Bayindir HAS to start the next game.
He didn't
When is this guy getting a run of games? I'm physically tired of seeing Onana in goal.

Keeper an absolute priority, onana is a donkey always has mistake in him

Having established that Onana isnt good enough its weird not to play this guy to find out if he's up for it or not prior to the window closing.

I really don't want to see Onana in a utd shirt again, get in a gk on loan if need be, but I can't stand how many mistakes he makes., absolutely fuming.

How shit must bayindir be for him not to start ahead of this clown Onana? I mean Onana is ridiculously shit.
Clearly a confidence thing, just look at the game against arsenal, he grew in confidence, much better shot stopper

We know he isn’t. He’s been awful everytime other than the Arsenal match. And even then his weak punch caused their goal. We have gone from peak DDG and Romero to the current shower

I actually hoped he would of got the nod after his cup performance. I feel like he brought some stability. Maybe he'll get a chance in the league now.

He must have made as many ridiculous mistakes in one a half seasons as De Gea made in his Utd career.
Why can't we just have a normal keeper that can control his six yard box and makes normal saves when required
People didn't want a boring "normal" keeper at the time. They wanted a maverick, ball-spraying sweeper keeper. De Gea was, so the narrative went, crippling the entire team's play through his lack of ability with the ball at his feet. Everything was going to click once he was gone and replaced with someone like Onana.

I do hear clicking, but it's the pilot light failing to ignite.

DDG was done. He was costing us almost every game, even less than Onana. Onana hasn't worked out at all, but letting DE Gea go, was a correct decision. Imagine renewing him for 3 more years on 350k per week, only to condede goals similar to what he did vs West ham and Sevilla in his last season.

Bayindir for the rest of the season. Onana has to go in the summer.

Onana is a trainwreck of a goalkeeper. Period.

This is revisionism at its finest.

Onana has had more mistakes both years than De Gea did any year.

I'm not sure where you saw someone saying that De Gea should have been kept. Perhaps you replied to the wrong post? I do disagree about De Gea being more error-prone than Onana though. He wasn't. At best you could say Onana was a £50m sidegrade in that respect. Plus his wages of course, whatever those are.

The summer of 23 is really haunting us, isn't it?

170 million or thereabouts spend on two goalkeepers who aren't good enough, a striker who can't score goals and contributes nothing else in the process, and a midfielder who never fit the profile of what we needed and is perpetually injured anyway.

Bayindir is a lot worse than Onana sadly

But he didn't make a single mistake today, so the cafe demands a change.

It was a hell of a mistake from Onana. And not his first this season. But he has been good for most of the season to be fair to him. We might need a new gk at some point, but we have far more pressing needs. As usual, the reaction is way over the top.

Based on their last games for us, I have way more trust in Altay right now.
Based on their careers to date, I have more faith in Onana. Not to say I have a great deal of faith. Some seem to forget that Bayindir fecked up for Arsenal's goal last week, displayed terrible distribution and was also really poor at Spurs in the cup.

Again a lot in here are getting carried away. Onana, besides his occasional mistakes, are a better keeper than Bayendir, like DDG was also a better keeper than Lindegaard in the season when he was struggling and Lindegaard started instead of him.
Onana needs to do better and be more consistent but imo he has proven himself over several games at the highest level in both United and Inter. I don’t think he will ever reach VDS, Schmeichel or even DDG level but in our current financial situation he is worth sticking to, we have bigger problems than him.

I mean his feck up in that Arsenal game was beyond minor compared to the Onana howlers

It doesn't matter. The guy isn't good enough. Calling for him to start is stupid.

How is stupid when the guy who is starting is absolute fecking crap?

His blooper compilation for us in a season and a half would make David James blush. Bayindir might not be good, but we don't know for a fact how he would do week in and week out for us because it hasn't happened yet.

Gk who saves shots is boring anyway. More importantly; can Altay make all those short passes to Maguire and Yoro? That is football, not saving shots.
Shot stopping is so outdated.

The first part is indeed what a lot of us wanted, however Onana doesn't match the description of a ball-spraying sweeper keeper. His distribution isn't very good and he doesn't command his area in the slightest. He stays rooted to his goal line just like De Gea did. His style of keeping is very similar to De Gea, minus the quick reflexes to pull off the occasional spectacular save.

There should be repercussions for Onana's mistakes. There should be accountability. However, playing Bayindir is not going to solve anything. You guys can hate on Onana as much as you like, but unfortunately he's the best keeper we have.
