Berbatov

Fair points, but the one thing I'd say is we don't yet know how Ronaldo is going to react. It seems like now the 'move' is off, that most seem to think we're back to where we were last season. Until I see play, I don't know for sure how or how much, this whole saga has affected him.

Hopefully it won't, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion like some on here.

I think he'll perform just fine.

But there is, obviously, a big difference between performing when you know you're staying put for a season and when you think your "dream" move is still a possibility.

In a way, Ronaldo's ankle injury has protected him from making a proper cnut of himself, with his behaviour on the pitch.

Mikael Silvestre joins Arsenal to cut costs

21/08/2008
In association with SETANTA SPORTS

Mikael Silvestre last night left Manchester United after agreeing a two-year deal with Arsenal.

United's longest-serving defender, 31, was allowed to make the £750,000 switch because the Old Trafford board are keen to ease their wage bill.

Dimitar Berbatov is set to join soon on big money and United will save £55,000 a week by selling Silvestre.

The assumptuous crap they print.

This week was meant to be a crucial one according to the agent.Or is that next week.

This week or next week, something may or may not happen that involves a sportsman, moving, or not moving, from one place to another.

Hurrah for the british tabloids filling our brains with shite.

Good to be on the other end of this shit after the summer. Only a Spurs fan would care if it were true or not. We don't care. It's out there. We can just laugh. Spurs fans will have him as cnut #1 after seeing that, whether its real or not. Jimmy Greaves called him "cheeky". I think he meant "cheeky cnut"

Amen to that brudda.

you're well ensconced in here I see BR. You like epic threads, as you yourself admitted earlier in this one. I don't know enough about the technical aspects of football to join in with quite such passion as i did in 'that' thread (peace be upon it).

I'm sure United will want him signed before the public training session at OT on Saturday afternoon.

They would sell a lot of Berbatov 14 shirts at that.

Ramos and Spurs fans deserve better than this Berbatov...

Signing a Man United kit and saying he's looking forward to moving on, they deserve someone that treats them with more respect.

How about the poor fans feelings who just wanted the signiture of Bay.9 on his Man United shirt;)

SPURS SEEK BERBATOV REPLACEMENT

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/48111/Spurs-seek-Berbatov-replacement-/

TOTTENHAM’S search for a successor to Dimitar Berbatov took a knock last night when Russian star Roman Pavlyuchenko poured cold water on a move to London.

Spurs do not want to let Berbatov join Manchester United until they have lined up a replacement for him – and Pavlyuchenko, 26, was a prime candidate after starring for Russia at Euro 2008.

But the Spartak Moscow striker does not fancy uprooting his young family.

Pavlyuchenko said: “The transfer to England which everyone is talking about, would be a big problem for my family, as we have a young child.

“I have never been at a foreign club. You need to try something first in order to know – but when you’re alone the situation forces you to get used to new conditions quicker, both the language and the lifestyle.”

The situation was not helped when Zenit St Petersburg last night stalled on the deal for his fellow countryman Andrei Arshavin.

Zenit said: “Spurs had until August 18 to send their proposals. So far these proposals have not been received.

“Given the deadline has expired, Zenit considers the possibility of transferring the player to Tottenham closed.”

End of thread. this guy is the real deal. totally wasted at spurs..who beyond keane, woodgate, king and one or two others do not have the players to help this potential great shine.

For the love of god Sir ALEX get the thing done for crying out loud. Im getting mental fatigue from this saga.

Shouldn't you be in training now?

Or are you still recovering from your injury?

Just curious, like, but how come certain caftards get away with posting WUMs, almost on a weekly basis, but others get crucified for doing the exact same thing?

All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

12? Training over already? You should be staying back to practise your freekicks :smirk:

maybe the lower down the leagues you go the less training you do because they realize they can't turn shit into gold? :D

Thats the rules in here. Its like, if you have enough post and other members like you, you are protected.

I'm with pogue on this.

Rules are rules, this cnutofcnut character should be BANNED :)
But, as usual, nothings going to happen to him.

cnut

why not just write cnut?

This is getting more and more depressing... Chelski sign Deco and Robinho.

What has United done to keep up?

feck!!!

Keep up? As far as I know we won the league and Champions League last year, so really Chelsea were the ones who needed to keep up with us.

Unless you think Chelsea are now a better team than us?

A 2 point deficit in the league, and a penalty shootout, doesn't really illustrate a gulf between the squads of two teams. We were just so evenly matched.

I do reckon however our squad is good enough to retain our titles, but it must be acknowledged Chelsea have looked to improve in their "problem" areas e.g at Right-back, whereas we are yet to sign the centre forward that may just make our squad complete.

I am sure we will sign Berbatov, but if we dont get him or another one in the end of the transfer window, our squad will without doubt be better than Chelseas imo.
