Well I had to change a few mistakes on my post lol
Well this mentality has been the case since ferguson left, if people think it was all about youth under ferguson, being nice to everyone that was the polar opposite to fergie. Apart from the class of 92, entertaining football from 1992-08, and some ok academy players coming through in the 2000's, ferguson was allot like Mourinho, win at all costs, breaking transfer records, pissing off rivals, going into games week in week out looking to win. VG is just too old to keep that standard of play, we will know this summer if the club are ambitious if we make the top 4 and keep VG, or they sack him despite making the top 4. My gut feeling? if there is a chance VG wont spend big because of so called kids coming through, they will beg him to stay. To reach the top seems to expensive for this regime, the dollar is the new trophy cabinet for this lot
Can't be United if he's going to let everyone know in the next few days. Van Gaal won't stay if he's being sacked at the end of the season, Giggs doesn't want to be interim Manager. So who heck would manage the club & guide them 4th position.

I sometimes wonder if it is LVG's perfectionism or our lack of player quality that necessitates such tactics. It is indeed unbearable to watch.
I would say LVG is part of the stabilisation process.
As a fan, I'd love it if my team were winning all the time. But I wonder if it is because LVG was seen as a stabilising manager (rather than a results manager) that such low (by fans reckoning) standards of simply TOP 4 was sufficient.
We need to get back to being hated by other fans, rather than our own. At the moment it is somewhere between being laughed at and being pitied. I find that depressing.

Next few days? Sounds good. Everything points to it being Mourinho at United. Maybe it will also give the players a bounce towards the fag end of this season itself (although you could argue we're already on a good run).

Two of Fergie's three great sides were composed largely of imported players (often at great expense) and even 99 had a core of expensive imports (Cole, Yorke, Stam, as well as older buys like Keane). The 94 and 99 sides also had a real hard streak (verging on thuggish with 94). And, paraphrasing his biographer's words (McIlvany), Fergie was never one to pass a pile of firewood without throwing a lighted match on it. But, no, we're the morally superior nice guys who rely on homegrown players and for whom winning is incidental. No trophy winning machines like Mourinho please, we need someone like that nice David Moyes again.

People desiring youth...none of the elite clubs rely much on homegrown players these days. Even Barca's unparalleled attacking lineup features Turan, Rakitic, Suarez and Neymar. Bayern have Muller, but also Lewa, Robben, Ribery, Thiago. The prem is even more stark - outside of Spurs who have to be seen as the anomaly (and signed Alli).
The class of 92 were a fluke, and pretty much every other footballing force in the last 2 decades has been at least 90% purchased - with a similar 'class of 92-esque' phenomenon at Barca being the exception briefly.
LVG is leaning on the 'youth' crutch because actually winning at football has proven too much for him. And for whatever reason, a large chunk of United fans are happier with losing and playing some of 'our own' than winning. We don't live in a world where a team with Lingard, Rashford, Rothwell, Weir and so forth are going to win the CL. So it's nice, but personally I was pretty happy watching Ronnie, Rooney and Tevez destroy teams, or RVN and Saha doing the business.

He also said right after Chelsea sacked him that he will stay in England for his next job, so that coupled with these new quotes clearly means that it can only one team.
Spurs have only Kane,Carroll and Mason homegrown.
Only Kane has been a key player from that lot.
I think most fans want Mourinho now. He would probably get about 80% in his favour on most polls. Sir Alex is also a big fan and probably has a lot of influence on the Glazers. I only think it is Sir Bobby who is against the idea of Mourinho becoming United manager due to his youth policy and behavior.
