Barcelona vs. Manchester United

SAF has obviously instructed every midfielder to run them into the ground from the very first moments and does not expect them (Carrick, Giggs, Valencia) to last anywhere close to 90 mins to given himself lots of options. Its obvious and we have all been saying this for weeks, this game will be won or lost in our ability to dismantle or obstruct Barcelona Midfield and for that we need runners.

Owen a good bet for a last 10 min run out if we need to go for bust.

Anyway, tough calls needs to be made, it was Park in 2008 .... and he stayed and remained committed. Berbatov will have to swallow this bitter pill and prove he is a team man (and Im one of his very biggest fans.

Wow. Can't believe I was so close with predicting the full squad. Sad to see Berba not there but I expected Owen to be ahead of him in the pecking order. It's just that sort of game where Owen can make the most impact as a sub if needed.

Berba missing out isn't too surprising actually. Rarely has an impact off the bench and no CL goal since 2008...

I feel for Berbatov but I thought his form in the Champions League might count against him. He's struggled to perform in the competition for some strange reason. Anyway it's a team game and all that matters is the win.

Owen has waited for his big moment to do something special and now he may get it. If we give him the opportunity I pray he takes it. Stay sharp, keep your focus and you can write yourself into folklore.

Berbatov has scored what, once off the bench in his entire United career. Think he got a single goal off the bench for Spurs too, heard that at one point. Could have done himself some favours if he had done that more often

This. Perspective people. Owen's conversion is better than Berba when coming off the bench.

So what happens if Rooney gets a knock? Does Owen come on or do we play three in midfield?

I reckon Rooney will be playing the part of a midfielder off the front man today. So if he's off then Fletcher/Anderson will come on. Rooney and Hernandez will be required to do a lot of running and closing down today, just like Tevez did against them at OT. Game is clearly not suited for Berbatov.

It's sad for Berbatov and all the others who are left out, but it's no time for sentiment. We have to do everything in our power to bring the trophy back to Old Trafford.

If Rooney, we'll bring a midfielder, if Hernandez it'll be Owen.

Hopefully no injuries for both teams tonight.

Macca_NOTW No Puyol and Mascherano at centre-half...interesting with the Pea's pace and movement

Abidal and Masch in and Puyol out apparently...

I'm sure the odds are now to swing massively in your favour.

Come on Hernandez...if he has a good game he can run their defence ragged

COME ON!!!!

Let's get at them! The crowd will be red tonight. Huge support, high tempo from the first whistle and let's take the game to them.

Their defensive problems don't fill me with much optimism. They had a 100 year old Sylvinho playing last time and we barely caused him any trouble.

I reckon Berbs gone in the Summer. Refusing to sign a contract has cost him more so than his ability.
