It was. I have never seen a white person cause this kinda confusion when something as serious as a rape is consideredI'm guessing this isn't what you meant to write.

You forgot to add being black and being associated, and you focus on appearance while ignoring the fact they share the same name. Fact is, as i've clearly demonstrated, that newspapers frequently feck up articles either by using the picture of someone else or getting their names wrong. They usually get their pictures from image databases, and while they should have the common sense to double check all pictures, it's hardly that much of a shock that they find someone with the same last name and who has played against manchester city, the tags are a giveaway here...It's not like they used a personal photo of Mendy about a random black guy.
Thanks. Crazy that these confusions can happen still in 2021.It did happen in this case although they almost have the same name

No pedofile or rape jokes, should go without saying but I know what some of you are like.He might be spending a very long time in prison..
£52m down the drain, Benjamin Mendy offends again

Sorry, the drains are clogged.2 minutes now and no one's got the reference.
Why in these cases does suddenly
One rape turn into 9 or 10. Anyone know how the police determine whether to charge the defendant or not?

He's finished and at what point can City terminate him?
I think it's about power more than just getting laid. Unfortunately some men thrive off the suffering of others and imposing their power over peopleHonestly don't get this.
Guy is/was a highly paid professional footballer earning a lot of money and he's out there with his mate raping?
SEVEN counts of rape?? Jesus, lock him up and throw away the key.
Don’t believe everything CNN tells you.You think he was playing checkers on Epstein Island with Ukrainian 12 year-olds?
Why? We aren’t a court of lawTrial isn't until June or August by the look of it now. Bloody hell, he will have done pretty much a year inside before even being tried!
No one should be judging until the evidence against him is presented, after the trial, then it's time to judge.

Just made him my captain on Fantasy Felons.Might be time to take him out of my ff team.
Gotcha, Newsmax retrumplican.Don’t believe everything CNN tells you.
If he gets sacked, does he have to compensate City?
Aren't Chelsea still trying to get money from Mutu for his drugs ban? I think the court ruled in Chelsea's favour but Mutu hasn't paid them anything yet.Id imagine they could probably sue him on grounds of breach on contract or something to that effect.

I guess City could sue Mendy as he is an asset on their books, even if he's only worth £20m or something. He has voluntarily reduced that value to £0 and I'm guessing there is a clause about not breaking the law in there somewhere. Good luck getting any money out of him though, its probably a waste of time even trying.
In theory City could but the idea that they could get him to cough up millions is pretty ludicrous. Yes multiple courts ruled in Chelsea's favour in their pursuit of compensation against Mutu, but it'll just be appeals and appeals and appeals. The fact that this Mutu case has been ongoing for nearly 2 decades is absurd in itself. City could try but eventually they're probably better off just cutting their losses and moving on, as Chelsea should have done years ago.
