost the dressing room as people are making out then we are not going to get positive results out of these games. But I think Sunday will be the first opportunity for him to get HIS first choice 11 out. Lets see how they do and I fully expect them to beat United next week, yes that may be a little blind faith but I think we will turn united over
I have seen City produce a lot of shit over the years and believe me this is as good as its ever been in my lifetime. The attitutde of some of my fellow blues stinks and you thought they would have learnt over the years. 2 good results over the next few days and its all systems go again. Its time for Balotelli and Tevez to get to work

I think Hughes had one or two more points at the same stage last year.

Mark Hughes had 2 more points at this stage of the season but Hughes had not played all the top 4 teams by game 12 like Mancini would have. I fully expect City to still be in the top 4 come Boxing day. where as we were floundering mid table-ish when Sparky was sacked.
De Jong and Tevez are Citys most important players and I give Sparky his due for getting De Jong but theres no way on earth Tevez was bought by Hughes, he would have had no choice in that. As for Mancinis signings

Johnson - probably bought by Marwood
Milner - Probably bought by Marwood
Boateng - Not played
Kolarov - not played
Balotelli - not played
Yaya - not ripped any trees up yet but will settle
Silva - Absolute class player, will be so important for City
Plus he had the sense to drop Given and replace him with Hart.

Lets see where we are when everything is settled and up and running. No need to pamic yet

Why hasn't he played, out of interest? Injured? He's surely a better option than Bridge.

The Given/Hart thing can't be held against Hughes. He had the good sense to give Hart a season out on loan, which was the making of him. I'm sure he would have made the exact same decision as Mancini this summer but this doesn't mean he could or should have flung Hart in at the deep end 12 months ago.

Boateng has been injured, he damaged his leg on a drinks trolley playing for Germany. Hes had 2 games back now so should be getting back into it now. For me htis is Citys best team and I expect something very similar player wise although tactically it maybe 4-3-3 rather than 4-2-3-1 for the upcoming games

That team is good enough and there should be no excuses now

the feck?!

the feck?!

air hostess hit him on the plane with it lol. Typical city

the worrying thing for me is the fact IF Mancini goes then City WILL appoint Maradonna. Tevez will be on to the owners about it and lets be honest here, no other manager in world football, not even Jose or Fergie would boost the profile of the club as much as Diego would and thats what the owners want. Plus Diego would be able to probably attract most players in world football to the club. Its just got typical City wrote all over this one

Mancini played 3 holding midfielders at Inter, he won't change now.

He had his leg stretched in the aisle and the stewardess crashed (with trolley) into his knee

Hadn't occurred to me but if that does happen it will be funnier than getting run over by a drinks trolley!

I do agree with you, in general. Sacking Mancini would be silly. Stability is the key. I often think that when you're talking about clubs spending as much money as Chelsea, City or Madrid it really doesn't matter who's in charge, so long as they're even half-decent as a manager.

If the owners give them a enough time to see their project through there's loads of manager who could build great sides at those three clubs. Chopping and changing constantly to find the perfect manager is madness. It's the insane impatience of the owners which is usually the biggest hindrance to long-term success. Thank feck.

Would it not be better if Silva and Milner swapped positions?

It's quite something despite Spending Millions City's best player is Tevez. A player who never excelled at United, and looked quite ordinary in many games.

To be fair I don't understand how any of us can complian. Look at citys team from the opening game of the season 2 years ago when we got tonked of Villa 4-2

--------------------------------Joe Hart-----------------------------------

Vedran Corluka----- Tal Ben Haim----- Micah Richards---Javier Garrido

Etuhu------ Gelson Fernandes---- Michael Johnson-------Martin Petrov

-------------------------------Elano
-------------------------------------- Ched Evans

Now if you had told any blue after this game that within 2 years from this we would be in 4th position, have the team we have now, Mancicni in charge. Nevermind all the other stuff thats gone on then they would have laughed at you. A reality check is needed. Just by looking at that team I have put and our current team I posted earlier then you can see how far we have come in such a short space of time. I am much happier today than I was 2 seasons ago. Let the media and all the idiots demand instant success and laugh at us if it does not come. But with a bit of patience I am certain City will have the last laugh as we are heading in the right direction
It's been a long time since City have been challenging at the right end of the top division and been a genuine threat. The games against United in the cup and at the swamp plus Spurs for champs league place were some of them most exciting City matches I have seen. I want more of that and I want to enjoy it after putting up with all the shit over the years. A few dodgy results is not the end of the world and I like I said with a bit of patience we will come good

as you seem like quite a rational chap, i must say i agree with what you´ve said, the change has been quite impressive (not withstanding the odd blip or three) and you are starting to get the makings of a good solid team, i´m still not convinced by a few of your players or your manager but you can see that you´re not that far away from the present "big boys" and i reckon you´ll soon be challenging for honours.

Yeah, funny the way a sugar daddy spending hundreds of millions of pounds can turn round a clubs fortunes, isn't it?

Won't stop us laughing though. If any club goes on such a vulgar spending spree to try and buy success they can expect to have people gloating at the first sign of adversity. You're gonna have to get used to that in the coming years.

Well Eriksson's 2007-8 team beat Man Utd home and away and played some nice football in the process, this lot don't look any better.

Are you for real? Erikssons team started of well and as soon as it got cold they were useless. They ended up that season in relegation form and on the last day of the season there was the most diabolical City performance ever when we got humilated at Boro. I have seen some shit in the past beleive me and that was the worse.

Erikssons signings for City -
Bianchi
Elano
Corluka
Petrov
Geovanni
Garrido
Bojinov

Not one of them players would get in City's team now nor would they get into any other of the top clubs with the exception of maybe Corluka.

Mancini's team is a world away from Erikssons team and beating united every season can not be City's only motivation any more. Teams are raising their games now against City just like we used to do against United. Its up to City rise above that now and start getting results

Well, you'll finish outside top 4 and get beaten home and away by Man Utd while spending shedloads of money and playing the dullest football outside of Blackburn, which looks like a worse season to me.

well thats uniteds loss and citys gain

I'm not sure Dave.

You could also argue looking a world beater seems to suggest the players around him are just not up to standard, and do not reflect the silly transfer fees paid. Despite United not spending any significant amounts of money over the last couple of years, I can't see beyond a couple of City players I would have in a United shirt.

I dissagree with you on that as I think we will finish in the top 4 quite easily. But as for getting beat of United, well its nothing new. After losing 3 matches in injury time last season and one of them being the first cup semi final since 81 ( when I was 1 year old ) then you could say I would know how to deal with that. As for the money point you raise, firstly it's not my money, it's not been robbed, oxtorted or borrowed so I don't really care.

You seem fairly certain in your predictions, come back at the end of the season and lets see how it works out. But even if it is a worse season then it will be no where as bad as I have seen previously and if success was all I was arsed about then I certainly would not be a Manchester City fan would I?
