Ben Shapiro

Listening to him on Rogan where I guess his bullshit is reduced, when Rogan makes your talking points look like crap, you should really not consider yourself, particularly good.

I get the impression he suffers from small man syndrome and was bullied alot for it as a kid. He just comes across as an entitled prick who has a chip on his shoulder. His arguing with Uni students and high school kids is just simply bullying.

Definitely. He’s a twat that is best left ignored.

Absolutely nailed it.

Pretty much. A friend of mine loves him. Pre orders every book listens to every podcast and he was bullied at school im pretty sure. A lot of his fans are like that. Theyre more just angry at society and want a safe space to vent and talk crap.

Its all really sad. Also, I dont mean to say this in a bad or abusive way at all but I have a suspicion Shapiro is slightly autistic. Its wrong to self diagnose so I accept this isnt right of me but the friend of mine who likes him, I believe also has slight autism. I reckon both were bullied for it at school and the rest is evident.

I am not some far left guy and I gave Shapiro a fair shot. Read parts of his book despite the cringe title and listened to his podcast.

Its like a parody. Its so bad. Hes extremely good at masking racist ideas as logical.

Pretty dangerous opinion really. How many people said that about trump. Something he says is connecting with people...the question is why? I do not believe for a second everybody who listens to him, or takes on board what he has to say are simply dumb people with worthless opinions.

Yeah a lot of serious people listen to him too.

If there was Islamic version of Shapiro who had the same opinion he has towards say jews they would be jailed and banned (and rightly so)

He says racist, sexist, transphobic and homophobic shit, and his fans eat it up. That's the majority of his appeal, that's why he's connecting with people. Sprinkle in some nationalism, and you've got Shapiro explained.

Of course they are, the problem is that there are so bloody many of them! @Halftrack covers it.

That's the whole reason people like Trump are in power and Ben Shapiro is somewhat famous. People underestimate how stupid most of our species is. Someone said to me in response to this; so you're saying half the people are stupid? Half?! It's easily 75%

Calling them deplorables was quite accurate. A terrible strategy, but true nonetheless.

Absolutely agree.

Shapiro seems like the kind of guy who needs to hear his wife telling him she loves him at least 5 times until he let's her go out with her mates.

While I don’t disagree that many of his fans are all of the above I set quite a high bar for these things. It all depends on your definition of each but taking the transphobic example I’m guessing Shapiro thinks tran women are not biologically women. I’d say that’s a fair enough opinion to hold and not transphobic.

I think there’s a big woke backlash at the moment which could further explain why he’s so popular. I think people have reached their limit with regards to having people constantly bang on about how the whole world is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic etc.

As far as I understand the issue, Shapiro's stance goes against the very core of what trans people are. He uses biology* to impose social standards on those who don't (and can't) fit into traditional gender categories and roles. Bigots of his kind see these people as an abomination and, since they can't get rid of them, want to at least shut them out with accusations of "unnaturalness", and roll back any supportive policies as far as they can.

* or rather: biologism

I'd say the opposite is true, except for the part that a lot of people don't want to hear about racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. I'm convinced that "conservatives" who see themselves as defending against "wokeness" just rationalize views they'd hold anyway. Their views may indeed radicalize when they feel under pressure, but that's their own doing.

(Not that there aren't things that overstep lines, it certainly happens. But when people claim that's their reason to be fond of Shapiro etc., they just self-justify.)

Obviously. The same way all the people protesting just rationalize their need to burn and loot things. They'd want this anyway, any excuse is just a pretext. Their views may indeed radicalize when they feel under pressure, but that's their own doing.

What is postmoderism in laymans terms? Explain it to me like i am five years old.

:eek::eek::eek:

I would lay good money with confidence that 70%+ of Shapiro’s 25.37m are bot accounts.

Concentrating on militancy not looting, this will actually be true in some cases, but mostly nope.

Edit: Okay, it deserves a better answer. The reasonableness and moral justification of opposition and radicalism obviously differs according to what kind of pressure we're talking about. And how realistic or irrational the motivating fear is. The threat BLM fights against is very real and immediately dangerous, the threat Shapiro-style conservatives feel coming from LGBT acceptance isn't.

I agree with this but shapiro supporters do not. They believe the woke crowd are slowly suppressing American freedom and all that's good. Its a fair number of closet and open racists mixed in with some incels mixed together.

I saw that he got outed on Twitter for creating an aggressive BAME website himself to share on Twitter.

Wonder who he’s actually working for?

I'm not a fan of Ben Shapiro. He's racist, homophobic and transphobic.

Still, I think if you want to debate with someone you need to not resort to name calling.

If someone is a flat earther, and you laugh at them instead of explaining why the world isn't flat, do you really think you'll get anywhere?

I think this is a big problem with the left - every conservative is a fascist Nazi; by perpetuating this, they're essentially ending any rational discourse between the sides and furthering the divide between people.
They aren't debating him though, but sure let's not call the racist guy names.

If a famous person's views are beyond moronic and said person never can respond to your posts anyways, I see no reason to write long paragraphs on why he is wrong.

If someone is still a flat earther in this day and age, yes, they should be laughed at rather than try and explain to them why the world isnt flat.

It seems to me that someone called a racist racist, and that made you fantasize about the left calling everyone a fascist nazi.

Shapiro is not just a conservative, he has called for ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and said that Arabs like to bomb things and live in sewage. He was editor-at-large at Breitbart when they had a tag for black crime. He mocks the death of Trayvon Martin, and his takes on certain types of pop culture, like Black Panther and now WAP, are so bizarre that they can hardly be explained away.

Why do you act like this?

I'm not sure if you're aware but the bolded part does not work.

"If somebody believes something incorrect I would simply explain to them how they are incorrect."
