Baz's Betting Thread

Doesn't appeal, fairly hot handicap in which the fav will take all the beating.

Green Park in the next at Notts looks like it's being backed off the boards. Get on.

Sandar traded 1.06 in-running on the places....

Came 5th....

Musseen and Adage are big Place prices on BF in next at Stratford

Hope some of you were on Museen - got 6's on BF earlier for it to be placed

Forget Green Park - drifting now race time approaches.

Rowe park @ Goodwood - Again massice price on BF for a place

Anything else coming up? I like this thread.

Are you taking the piss? - My last 2 horses were the worst picks I have ever had and I spent all day yesterday arguing with QPR fans that 1.75 on them was a lay and the best bet was overs in their match at 2.34. They obviously drew 1-1 and I was right about their lay - but wrong about their overs.

Hope some of youse followed my tips for Haydock yesterday - which would make up for this shit

Bit early but smart money going on Jessica Ennis for Spoty - 100/1 - Take it each way

Aegean Dancer 16/1 - York 1.45. again has to be ew

3 things going for it - Weather is suited, handicapped well and draw looks good

Would wait to see if there is money going on it at the off

Serious bet here - John & Edward 50/1 (Boylesports) Kandy Rain 40-1 & Miss Frank 40-1 (both Betfred)

Winning act X-Factor... I don't think any of them will win and just advising on the best price of these at present - I expect to be able to trade on Betfair with these when the market comes up - As if they are there on the final night one of them will be at least 6/1 and maybe have traded lower on Betfair to win which you could Arb with....

Even though there has yet to be a winning group, it's not as if they are a huge distance behind the solo acts. In all five series one of them has reached the final four and in all but one they have had a presence in the top three, with two finishing as runners-up.

...and Louis has the best record with them

On both of the occasions when a group has finished second, Louis Walsh has been their manager, whereas no other judge has been able to take them beyond third. In the first series he took G4 all the way to the final, where they missed out to Steve Brookstein. Last year, he was very unlucky to be denied victory with JLS, who have since become only the second losing act in the shows history to have a UK number one. They got the most votes in the semi-finals and saw off a number of one-time favourites before losing to Alexandra Burke in the final with 41.66%.

He can also get class from a carthorse

That might be a bit harsh, but Louis certainly is capable of getting acts to overperform. The clearest example was with the McDonald Brothers in series three, which was the one occasion he failed to get a group into the top two. That year the Scottish siblings were slated every week by Simon Cowell for being dreary and pointless but Louis managed to steer them all the way to fourth. His feat in guiding Shayne Ward to series two glory was also impressive as final opponent Andy Abraham the bin man had a great story to supplement his voice. The fact he won with a slender 50.6% of the final vote shows that it was a managerial triumph.

Kandy Rain have huge potential...

One of the most promising groups in this year's competition are Kandy Rain, a girl group who according to the tabloids formed after working together as lapdancers. Popular TV forum Digital Spy already has a two-page appreciation group in their honour, despite the fact their audition was only aired last weekend. The band themselves have also been pretty savvy from a publicity point of view, posting videos on YouTube of them singing other songs, varying from Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars to TLC's Scrubs; that range could come in very handy in the themed shows. They have also uploaded footage of them goofing around, in an attempt to show off some personality.

Few specials bets I have been advised on.

Miss France @ 27/1 for Miss world - Make sure its EW (top 4)

I know a few heavy hitters who are putting serious money on the next bet.
I have Also Have Taken some of Jamie @ 2's to be in bottom 2 this week in X Factor. Second fav alongside Lloyd @ 5/6.

You add in youtube's stats, the conspirancy theory that he will sing first, Louis Walsh's dislike, Simon Cowell with 3 acts and the fact he has not done anything since auditions to make him stand out and I like the sound of it. If I see he is frst act on the night I will pile into this bet and will probably be my biggest bet this year on specials market

If he is in bottom 2 - I see it as another Dead lock as well - 9/10 with Boylesports.

The only thing that could save him is a Hair cut.

Also hope people got some of the 90's on Jedward when it went up on BF. Into 13's now. Am holding for 1 more week and then will lay

Reports that Jamie is indeed singing First. Without doubt this is my biggest bet on specials this year....

Anyone looking drink money for christmas get on this.

4 weeks left to christmas and time to get some christmas money....

Quantitativeeasing 2.25 at Newcastle looks nailled. Only thing that will stop this horse winning is McCoy making a mistake.

If you want a free bet for C'ham put a few quid on it for the Baring Bingh. Nov Hrd at 20's and lay after the race. I expect it to be into 10's

Anyone looking for some festive spirit this christmas can do no wrong by taking some of the 9/2 avaiulable with WHill for snow in Glasgow or Edinburgh on Christmas day....

All long range forecast are now out for 24th night and many have it at 82% chance of snow...

Anyone who got my Jessica Ennis SPOTY bet - I have advised a lay at this stage. Too much a risk with Ryan Giggs now in the picture. Her price has held up and I expect teh Sheffield factor to aid her on the night, but some research is showing that people who would have given their one vote to Jessica Ennis would give it to Giggs before her.

Still think she'll be top 3
