Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

Already read it and wept.

Well, not the last bit. Mainly because i wouldn't believe Sky if they told me it was raining.

Erm, their "Sky Sources" was probably Geoff Shreeves who had the interview with van Gaal. They've just extrapolated that interview I think, else Sky are very unlikely to know. I'm waiting for the Guardian to say something on this. They're usually more accurate than anyone else even if they join the bandwagon late.

We have probably have better sources than Sky on here.

It doesn't even matter how good sources are for these outlets anymore. "Credibility" comes way, way behind "clicks" in order of importance.

The BBC is the only source that intrinsically requires virtuous journalism.

I don't think Sky even pretends to practice serious journalism.

sky sources are briefs directly from united. You cannot expect united to say they have a deal in place with mourinho as that will be violating contract laws. This is just like watford and flores situation. As the game against bournmouth is still meaningful, we will not announce anything. Maybe the announcement will come after F.A. cup. We just need to confirm that LVG has missed all the targets including top4. Which should happen now, unless there is a monumental feck up by City. To tell you the truth i wouldnt trust us to beat bournmouth, they have no pressure, they might as well play the game of their season.

I like your optimism and your perseverance

LVG will see out his contract, Giggs will take over the following season.
Deal with it people, thats whats happening. Mourinho isnt coming, this place is going to implode.

I honestly don't think any decision has been made yet one way or the other. I've always thought we'd do the same as we did with Moyes - wait until 4th is unattainable. The only difference is that this time we have to wait until the last game of the season to establish that.

That won't happen this time because of the cup final and if we win that you have to wonder whether we will pull the trigger in the immediate aftermath. This will rumble on until the beginning of June.

He's still obviously coming, if this situation was involving a different club no one would be saying it's not happening. But because it's personal people are panicking and getting worried.

If we are actually doing that then Woody should be dropped in a well to drown. The fact that we are relying on City to lose while putting ourselves in a position where we still could finished EIGHTH should be more than enough reason to have made a decision. Hell the decision to get Jose should've been made last November.

Maybe not generally, but in this situation it seems to be true. Nobody has any more knowledge than anyone else.
There's no basis for that other than the assumption that if the British press don't know then nobody can know. Which if you look at the way things have gone the last few years is the opposite of the reality.

Are you implying then, that someone knows more than anyone else about this current situation? On what basis would that be?

I'd say some people do know more than other. Mourinho, Woodward etc probably know more than me for example

I remember the days when Sky were legit to the point of not believing anything till it was on the yellow news ticker. They got lazy and I feel most of their sources now come from Twitter.

Yeah, I remember a time when I preferred sky to BBC. It seems incredible in retrospect; they have fallen so far.

Peak Sky sources was a few weeks ago when they went against the grain of Jose to United and claimed he was in talks with PSG.
That didn't even last a few hours when it was rubbished in France.

Is there time for one final twist in this saga? City losing on the final day to Swansea? It would be nice to have some closure on this whole thing regardless of which way it ends up.

Would be strange if mou is announced before the fa Cup final. Why we shouldnt wait one more week only to disturb the preparation.

If we don't make 4th and LVG gets to keep his job then I hope the fans and media demand to know from Woodward why Moyes was sacked for not getting top 4. It's not like we play better football under LVG.

Woody could take Moyes.

We had already met with LVG before Moyes was sacked, even though the club denied it.
EDIT: What I mean here is that a decision was already made, we just waited for 4th to be mathematically gone so that he could be sacked cheaper

The way I see it:

If we don't finish top 4: 100% chance of sacking LvG for Mourinho
If we finish top 4: 75% chance of sacking LvG for Mourinho
If we finish top 4 AND win the FA Cup: 70% sacking Lvg for Mourinho

This is all based on extensive research and analysis (not)

I reckon there's a long-standing agreement between Louis & Ed to review the entire situation at the end of the season; LVG's BBC remarks suggest this is so.
