Not at all. I've been saying for years that Mourinho is a short term manager who damaged clubs in the long run. Always said that. He's made numerous bad decisions.
That statement is actually applicable to LvG far more than it is to Mourinho, going by his stints at Barcelona, Bayern, and here.

But at least he usually has the results to back that up unlike LVB, he's whiny, arrogant and deluded with shite football and results.

To me you can't be whiny and arrogant, he has to choose.

Fair enough, but what if that goalkeeper switch hadn't worked, he would have been a laughing stock but again he got lucky like so many times this season.

So? He made the decision and it worked. Fergie has made such decisions countless times. Mark Robbins hadn't goal scored a goal he would have been sacked in all probability. So do you think Fergie was lucky too?

If a guy is lucky a lot of times then it clearly is more than just luck as you say

I think by shoring up the defence, buying and bringing through exceptional young talent and reducing the wage bill and getting rid of deadwood we are in an excellent position for next season.

that's an (unsurprisingly) incredibly short-sighted view that ignores the many other areas where he's completely cocked up.

While destroying our attack, getting rid of any sort of creativity or backbone, adding some more expensive deadwood, chattering the confidence of our young talents and making sure that we stay far from CL level.

Chelsea and Inter.
I don't think he damaged Inter in the long run as he was to win the CL as soon as possible for Moratti who was losing too much money and it was Rafa who fecked up next season. It would he like saying Ferguson damaged United in the long run because Moyes messed up the year after.

So you have Porto, Chelsea first time, Inter and Real Madrid where he didn't mess up in the long run

Which clubs has he damaged in the long run (apart from Chelsea this season)
I'd say you'd be jumping the gun to even say he has damaged this Chelsea team in the long run. It's not exactly crazy to suggest that they may win the league next season.

For those of you who can't stand or don't like Mourinho, say he does join. What does he have to do to win you over?

Nothing (because he wont stop being a classless cnut, never mind his pet Faria). If he becomes our next manager,it wont change a thing from my PoV,i will be happy when we win, angry when we lose etc. After all i am United supporter.

I certainly wont make brainfart statements like "we won spite of him,not because of him" or wishing us to lose and pain it afterwards as "for the greater good" etc.Statements like those not only mark CAF under LvG period, also it shows how football fans are clueless when it comes to real football related stuff.

No one denies the cnut being a winner, those 19-20% against him have some other issue with JM (i think).

I think he messed up Inter by running his elder players into the ground, spending too much money and not rotating enough.

I am not that worried about him leaving Chelsea near relegation in one season, what I am more worried about is that he never seemed even close to coming out of that crisis.
We had a really bad spell I think it was in 2001/02 when at one stage ppl questioned if we could still qualify for CL but in the end we finished 3rd.
I just hope if we get him we never get that bad a spell because his behavior in recent years when under such pressure has been counterproductive.
It is not unthinkable that we are just fourth or even fifth around Dec again and Woodward is again in a situation to decide if to get rid or trust the manager.

LvG has to go (however I still don't dislike him), and I can understand that some are so desperate that they are willing to ignore any negative about Mourinho.
I hope he had the time to rethink his Chelsea season a bit and has learnt to deal with crisis better than he did last time. After all the evil Terry and Roman can't be responsible for everything as they have gone through lots of managers (including a rookie Mourinho) and none of them ended up having as bad a season as Chelsea's this term.

Short sighted? It's certainly thinking of the long term. Don't see how it's short sited at all.
short-sighted was probably the wrong term. Nitpicky, maybe, because you've nitpicked at a few things whilst ignoring all the other shit he's completely cocked up.

I don't even know how you can say he's done a great job with youth when you look at the situations of Pereira, Wilson, and Januzaj.

As someone who wants anyone to take over from LVG, I think I've lost the right to criticise Mourinho.

A perfect example of how he fecked up Chelsea is John Terry. When they won the league he was about 35 and played every single game. Every minute of every game. Now a shrewd manager would have realised that won't last. Maybe Mourinho could have started to rotate him.
Instead he played so often that the next year when his legs went he had no one to switch him with.

Yeah fair enough. I am nitpicky. My dislike of the prick adds to my view of him.

Still I predicted this shit season at the start of the year. I didn't think it would be this bad, but even before this year I've been talking about Mourinho's shit third season so I'm not basing it on one bad year.

I don't understand how he ran his older players into the ground. Did Ferguson run Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, RVP etc into the ground because they finished 7th the year after while playing very poorly?

And the money point is very strange as I think the net spend was £40m in his two years there. I guess you are just wumming

He definitely didn't damage Inter. He won a treble with them and left, can't call that damaging. If he had stayed and they went to crap you might have an argument. Bit like us after Ferguson left. It's not Ferguson's fault at all, and it wasn't Mourinho's fault then.

According to Twigg, if he leaves a team after they've just won everything, he leaves them in a bad position cause he's run them into the ground. However if he leaves a team after having not won anything in his third season, he also cocked up. Solid logic.

Mourinho only had one poor third season and that's this year, his third season at Madrid wasn't shit.

He damaged Inter by leaving them. If he didn't leave Benitez wouldn't have happened.:D

Old player in decline shocker.

Also, he had Zouma and wanted another CB but ended up with Roman signing that guy no one had ever heard.

Which is fine, of course, since I'm a guy on a forum who claims no insider knowledge and states clearly that I'm guessing based on the available information.
Yeah but you're guessing about them guessing. They could well be based on what they believe are credible sources and you'd be clueless and dismissive about it.

Will you stop supporting United? Could do with you pissing off from here tbh
I disagree with Twig in most topics but it's weird that some of you can't take an alternate view.

fecking hell, every time I don't agree with someone "WUM"

If only I had such great none WUM threads as

Burn.

I am in the camp that doesn't want Jose here. I think he's too defensive - but not as bad as LVG. If he came I'd want him to change that. I'd want him to get the team to integrate with technically excellent players in their best positions. I'd want a sound defense of course but I want to be thrilled with our attacking play. I want to see players prepared to take risks. I want a team mentality with players more than willing to stand up for each other. I don't particularly want to see any player or players stand out. I want to see really good passing and movement with lots of "team goals". If Jose can bring that about I would be a convert.
That's been debated over and refuted many times. No question Mourinho has been defensive in selective games, especially in big games. But leaving aside Inter and Real where people will always say he had much stronger squads than the rest of the league, in his 5 full seasons at Chelsea, his team was always among the top 3 in goals scored. He only finished once with less goals than Arsenal in his first season 04/05 and few would say Arsenal is not an attacking team.

You're wasting your time, it's been proven over and over again that he's not an overly defensive coach, people just won't listen when they don't want to.

Its like saying the front garden is in good shape when there is a fire in the kitchen. Some things he's fixed and deserves credit for it, but he's fecked up so much more. tumescent football, alienating some youth, complaining about a lack of creativity and then not doing anything about it.
The sooner he fecks off, the better.
