If that happens there will me mass muppets sucide, because thats 15000K post in 10 day, so 1500 post per day :wenger:

I wouldn't be surprised at all. There seems to be about 1,000 posts each day, and imagine the wanking that would take place if we sign him.

I think we could still win the league without him. Need is the wrong word imo.

Two reasons; 1. I doubt SAF would ever play that team. 2. Trying to accommodate too many attacking players in the team never really helps the teams balance.

it's not really about that.

as SAF himself has mentioned on many occasions, it's about having different options.

we don't have a Berbatov-type player; and, bar Campbell - who's very inexperienced and untried at this level - we don't really have a genuine centre forward.

True but options do. We cant play one attacking system all season

Even without Berbatov we can play more than one attacking system. I'm one of the few people who thinks Campbell is a good option in our team and I'm also a fan of the idea of playing Rooney right up top, so I think we have a few options.

I wouldn't call Berbatov a genuine centre forward, but I definitely agree he would give us another very good option.

two reasons youd hate to see that side is because you "doubt SAF would ever play that team"?? how do you know that? i think he would, our current system would be perfect for it against the majority of teams.

that team is well balanced defenisvely, in the middle and going forward where it is very fluid, especially with evra on the left balancing it out.

We could win it without him, but our chances would be increased with him in it, some games we need his kind of player because a rooney and tevez combo isnt best suited, we will be much more adaptable and have a much bigger squad to choose from when injuries, fatigue, form and bans take their toll

berbatov is a centre forward just with many other assets to his game than your average centre forward, he has an element of genius in him which would certainly make him a success here

We do have a few options, undoubtedly. But there's only so long we can ride our luck with our current attacking options. One of the main reasons we did so well last year was the variety in midfield. Luckily Ronaldo stayed fit all year as well. If things go the wrong way we need options and even if Campbell is good enough, which I think he has a chance of being, three strikers is hardly enough for a top team.

He might play it when his options are stretched and he needs to, but I am willing to make a bet he will never start with that team in that formation.

That's true on paper, but it would take a hell of a lot of work on the training ground. That would only be if we were going to use that as a regular formation, which I don't think we will.

That's all very true. Which is what I have said the whole time, he will give us more options to withstand injuries etc. I just think need gives off the impression we are desperate, I really don't think we are.

Depends what you would call a centre forward, he drops deep a hell of a lot for someone I would call a centre forward. He is a wonderful player, but not a centre forward imo.

What else could you classify him? Surely not supporting striker...

I agree with everything up until the last part. Chelsea have Anelka, Drogba and Di Santo as their three main striking options(with Kalou being able to play up front in the same way Ronaldo can) and then they have Shevchenko as another option but I am very confident that if both Saha and Shevchenko stay, Saha will play more games.

They are in a similar situation to us. I think both teams could cope with those three main strikers along with Kalou(if need be) and Shevchenko as back-ups for Chelsea and Ronaldo(if needs must) and Saha as back-ups for us.

He's unique in that his physical presence (along with other attributes) makes him a very capable centre forward but he has tendencies to drop deep more than most centre forwards.

So I would just classify him as a striker. Berbatov is Berbatov, he's special.

ok maybe not that exact team but i bet he starts a few games with all 4 of them playing, maybe a hargreaves carrick pair would suit it better in midfield. I was just displaying that team and formation to get a few cocks out. lol

i think we are desperate, to improve our weakness and nto stagnate, i think chelsea will win something this season, if we dont sign berbatov or a good striker who will improve us, because i dont think we will be as lucky as last year at crucial times with injuries and goals.

He is a cente forward, but because he is so good, he can shine when he comes deep

Bollocks

Fair enough

Hargreaves and Carrick would probably be more balanced, I still think it's highly unlikely we will ever start with any of those four up front. No harm in trying to get a few cocks out though.

I think out of the top four teams we are still the best, without buying anyone. I'm not sure how subjective I'm being though. But I do think that having Campbell back will make a difference. I also think it's very likely Saha will start more games next season if he doesn't leave. Then there's the improvements that we should definitely see in Anderson, Nani and Tevez who all shown over the course of last season that they were improving in our team, and in the case of Tevez and Nani they have shown even more improvement in pre-season imo. And maybe someone (like Rooney) will step up their game like Ronaldo did two seasons back, and Scholes and Giggs in the same year, and become even more important to our team.

Is he cuptied in the Champions League then, if he plays for Spurs in UEFA Cup?

Nope, we can have one player who played in the Uefa Cup during the same season, in our Champions League squad selection in January.

That's what I was thinking, bank holiday weekend and all that, or do those troopers at the football authorities work right through?

Christ I'm clutching at straws here, can we have a whip round so we can get it tied up tomorrow.
I'd happily donate a small sum of money for the purchase of a Ramliberber
