definitely he wouldn't have refused a chance under SAFI think he would have loved to come here even if we didn't have LvG as our manager.
Well better late than never...definitely he wouldn't have refused a chance under SAF
What is the Bayern reaction to this? Is he seen as on the decline or what?
He's about to turn 31, he's not 36. Technically he should still be at his peak.Dream signing, of course he's at the end of his career but I'm ecstatic to see a player of his quality in a United shirt. He's going to be a hit.
There is an alpine ski racer from Norway (Liverpool supporter) who said two years ago that his German colleagues (who apparently are childhood friends of Bastian) told him that Bastian really wanted to play for United at some stage. He jokingly said it was his first and last attempt at being ITK but he said he trusted the info to be 100 % true.
Add to that his comments on United in the past and that his brother is a huge United fan, I think it's safe to say that there's more to this than money, last good contract and a rift between him and Pep. I think he would have loved to come here even if we didn't have LvG as our manager.

Picture of his last race (he won) as a skier with 13/14 - before he decided to transfer to Bayern. His brother skiied in the German skiing team until he was 18 and then started to go for football - that might be the reason he never made it to more than the second league. The guy next to him is Felix Neureuther, today the World's best or second best slalom skier (if you are German he is the best, if you are Austrian he is second best - if you look into the tables he is second).
The guy in front is Alberto Tomba. The race was in Brixen, South Tirol.
Information that you get from the ski camp could be relieable...
That race is still source of a lot of banter...
Interesting that already this young ski racers have a lot of personal advertising on them.
