Is he really that good? How many good seasons did he have? I for one didn't have any idea about him last year round.

Over 20 pages after a day, can't believe what's going on here. City are still shambles at the back, they still don't have a replacement for Yaya coming in. These things will come back to haunt Guardiola, just like what happenend last season.

City can't invest more than 200 mil., so spending 70 mil on another attacker isn't the best kind of business.

No other clubs signed any player. I don't think their fans are overreacting as us.

The summer window isn't even open officially.
 
I have to say, missing out on a player I've only seen a handful of times who we weren't even interested in really makes the last few days worthless, I've pretty much forgotten all about winning a major European trophy and getting automatic CL qualification and am now rubbing myself in Vaseline whilst crywanking to YouTube clips of him and debating my futile existence.
 
Excellent signing by City. Doubly annoying because he would have been great for us.

Also smart of them to realise that Monaco is the rich club's buffet this summer and it's going to be first come, first served.
 
At 70m, that is a big gamble that I am fine we paased on.

In fairness, City should also work well for him well, as he can slowly settle in and when David Silva gets older, De Bruyne can play more central and he starts on the flank.

No club can buy all the best players, and even if a club did, they still have to blend them into a team. What we need are key additions that will form the core and fit into Mourinho's system. The squad is being rebuilt and it wont be done in a single summer window.

But they haven't signed those players, so need to worry about it now, and if we take a little bit more time but end up with Greizmann, Belotti, Sanches, Marquinhos, whilst retaining DDG, wouldn't that be 'keeping up'?

We'll do great things this window imo, but so will City, and Chelsea, which is fair enough, and nothing new.

I asked the same question but didn't get a reply.

I think he caught alot of peoples eye with his performance againest City (Certainly caught mine) but before that I hadn't heard much about him or noticed him.
 
Excellent signing for city. If he develops as expected he'll be the best player in the league. If h's gone for 43million, Woodwards an idiot.
 
why are people going insane over this? i mean yeah he looks a good player. but not like a 70mil+ player

looking at his stats they are solid but not great. he would be a good buy for us too sure but not for that money.
some people here are insane how can you go mental just because city buy a player that was hardly known by anyone a year ago.

we will have a good window with the right players for us. you can't buy all of them.

Bbc are reporting it is £43m
 
Looks a good price, a good purchase by City, ah well, when we're looking to buy our way back to the league title, we can't really expect our rivals to all just sit on their hands.
 
It's probably £43 million plus add ons. If it's not then it was a great deal especially this early in the transfer window
 
How are people getting depressed over this? We've just won a European trophy I couldn't care less about this tbh
 
Can't you guys just be happy he's signed for realistic market value!
