Damn that is a great album. Kudos for bringing that one to the table, great sound for an early 80's album.
Not that is strange, Ken Scott produced the album so he has had his fingers in some of the best albums ever made.

All of those are still on fairly regular rotation for me.
 
Perhaps controversially, I don't think the first album by The Smiths is all that good. Certainly the weakest of their albums.

Most have been mentioned but Ready to Die was an awesome debut too, surprised there has been no mention.
 
Killing Joke's self titled debut has some fairly awesome tunes on it.
