Best crests in football?

Each to their own, and you can't argue with taste. But I thought I'd share my thoughts as I'm a graphic designer, and my views probably reflect a lot of professional opinions of other graphic designers/professionals.

Hmm yeah fair enough. I don't know much about graphic design but we often have this debate in music. Being a musician, discussing what is "good music" vs "bad music". To me, if someone likes something it's good and if not it's bad for them. There's no universal definition (imo). I do think a lot of people love the Juve logo especially compared to the last one.

I have zero knowledge about logos/graphic design and it just looks very modern to me so the fact that they conveyed that to someone ignorant of how and why something is modern is kinda cool

I Also like the typography they use. It has a lot of straight edges and is very clean/modernistic. The edges in the typography gives it elements of danger (Same with Wolves hard edges logo).

As a graphic designer there's so Much Id want to Change in the first 5 logos in the OP. Oldham's need cleaning up/more simplicity around the edges (too much indifferent complexity around the edges). Valencia's has great colors and concept, but the shape of the badge is way too long for me, making it an awkward much space below the football. Id probably make the bottom part less long and have the ball centered vertically in the bottom-part for more balance. But when people have looked a lot on one thing for a long time, they are often not glad for there to be changes to what they already know.

In that regard, I think Juve has done very well, but they also play to modernistic vibes that people in this era are used to. The style and feel of the typography fits right into a modern Adidas/Nike commercial, hence why it might be easier for people to embrace the logo.

Ours and it's not even close, honestly.

Outside United, this one:

The pinnacle of modern/minimalist design in world football. The first to apply it as definitive modern branding in it's logo:

2-3 years on and that thing still looks like an abomination. Right down there with shit like this.

The biggest shame is Juve had one of the nicest and most iconic club badges around.

I like how Luton Town just threw the kitchen sink at their crest.

There is something soothing in the idea of a lion so lustily going after a bunch of bananas.

But Plymouth's I genuinely find to be soothing.

Botswana have a couple of guys good at crossing.

I don't get Thailand's badge, but I like it. A bit like the movie, Primer.

My favourite badge is Atlanta United’s. Simple but classy, I love red, black and gold combos.

I'm not a graphic designer but am in full agreement. Terrible badge, it's supposed to be Juventus not Jermaine Jenas FC.

Two more, one of which I can't believe hasn't been listed yet:

And how about this for quirky and odd:

Swindon’s rebrand was one of the worst ever. Their old badge was really unique and kind of cool. The new one is both generic and amateurish looking.

Another rubbish new badge is the Barnsley one. While the Toby Tyke badge is definitely naff, it brings back childhood memories of ‘90s sticker albums.

Nobody ever talks about how bad
Burnley’s badge is. Look at the state of it:

Wigan did a decent job with their cleaner badge a few years back:

but personally I prefer the old coat of arms-style one they had:

Croatian league has a nice collection of prehistoric I could have done it in Paint badges.

I can forgive the design because there's never any shortage of clubs trying to force some Latin bollocks in or incorporate elements from the coat of arms. Considering that the club is nicknamed 'The Clarets', it's the dominance of blue and yellow that gets me. It was always the dominant colour on their kits. Also should have done away with one of the bees and kept the red rose of Lancashire on it, which is something that makes Blackburn Rovers' otherwise ordinary badge look quite decent.

A simple design I've always been keen on:

Never had anything overly positive to say about Fener's badge, but I think it comes alive when seen on the shirt. I read up on what it means and it sounded like a load of waffle to me.

New Hull City badge from next season, seems more of an evolution to the last two we've had but at least the name is on it again.

I don't get the making history part is though :wenger:

Haha, it says fart.

Here is a good one from Austria (SKN St. Pölten) even though their fans don't like the new one

New one with their sponsor in it

That new one is just awful. And the sponsor is a super budget mobile phone service, which having that on your crest is embarrassing. But it's also Austrian football, so we're not talking about high standards.

The club I support looks like the badge was made in MSPaint ...
