It isn't. From what I read it is the TV rights which are being sold. The Studios are more than just that I think (?), so the valuation is north of 400m.What is "Barca studios" and why is it worth 400 million?

Your fanbase is never wrong. This forum argued that getting a loan for Griezmann was madness, nope it was sound financial moves since they were only bringing forward money they’d use for his fee anyway and was necessary to free up further funds even after paying off a huge clause.I have always given information and arguments. And how you cannot refute them you get frustrated and disrespect people.
Where am I wrong?
Let’s wait till Barcelona can actually register their players otherwise they’ve basically weakened their squad from last season.Unless Madrid adds a forward or two, I see Barsa as favourites for La Liga. Madrid is one Benzema injury away from not scoring more than a goal a game and too many of it's top performers are getting too old. Tchouameni is an excellent pickup but not enough reinforcement. Other clubs are not standing still.
This sounds like the most likely outcome. I'm amazed at how blind Barça fans are being - tribalism is one thing, but this is on another level...Your fanbase is never wrong. We were stupid in thinking 2m a week for Messi was absurd and was killing your club. Nope, he was needed to bring in all the sponsorship deals and fans or else everything would fall. Now, 12 months later while Messi-less, your same fanbase is telling us only success and trophies matter and that’ll raise up these same , doomed deals that Messi was so crucial for. Not just raise them but it’ll make the 25 percent of tv revenue and 50 percent of BLM so inconsequential that youll make so much more on the back end.
If this fails (it will imo) it will oust your president. After that your lot will either disappear and a new wave comes in or the same fans will proclaim that everything is on this administration and it’s not Barcas fault. That will be the new Barca who should not be held accountable.
There will be shouts to save Barca within the next 10 years, to somehow negate these awful deals and save the club because it’s such an institution and crucial to Spanish culture.

What is "Barca studios" and why is it worth 400 million?
A loan who became the second highest paid player at the club only behind Messi.. is a good thing? What other Barcelona fans think is none of my business. I have my own opinion and I give it with education and respect.
Griezzman had the second highest salary in the squad, only behind Messi. Barcelona loaned him 2 years for €10M, a mandatory €40M purchase option if he played more than 50% of the matches in which he was available. And all that with an age of 30 years. To me it seems like a great operation by Barcelona.
The matter of the levers and the wage mass.
The future of Barcelona will not depend on this summer, but on the management they do each year. The logical thing is that in the following transfer markets, Barcelona barely invests anything, or does so in players who are out of contract or last year, in addition to the academy.
I don't know what the Board of Directors is going to be.
A lot of rewriting of events in here. 99% of the Caf argued flogging Griezmann was an impossibility because of his wages. They were wrong.Your fanbase is never wrong. I have no clue what you're basing your conclusion on that Barca is going belly up. They're getting an instant fix for their mess and long term they wont have the finances to compete with other big clubs.
This forum has as much knowledge on Barça's situation as its fans do, i.e. what the club is spinning + critical thought. Barça fans lack the latter, though.this forum has 0 (ZERO) knowledge about barça situation.
No, this forum is just sick of Barca fans arguing against common sense for years only for the next wave to take up the mantle when the former slinks away.i dont know what other fans think but i dont care. this forum is completely wrong in many things. this forum has 0 (ZERO) knowledge about barça situation. there are reasons to sell instead of a new loan (which is essentially the same anyway). then you keep reading things like that the spanish job laws forbid you to decrease a salary >50%, which is obviously stupid, but you keep reading it almost every day. you read other stuff like "nobody has ever sold a % of their tv rights". well this very year laliga (38 out of 42 teams, except barca, madrid, athletic and oviedo) has sold around 10% of the rights for 50 years!! in worse and more limited conditions than barça.
i have never wanted griezmann in the team to begin with. very expensive and he had rejected us one year ago. it was actually humilliating.
however, the operation to get rid of him was brilliant. the only caveat was to wait 2 years to get the money and not being 100% secured. however, if he is available the whole season and plays around 12-15 games the buyout will be mandatory. we already saved close to 100M on wages for the past year and this one, and we will receive another 40M at 99% chance. that is fantastic.
i wanted messi to leave, actually one year before when we could get money.
25% of laliga revenue represents a 5% of the current revenues. it will be less in the future. BLM (that won't be sold) is giving losses. BLM is a business that most of the clubs does not even have, as they don't directly manage it.
on this thread (well, anywhere where barça comes up) this forum just acts like a bully. just insults and 0 arguments. that is a bigger reason to leave the forum tbh, im not here to lose my time with 10yos. i've been cited dozens of times giving numbers and arguments and the "smart" response was any variation of "you areee retaaaarrrddddd" with exactly 0 arguments and numbers.
Just a tv content production company, like documentaries for netflix and so on (and barça tv which can be watched in some online platforms in spain).
All Barça fans seem to be doing its tying themselves in knots to explain why the extremely shitty financial situation in which the club finds itself is actually genius crisis management when it's desperate, short term thinking. Trying to spin the griezmann situation as a positive is mental...you GROSSLY overpaid on the player and now think the powers that be deserve credit for getting rid of him at a significant loss?!i dont know what other fans think but i dont care. this forum is completely wrong in many things. this forum has 0 (ZERO) knowledge about barça situation. there are reasons to sell instead of a new loan (which is essentially the same anyway). then you keep reading things like that the spanish job laws forbid you to decrease a salary >50%, which is obviously stupid, but you keep reading it almost every day. you read other stuff like "nobody has ever sold a % of their tv rights". well this very year laliga (38 out of 42 teams, except barca, madrid, athletic and oviedo) has sold around 10% of the rights for 50 years!! in worse and more limited conditions than barça.

No, this forum is just sick of Barca fans arguing against common sense for years only for the next wave to take up the mantle when the former slinks away.
The entire premise of the Super League came from Perez, Barca and Juve who told us it was necessary because clubs weren’t growing their media income fast enough and how impossible it was to grow that much more due to short attention spans and all that nonsense.
Now we are meant to believe there is incredible growth from tv deals that they can sell 25 percent of it and be able to afford to buy it back when it explodes in value.
https://www.reuters.com/markets/eur...ights-movistar-dazn-495-bln-euros-2021-12-13/
I was reading this earlier, from the start of the old 3 year deal to the end of the new 5 year deal is a rise of around 100k per season. That’s a 100k rise over 8 years.
There will be no explosion. There will be no buying anything back yet the propaganda is real. That’s a fortune sold off that you’re never getting back but dare say that to a Barca fan and see what happens.
Add to that your tiny profit margins over even Laportas era. These deals are guaranteeing you a sizeable loss every season from here on in, all from a lesser revenue stream.
The reality hasn’t hit your lot yet when you’re swimming in Lewa and Silva deals but give it 12-18 months and then come back to us.

Couldn't they just do half the agreement and do half the signings, give or take a few million?I'm going to repeat it again. Laporta, Barcelona's economic directors, myself and other users have already said that the agreement is not good. I repeat, IT IS NOT GOOD.
The other option was not to make signings for many many years and have an uncompetitive team.
Couldn't they just do half the agreement and do half the signings, give or take a few million?
Barcelona seemingly want to build a squad with more depth than Manchester City's, in six months. It's a little over the top.

It would have been better not to buy him in the first place. It just strikes me as crazy to praise the board for essentially selling a player that should never have been bought in the first place at a significant loss.Would it be better not to sell him , not to earn €50M in the transfer and to have to pay him €50M in 2 years and go free?
Which option would you choose?
The only thing that's 'honestly stupid' is this analogy. Not to mention tasteless. Actually, another thing that's 'honestly stupid' is your board, both current and past. Your focus should be on learning from the mistakes of the past when your club seems intent on running headfirst into more financial crisis. That said, you crack on...if burying your head in the sand and praising the current board for selling a player for half what you paid for him, after shelling out significant amount to him in wages for miniscule returns over the past few years helps you cope then have at it.well, you have a thread from 10 years and the forum opinion was exactly the same: "barça will be bankrupt and disappear in 2 years".
on one side you say that the deal is atrocious because the tv rights will grow a lot so we are selling 500M now for multiple billions in the future. on other side you say that there is no growth so for whatever reason we cannot buy them again. if rights dont grow in value will be cheaper to buy, so it might be easier to buy back them if other areas grow more.
i dont care about the buyback, i prefer it to exists just in case, but i dont expect it to be mandatory. it is beyond madness trying to predict what is going to happen in 20 years on this specific issue, but you seem to have all the responses.
besides, you are saying like 1000000 times per day how broke we are, and you say that we have to pay the debt, but you dont say how. well... yeah... sell all the valuable players we have so we fight for relegation and then we will be able to pay hundreds of millions per year.
"take a loan instead". well, if you take a loan you still need to pay interests and the money will need to come from somewhere, or it grows in the trees? we will need to take money from tv revenues to pay debt and interests. so what is the difference? well, the difference is accountability and FFP rules. debt and sell of assets is different from a FFP point of view and selling some assets is better (you can find more explanations online).
besides, laporta has always said that the deal is BAD and he didnt want to do it but HE HAD TO.
it is obvious that if you have a big debt you are not going to be as competitive in the future. selling a small % of your revenues guarantee that you can still be competitive and it is actually derisking your situation. do you think united would fall into oblivion if the revenues decreases 5%? you are actually giving around 2% in dividends to glazers. those dividends com from revenues too.
most of the money has gone to debt/short term payments. only a fraction will go to improve the squad. net spend on signings and wages are far far far away from what this forum claims.
no, this forum has 0 knowledge.
you still think that spanish laws forbid you from reducing a wage 50% and half of this forum dont even write laporta correctly (laporte).
some people might have some insight, same as fans.
differences is that @Niemans or myself tried to provide information based on facts and the responses are in the line with "you are wrong because barca is evel and period".
this forum is driven by hate. some of the posters here literally say that have hated barça for decades in their own bio. in a united forum.
shitty financial situation was caused by bartomeu.
new board took power in a very difficult situation. overall situation is today MUCH MUCH MUCH better than when they took over.
griezmann's situation has been very well managed under the new board. it has nothing to do with the shitty deal bartomeu signed.
of course current board deserves credit for getting as much from griezmann. thinking otherwise is honestly stupid.
it is also better to have 2 legs but i think we both agree that a doctor can make a great job saving your life and just one of your legs.
barça needs to think both in short term and long term situations. how can a football club operate if it cannot register any player for years? how can a club operate if they cannot pay their short term liabilities (something that was worked out last year)?
half of the agreements: 300M
half of the signings: 70M (signings, not net spending in the market)
so no... there is a 250M difference that is needed to return back to normal from a FFP point of view.
you can argue that we could have avoided this last "lever" and not signing kounde + raphinha (to say some). that is a better and more realistic question. i have said multiple times that i wouldnt have signed lewa (expensive for his age) and raphinha (i dont know him basically)
It’s because we could’ve had our shiny new toy by now! Instead we’ve got to wait until SeptemberThe level of hate towards Barca here is unbelievable. We did play the best football ever with only money from our football fanbase. We didn't need Arabic or American investors. We did raise the best football player ever, we didn't need to buy him. I understand the envy.
As for now, we were terribly mismanaged for 11 years (and yet won more thropies than most clubs) so Laporta is doing what he can with our own assets to keep the club competitive. I repeat, our own assets. Not the financial doping that happens in the Premier League and Nobody cares to do anything about it. Or worse in the UEFA with PSG, where they can basically spend as much Qatar money as they want. Corruption is what it is. From Román Abramovich to Qatar. But yeah, Let's hate on Barca for using 25% of what the club earned though football success.
8 out the last 10 Premier League titles were won by teams that only became relevant thanks to financial doping.
Look at your own league's corruption before criticizing Barca.

Griezmann's exit is pretty funny since we were told many times that the reason he was a bad signing is that he played in the same spaces as Messi. Then they both leave in the same transfer window. It would have been better not to buy him in the first place. It just strikes me as crazy to praise the board for essentially selling a player that should never have been bought in the first place at a significant loss.

It's a bit rich to hear a Barcelona fan of all people talking about financial doping in the Premier League when for years Barca and Real Madrid recieved the lion's share of La Liga TV money to the detriment of the other teams. The level of hate towards Barca here is unbelievable. Next summer should be a laugh. How do you spend any money when your revenue outweighs your incomings and you’ve already sold all your rights? All ready up to their eyeballs in debt and are selling off future incomes...what could go wrong.
Who was at the club for longer than Raúl González was at Madrid.Famous Catalan "Leo Messi."
Which part of Catalonia was Messi born in?Who was at the club for longer than Raúl González was at Madrid.
So what? You bought him. He was an Argentinian child who you imported to Barcelona. That is more ethically dubious than simply buying a player, for feck's sake.Who was at the club for longer than Raúl González was at Madrid.
