Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

On page 251 one of the posters said they went into a toilet and Ed and Jose were deep in conversation. Now it's only hearsay but what more do you want? :)

If this is happening, gonna be some wild press conferences coming up!

I said earlier in this thread: due to the incredible anticipation of Jose to MUFC, Woodward needs to organise some kind of Hollywood-esque ceremony, when announcing Mourinho.
Maybe having a huge TV screen in the middle of the OT pitch, with Trump saying, "LVG....you're fired".
A low key press conference just won't cut it any more.

LvG had two full seasons, after what's been a spotty club career since the turn of the millennium.

Moyes had done nothing before getting the job to justify giving him another season.

Sure, there's probably a bit of double standard being applied here, but the point is the likes of Mourinho, Pep, Carlo are considered vastly more successful coaches and are given more leeway when they have an off-season

Of course LVG had 2 seasons. I consider his first one successful, bringing us to 4th from 7th the previous year.

Hence by the 'anyone can have a bad season benchmark' this current season may also be construed as LVG just having 'one bad season'.

I just think the vitriol has gone overboard.

Keys is a total gonk. I read a blog article of his yesterday, in which he rightly lauded Kenny Dalglish for his community activities after Hillsborough; yet Keys somehow made it sound as if the fight for justice was under the radar...until he made three Talksport documentaries about it. Ubertwat.

I hope Van Gaal has taken the option to have a farewell press con with the bragging rights to giving us the FA Cup. (Hopefully)

Would expect them till wit until next week before anything happens

Lvg to go first and then a few days later mourinho will begin official talks

Would be very surprised if it all happens today

Excellent!!!
It's from the Express:

Shameless Headline of the Day
‘Sturridge discusses Liverpool star’s exit as Klopp works on summer deals’ – Express online.

The story? Dean Sturridge “can’t see Benteke staying at Liverpool”

Do we have to give the markets a heads up on something as major as this? Can't recall if we did with Moyes?

Conversation is a kinky lass.

I simply don't get how this thread has 385 pages when there have been just a couple of news updates every week!
Is it pros and cons being listed every day by everyone or is it everyone just hoping for the announcement
This thread gets bumped as regularly with no real news as the transfer Twitter discussion thread in the summer. Or the US presidential election thread, which I still find peculiar...

I'd be surprised if they announced it today. Would they be allowed to with the stock markets being shut?

I'd expect it to be concluded Monday.

There's no logic whatsoever. Announce it early and we ruin our preparations. Announce it after and we take the focus off what will hopefully be some celebrations. If we are planning to announce it only if we lose... it's a damn cold way to get rid of someone.

The only way I can see us doing it is if Louis has planned some sort of retirement speech where he goes out on his own terms and here's the best bit for him (which some people on here would love) he hands over to his protege Mourinho. "I leave you in the hands of someone I taught myself, he will be my legacy". That sort of thing.

Yeah, that's the only way I can see it working too. It'd be remarkably odd/cold to go with the other options.

Nothing at all

I will fully support him if/when he takes over. Just like I did Moyes and lvg when they took the job
That's the spirit.
I heard all of this before his spell at Chelsea as well.
Your ridiculous Twigg buddy. I'm willing to bet you love Mourinho so much it hurts, posters on the wall, mug in the cupboard and a Mourinho mask on you're pillow to practice you're frenchies for the day you kidnap him. I say this because no one can deny a mans achievements over twelve years but get hysterical over a four month period without an unhealthy and weird sense of hatred.
You're opinions over the last few months have really made me think about Mourinho and his value to this club and I thank you for this. You have solidified my support for a manager like Mourinho, warts n all. We are going to rip this fecking shit up, cmon United.

The best thing about that blog was the way he made it out that he led the counselling and campaign for the affected families.

He's an utter cnut but, he doesn't pretend otherwise :D

There's no plans for any parade if we win the FA Cup I think, so it seems the club isn't looking at any further celebrations beyond the post-match ceremony at Wembley.

So that Arabic tweet was a confirmation Mourinho has signed? Could have been anything tbf

It's not a confirmation, but bein are saying it is expected to be announced soon. If that is the case, I would imagine Mourinho to us is almost a done deal. They don't try and call something before everyone else in the hope that they can say 'I told you so', like the journalists do in England. They're very reliable and respected.

I read arabic fwiw.

For all his faults, it would be utterly crass of United to bin him tonight. I doubt even Van Gaal would resign tonight.

Agree with that too. You'd be morons not to sack him but doing it tonight would be a joke.
