It isn't. From what I read it is the TV rights which are being sold. The Studios are more than just that I think (?), so the valuation is north of 400m.
I have always given information and arguments. And how you cannot refute them you get frustrated and disrespect people.

Your fanbase is never wrong. This forum argued that getting a loan for Griezmann was madness, nope it was sound financial moves since they were only bringing forward money they’d use for his fee anyway and was necessary to free up further funds even after paying off a huge clause.
We were stupid in thinking 2m a week for Messi was absurd and was killing your club. Nope, he was needed to bring in all the sponsorship deals and fans or else everything would fall. Now, 12 months later while Messi-less, your same fanbase is telling us only success and trophies matter and that’ll raise up these same , doomed deals that Messi was so crucial for. Not just raise them but it’ll make the 25 percent of tv revenue and 50 percent of BLM so inconsequential that youll make so much more on the back end.
If this fails (it will imo) it will oust your president. After that your lot will either disappear and a new wave comes in or the same fans will proclaim that everything is on this administration and it’s not Barcas fault. That will be the new Barca who should not be held accountable.
There will be shouts to save Barca within the next 10 years, to somehow negate these awful deals and save the club because it’s such an institution and crucial to Spanish culture.
Let’s wait till Barcelona can actually register their players otherwise they’ve basically weakened their squad from last season.

Griezzman had the second highest salary in the squad, only behind Messi. Barcelona loaned him 2 years for €10M, a mandatory €40M purchase option if he played more than 50% of the matches in which he was available. And all that with an age of 30 years. To me it seems like a great operation by Barcelona.

i dont know what other fans think but i dont care. this forum is completely wrong in many things. this forum has 0 (ZERO) knowledge about barça situation. there are reasons to sell instead of a new loan (which is essentially the same anyway). then you keep reading things like that the spanish job laws forbid you to decrease a salary >50%, which is obviously stupid, but you keep reading it almost every day. you read other stuff like "nobody has ever sold a % of their tv rights". well this very year laliga (38 out of 42 teams, except barca, madrid, athletic and oviedo) has sold around 10% of the rights for 50 years!! in worse and more limited conditions than barça.
i have never wanted griezmann in the team to begin with. very expensive and he had rejected us one year ago. it was actually humilliating.
however, the operation to get rid of him was brilliant. the only caveat was to wait 2 years to get the money and not being 100% secured. however, if he is available the whole season and plays around 12-15 games the buyout will be mandatory. we already saved close to 100M on wages for the past year and this one, and we will receive another 40M at 99% chance. that is fantastic.
i wanted messi to leave, actually one year before when we could get money.
25% of laliga revenue represents a 5% of the current revenues. it will be less in the future. BLM (that won't be sold) is giving losses. BLM is a business that most of the clubs does not even have, as they don't directly manage it.
on this thread (well, anywhere where barça comes up) this forum just acts like a bully. just insults and 0 arguments. that is a bigger reason to leave the forum tbh, im not here to lose my time with 10yos. i've been cited dozens of times giving numbers and arguments and the "smart" response was any variation of "you areee retaaaarrrddddd" with exactly 0 arguments and numbers.

Also as I’ve said before, a player who has an expired contract does not move club for free. The agent and player get an increased sign on fee sometimes to the value of a potential transfer. Your free deals are not free and your books should prove that next year.

I was reading this earlier, from the start of the old 3 year deal to the end of the new 5 year deal is a rise of around 100k per season. That’s a 100k rise over 8 years.
There will be no explosion. There will be no buying anything back yet the propaganda is real. That’s a fortune sold off that you’re never getting back but dare say that to a Barca fan and see what happens.
Add to that your tiny profit margins over even Laportas era. These deals are guaranteeing you a sizeable loss every season from here on in, all from a lesser revenue stream.
The reality hasn’t hit your lot yet when you’re swimming in Lewa and Silva deals but give it 12-18 months and then come back to us.

The other option was not to make signings for many many years and have an uncompetitive team.

well, you have a thread from 10 years and the forum opinion was exactly the same: "barça will be bankrupt and disappear in 2 years".
on one side you say that the deal is atrocious because the tv rights will grow a lot so we are selling 500M now for multiple billions in the future. on other side you say that there is no growth so for whatever reason we cannot buy them again. if rights dont grow in value will be cheaper to buy, so it might be easier to buy back them if other areas grow more.
i dont care about the buyback, i prefer it to exists just in case, but i dont expect it to be mandatory. it is beyond madness trying to predict what is going to happen in 20 years on this specific issue, but you seem to have all the responses.
besides, you are saying like 1000000 times per day how broke we are, and you say that we have to pay the debt, but you dont say how. well... yeah... sell all the valuable players we have so we fight for relegation and then we will be able to pay hundreds of millions per year.
"take a loan instead". well, if you take a loan you still need to pay interests and the money will need to come from somewhere, or it grows in the trees? we will need to take money from tv revenues to pay debt and interests. so what is the difference? well, the difference is accountability and FFP rules. debt and sell of assets is different from a FFP point of view and selling some assets is better (you can find more explanations online).

barça needs to think both in short term and long term situations. how can a football club operate if it cannot register any player for years? how can a club operate if they cannot pay their short term liabilities (something that was worked out last year)?
