Bathtime for Bestie, Tony Dunne, Pat Crerand (?), David Herd, Denis Law, Nobby Stiles, and Shay Brennan.

A bottle of Double Diamond and two cups of tea on the side

Eyebrows were raised when United paid in excess of £200,000 for Bournemouth striker Ted MacDougall. MacDougall's time at United was limited and we eventually sold to West Ham by Tommy Docherty, but not before he'd scored vital goals against Liverpool and Leeds.

Top stuff Moriarty, keep 'em coming! Seems United has been in your family for a long time.

The treble. United fans will always remember Giggsy's epic winner against Arsenal but it could have been so different were it not for Peter Schmeichel who denied Bergkamp from the spot at the death.

"Hot Shot" David Herd in training. He could belt a ball just as hard as Bobby Charlton and this shot captures the power in that right peg.

OT_bombet.jpg

December 1940 after a visit by German opponents to Old Trafford. Rumour was that the bomb aimer was a City fan captured at Dunkirk who volunteered to join the Luftwaffe for this one raid.

Farewell, for now. Sir Matt waves goodbye to the United fans after his last game in charge. It was only temporary though because he took the reins again when Wilf McGuinness was fired.

That's a good picture mate i recognise Jim McGregor on the far left, the guy sat beside Ferguson was Norman Davies?

Any idea who the other two in the middle are?
Brian Whitehouse with his hand up. Olsen on the bench next to him.

Genius in action. Georgie scored twice in this 2-1 win at the Victoria Ground in 1971. Gordon Banks, the finest there was at that time, can do nothing to stop him.

Cheers mate, i thought it might have been Olsen. Had never heard of the other guy.

Googled Brian Whitehouse and found this picture from the same game.

Bit in there about the guy on the right of Ferguson, he was a bus driver that Big Ron allowed to sit on the bench. Apparently Ferguson wasn't impressed with this arrangement.

After scoring his 5th in the 7-1 match vs. Blackburn. Privilege to be in Old Trafford that day.

Referee-Jack-Taylor-talks-007.jpg

Leeds again. Pat Crerand comforts an injured George Best while Bremner and Giles both try to convince Jack Taylor of their innocence. Taylor was one of the best referees this country ever produced. He was in charge for the 1974 World Cup final in which he awarded a penalty to Holland in the opening few minutes.

December 1969 and Nobby Stiles returns after having two knee operations. He started the game at Burnley with his right knee bandaged up. The only Burnley player I can name here is Ralph Coates, who later played for Tottenham. The player on the ball may be Steve Kindon.

1983 wasn't a good year for Arsenal in the cup competitions. Steve Coppell celebrates his goal in a 4-2 win at Highbury in the League Cup semi-final.
