Barthez out, Sorensen in

Well... I know that sounds like the usual crap, but let me put it in a different perspective:

There's no doubt that Barthez can be BRILLIANT! - But he simply SUCKS too often... As a defender it is very important to know, how much you can depend on your goalie,(i.e. so he knows when he should rather cover the far post or the other!) - I don't think the defenders at United never know where they've got Barthez... should they kick it, or let it go to him... - And then he shows class at times, and they start to depend more on him, as they now think he's back at his best... but then it happens... he fails!

Sørensen's defenders know where they've got him, as he rarely fecks it up! - But again he doesn't make saves like Barthez does when he's 110% going strong!

The 'relationship' between a defender and his goalie, are more psychological than many thinks really! - Give us a consistant goalie, or make Barthez one!</strong><hr></blockquote>

So Sorensen's all that? We've just seen him feck up at the biggest stage in arguably the most important game of his career. Barthez has yet to fail in such an important match.

Now, Sorensen has potential but as of yet he ain't world class. The new Schmeichel? I don't think so. A world class keeper in 5 years? Possible, but that's it. In 50 years we'll still talk about Schmeichel, Yashin, Banks, Zoff etc. as the greatest keepers of all time. Sorensen won't be among those mentioned, nor will Barthez

Barthez has been consistant for two years with United but for a few months last season. It looks as though he has put the problems behind him and as he'll still be here when the new season starts the best thing we could do is support him.

Tbh I think United could have made a class keeper out of Sørensen... But it's true... he'll never be a new Schmeichel!

- And of course we should back Barthez! - He's a United-player, but it doesn't hurt to be a bit critical... A froum like this, is mainly about discussing such things, ey?

Btw... I'm sorry for Sweden... :( - But just as Denmark, they got the worst possible playing-time, just as Denmark... tough luck, mate! :(

Nobody will ever be as good as Schmikes. Sørensen is a fine 'keeper in his own right, and it's unfair every Danish 'keeper will always be compared with Pete. People don't understand he was one in a million, and neither Fab nor Sørensen will ever replace him for Denmark or United. Let's keep Schmeichel out of this discussion please. ;)

It's impossible not to mention Schmiechel when talking a United keeper. He has set the standards and showed us how good a keeper can be.
