Give up.
this is the one i was referring to in my compilation of his touches . the little hand on the defender's face makes it look so much extra disrespectful
Literally just came here to post it. Best quality I could find. The way he just took it out the air and dropped it dead...
True! Perhaps an underrated player, but I've seen a lot of Barcelona in my younger days and I liked the first touches of Ronald de Boer. Awesome technique.I am not allowed to post videos but this thread is incomplete without Zinedine Zidane.
Certainly under-appreciated. I think he's the only player I've seen who took and scored an overhead (bicycle) kick on their weaker foot because the ball came across him from the other side.True! How greedy was Georgie Best!
He must have been infuriating to play with at times - probably wasn't a whole lot of fun playing against him either.
In my opinion you just posted it. That's amazing!Another one. Yes, I love those kind of threads. What I mean are not fancy or tricky movements but simple, great first touches that leave defenders for dead. Either at high speed without losing pace or after passes which were very hard to control. Touches that don't necessarily look that incredible in the first moment but immense in the replays.
Something like this:
Move starts @ 2:27. RvN's touch of his chest was absolutely perfect there.
That Bergkamp goal against Argentina is glorious but let's be honest: the commentator is the best thing about it.
Context though: it was in the final minutes of a World Cup quarter-final. Pulling that off in that situation is rather brilliant.I honestly think that's one of the most overrated goals.
*goes into hiding*

It is. I'm pretty obsessed with good first touches, but I now believe the zenith of first touches was reached whenever it was that Bagio did that. You see Suarez, Bergkamp, Messi are all excellent efforts, but second touches were involved after taking an assured first touch. With this example, it's all one move! Incredible!Isn't it? Randomly came across that goal and decided such touches are worth a thread
Maybe not the best ever but still good. I love this goal. Rooney vs. Arsenal.
Berbatov had a great touch, but it's exagerrated massively on the internet by armchair fans.
He played the game at walking pace and a lot of the clips you see of him bringing the ball down happen when he's stationary. Trapping the ball on the run - or even more difficult, when you're going at full pace - is a much more impressive skill.
