I forgot what their stadium and fans are like, credit to them it was a hell of an atmosphere last game, looks like being the same this time. fecking luminous blue shirts again. Beck's eyes have revenge in them.

The game kicks off with Bayer winning the toss and just passing the ball around the back before launching a ball to our left back position. After some interplay, and a lovely dummy by O'Shea, we get the play. But give it away. They get a cross in, two headers away by Rio, then Rio beaten but saving tackle by O'Shea in the area - he's got guts that lad.

Rio beaten again, but the nudge on was too strong and wen to Barthez. Blanc strides forward with the ball but gives it away with a poor pass. After winning the ball back Butt tries a long ball forwards. Comes back at us down our right flank with a Becks foul breaking it up.

O'Shea continues to take the piss out of them with dummies and fakes before clearing the ball. Another cross comes in though and its very dangerous but cleared by Butt. We need to hold onto the ball for a bit.
 
Long ball down the middle, Becks cross, Ruud didn't connect, Giggs lost concentration because he thought Ruud would have it - shame because he could've got a foot on it too.

Giggs was just up front on that chance, he'll be moving from midfield to attack I would think. Newcastle down a goal to Feyernoord.
 
Bayer have started brightly, more possession and attacking play. O'Shea blocks a cross/shot for a corner. Becks clears the corner. O'Shea clears the next cross, and Ruud tries to hold it up but is fouled. Veron and Phil yet to get into the game.
