Barcelona vs. Manchester United

Will Sky just shut up and play endless glorious montages from now until kick-off please?

An ode from King Henry V himself via Will Shakespeare (Well, OK something I came up with earlier!)

Once more unto Wembley, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with Munich dead.
In Man United, there's nothing so becomes a player
As passing, wingplay and winning:

But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of 1999;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd tackles;

Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let pry through the portage of Van Der Sar
Like the brass cannon; let Rio o'erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth Ji Sung Park

O'erhang and jutty Pepe's confounded base,
Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the Barcelona wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend Messi, Xavi & Pedro.

To his full height. On, on, you noblest Giggs.
Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
Fathers that, like so many Keane's,
Have in these parts from morn till even fought

And sheathed their swords for lack of goals:
Dishonour not Sir Matt; now attest
That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you.
Be copy now to men of grosser blood,

And teach them how to win. And you, good Rooney,
Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;

For there is none of you so mean as Vidic,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand Hernandez like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge

Cry 'God for Charlton, Best, and Saint Cantona!'

When was the last time Wembley had a truly great game? The only one I can recall since the new stadium opened approaching that was the championship playoff final last year.

The United Chelsea 2-2 was the only half decent game I remember.

Robbie Savage wanting us to lose. Classy fecker.

I agree pal RT @DavePaylor: @RobbieSavage8 I hope #mufc play 2 up top because then they will be overrun in midfield by #Barcelona

They've relayed a new pitch specifically for this game so I hope its made a difference.

Alas, I agree with you though. I've never seen a good football match at new wembley. Its generally very oborious tactical affairs.

Damn I so wish we were playing Real and not Barca. I wouldn't be this much of a mess.

nickcoppack Earlier rumour now seems just that... a rumour. "Informed opinion" now suggests we're looking at the Schalke first-leg team.

Rooney central with tracking back duties and Hernandez infront of him. The rest can be a number of different selections.

I can't see Fergie dropping Giggs, and if he did I think Anderson is more likely than Gibson.

Berbatov not on bench then

---------------------VDS------------------
Valencia----Ferdinand----Vidic---------Evra
Nani---------Carrick------Giggs--------Park
-----------------Rooney------------------
-----------------Hernandez---------------

That would be pretty sweet.

Why the feck Jack Wilshere is going to Wembley?

No chance Park won't start.

It has to be Berbatov missed out.
