Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

Remember the excitement in around Feb when one late evening the Mourinho meeting United thing broke on the bbc.

Who'd have thought, almost 400 pages and 3months later we still wouldn't quite be there!

Not long now though. Patience.

From Miguel Delaney article about James Rodriguez:

"However, the Old Trafford transfer situation is complicated by the ongoing uncertainty over the new manager. Although it is now expected by those close to the club that Jose Mourinho will replace Louis van Gaal as manager after Saturday's FA Cup final, no deal has yet been signed.

There have been even more advanced discussions between Mourinho's camp and United representatives over the past few weeks and sources told ESPN FC that one point of negotiation was about transfers and that, if he is to take control, the Portuguese would want final say on all deals."

Ha!

Everyone from Red Issue and their dog seems to saying Fergie will soon be publicly praising Mourinho....

That tells me all I need to know
Well if Jose gets the job next week, you would expect him to praise the appointment....if he agrees or not.

If he randomly comes out and says I love Jose before any appointment is made, then red issue might be onto something

Mourinho will not be appointed immediately after the FA cup final. That would look unethical on United's part and would go against LvG's assumed close relationship with Woodward. I'm sure talks will have gone on in the background but publically United will first relieve LvG of his duties, and formally make Mourinho an offer which will take time.

I think it is more likely that, if we win. VG will be allowed to retire, say he wanted to go out on a high with a trophy. Everyone looks like the good guy in that scenario, which is what the club will want if possible.

Or a mutual parting of ways.

That could well be the case. The statement will likely say LvG and United have parted company by mutual consent. Although behind those headlines he'll be well compensated for remainder of his contract.

What would be the point of that?

The "Exclusive" tag to that article or DOF'ing Aloysius?

Side note: we don't call Louis, "Aloysius" nearly half as much as we should.

Last time this happened it caused a ruckus between him and koeman and LVG had to leave. He over stepped the coach's authority and just went straight to the players asking their problems. He would get a chair at training ground and start giving advice while the coach was looking over the training. Imagine him and Mou doing that

I love these reactions to made up stories

It's not just a reaction to that story which is probably not true I know. But lets face it the chances of us getting top 4 would have drastically increased had he been sacked earlier in the season - December even when most wanted him gone. He's like Mike Ashley, both acted/haven't acted to slow/not at all and thus seen their team disappoint.

"It's not true but IF THIS IS TRUE then this is the worst thing ever ffs Woody sort it out you fraud."

Something like that.

It's Sun click bait, but hell, I quite like the idea of José, Louis and Fergie sitting in an office with a good bottle of wine at Old Trafford discussing how they're going to 'knock Barcelona off their bloody perch'.
