Ireland were like a team possessed.. unreal!

India couldn't fecking do that! Gwan Ireland!

Beat the world Champs in Football and rugby in the last year or so. Only country to do both :drool:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS

We should have stuck it to them a few years ago too.
We're playing again in a few weeks so hopefully we back this up and let's see where we are then

We beat them for the first time in 111 years and 28 attempts after 27 losses and 1 draw. NZ got 30 points in 6 games against South Africa, Australia and Argentina and averaged 6 tries a game this year. I wasn't sure we could do it when we were 11 up with 1 minute to go.

I'm f**king delighted.

What a fecking game after being 30 to 8 up and blowing it I thought it was over, you could feel the disappointment in the pub then it happened and the place was bouncing, still have a smile on my face

Was roaring at the laptop the whole match :D

Eir royally screwed everyone. Our broadband price was increased to pay for this stupid sports channel we didn't want, and then it doesn't actually work the one time everyone wants it. Such a shame it wasn't on RTE.

For such a monumental moment in Irish sport history it's a shame the whole country couldn't watch, and we had to go to the states to do it lol

Didn't even know this was on :nervous:

Why was it in America?

And yeah India I'd like to see you win at ruggers

Give them a couple of years. Looks like they're well on their way!

That's probably the most mental I've gone sober in my life. I was at the heartbreaking game 3 years ago in Dublin where we threw it away in the 81st minute so this was very satisfying.

The pack were magnificent but surely that cements Conor Murray's place as the best scrum half in the world? Best performance from a 9 in years and years.

He was brilliant.

My dad was at the match in the Aviva that year. Came home broken hearted.

Bloody brilliant win

Well done Ireland!

I'll watch some highlights in a bit, just wondering if all blacks had a full strength side out (not disparaging the Irish win).

Neither side did but NZ were missing several second rows which definitely had a huge impact. We dominated their lineout and up front for large periods. That said, we were without 3 of our biggest forwards in OBrien, OMahony and Henderson, as well as Keith Earls and Paddy Jackson.

Brillian result for Ireland and for Rugby. In other news, Australia's grand slam quest had the perfect start against Wales. 32-8 was the score and it should have been more.

I don't mean this patronisingly but the New Zealand commentators deserve credit for how they called the match. Made a pleasant change from how Eddie Butler could barely speak when Australia scored in the match in Cardiff.

At 33-29, Irish supporters would have been forgiven for having a sense of here we go again. They got painfully close in Dublin three years ago but also very nearly won in Christchurch in 2012, going down by 22-19. Third time lucky in terms of getting close in recent years.

Well done, Ireland, always good to see small teams pull off an upset even when it's an irrelevant friendly. Is the rugby team also like football then? Full of Englishmen not good enough to play for England.

Just watched it after recording it earlier. The Irish were immense and yeah I was feeling like it was deja vu when the AB pulled to within 4 pts but that last try was big. 111 years?
Rugby football, bloody hell!

Ridiculous all-round performance. Super passing, constantly upping the pace, a great try with a snipe and kicking 3 points!!

Pretty good try in that video too to be fair.

Some excellent highlights from Ireland's win over New Zealand. Great commentary from Grant Nisbett, Justin Marshall and Tony Johnson.

0/10 Would not bite. Smells a little bitter.

Excellent result. Was it one of those games where everything goes right or a reflection of how good the Ireland team will be for the next 6 nations ?
I wouldn't say it was an 'everything going right' day. But a lot did go right. However NZ got 3 quick tries, including one which was a worth a longer look about a foot/knee in touch but there was no touchline cam. The most impressive thing though in many ways was our penalty count which was just 4! Remarkable discipline. On the other hand New Zealand's cynicism/ill discipline actually caught up with them, which was refreshing to see. We put 15 points on the board while they had a man in the bin (which could have been a red). Our tries were often set plays off of set pieces whereas I feel theirs were more defensive mistakes/off the cuff

Is this the new Ireland team then and does it look as good as the Grand Slam winners did ?

Carberry looks a serious talent. About time Sexton had an exciting back up.
