Australian Open 2013

Definitely switching this over before Djokovic does his pathetic caveman celebration.

meh, game over. Poor final. Chill out with the injury comments lads, I'm just severely fecked off he's losing. I play a lot of tennis and blisters are hugely painful.

He's done his hamstring, it's pretty obvious. Look how heavy he is on his left side, he's fecked.

Best guy won, that's undeniable. He loves these courts. I really hope Rafa Nadal is back to full fitness for the French.

Murray must feel shit, he really looked like he would do it up to the tiebreak of the second set, Djokovic made alot of unforced errors...

Who is using it as an excuse? He was injured, a blind man on a galloping horse could see he was injured, but obviously Djokovic deserved to win.
I am not denying that, what I mean is even after considering that Djokovic deserved the win.

I thought Novak was very close to Nadal in the French open last year. Gap's only going to be closer this year especially as Nadal has been out for so long.

How do you know though? He deserved it from what we saw, but you've no idea how different it would've been without Murray clearly hamstrung. I think Djokovic probably would have won anyway, he's a machine in the latter stages of matches, but Murray was well in the game and should have been 2 sets up.

Am I saying Djokovic definitely would've won it? All I am saying is "Djokovic deserved to win imo(everything considered)". Stop creating arguments out of a nothing comment.

Murray's 5 setter with Federer compared to Novak's demolition job of Ferrer may have been the difference breaker. But then last year, Novak had a monster semi as well before sealing the deal with that epic final against Nadal. Fitness is part and parcel of the game now. Murray played very well in the tournament though, gonna be a great Tennis year if Nadal makes a good comeback.

I'm not arguing. Jesus Christ, calm down TB. It's only fecking tennis, not like it's football or something important.

Other think about Rafa coming back is that he will be lower in the rankings as he hasn't played for so long. He could be an intruiging 4th round or quarter final opponent at the French!

He's 5th now, behind Ferrer, but Ferrer himself will be a big danger to any of the top guys on his favourite surface.

Nadal slipping to 4th is all part of a grand plan to draw Federer in the 4th round at RG and end his run of Quarter finals.

No word from him pulling a hamstring, it was just sore. They are just talking about the blisters, and every other tennis commentator, expert and ex-players expressing their view after the final didn't notice a big hamstring problem, just said the blisters were bothering him.

I don't believe you could run as hard and accelerate as he did for a whole set when you have 'done your hamstring' as people on here were sugggesting anyway. He was still chasing hard around the court, despite grimacing and walk like Djokovic did against Nadal a couple of years ago in the fifth set of the US Open.

He could have gotten the doctor to treat his hamstring or massage it as professionals athletes will try anything to continue on, but he didn't right? Only treated his foot. Clearly his hamstring wasn't in as bad a state as people on here were suggesting.

It looked pretty obvious to me, the way he pulled up short after stretching on some of his shots. It maybe wasn't as bad as it looked then.

Murray always uses the injury card when he has been outplayed.

You don't move that well with a sprained/twisted ankle but his blisters were very bad and against the best player in the world it would be a struggle...

He isn't as strong as Djokovic, Nadal and Fed mentally and is still yet to prove he can come back from a losing position against the top guys in slams to win a match, like the previous three have done countless times.

Thank god he won the us open because 6/6 losses in slam finals would be a travesty for someone so talented.

Finally some decent enough highlights of the best match of the tournament. Surely an early contender for the best match of the year. Insane level of tennis!
