I think that's that, unless he can pull out 2 Ace's
Surprise surprise, Murray's the biggest bottlejob. Maybe next time people can get all excited about him!
I was half joking. I'm fully aware of the mental pressures of tennis (I play table tennis nationally, which at the top levels is just as difficult mentally). But that set at 5-5 was ridiculous - easy forehands/backhands being netted everywhere.
To call me clueless is a bit stupid.
Can't believe I've wasted my 5k post explaining myself over a joke.

He didn't bottle it, either could have gone through to the final based on that final set. Djokovic had the luck on his side this time.

Prick.
I don't think its a mental job, Murray isn't good enough or better than Djoko, Nadal or Fed.

Novak is an absolute beast at the moment. The guy can outlast Nadal. No surprise Murray couldn't pull it out.
Novak will win the tournament now.
To be fair it didn't come across a joke and at that point they'd been playing for what? Over 4 hours? I don't think any shots are easy shots at that point.
Are you Judy Murray? Can't handle me criticising your son?
Lay off the insults, don't be bitter because your son bottled it.
On his day, he's better than all of them. But he's not got the mental strength needed to win when it's not his day. Djoko, Fed, Nadal - they can all beat others when they're not playing so well. Murray - nah.
Murray will win Wimbledon. Saw it here first.
Nah, I think you're over-rating him now. This was the best I've seen him play, the problem for his that Novak, Nadal and Federer are better than him. He showed great mental strength to come back from 2-5 in the last set or to win the second set after being 2-0 30-0 down on his service.
He is good enough to win a slam. He's just not better than Nadal or Djokovic. Federer, not sure. Probably not.
He didn't bottle it. He came close to beating the greatest player in the world. The standard these guys play to is unreal and bottling it insults are way off. Especially on a forum like this, where football is king.

Hmmm I dunno. That will have taken a lot out of Novak.
And don't assume I'm just an armchair fan. I've played a similar sport to a higher level than most on here have played any sport (including football), so I think I'm qualified to have just as much of an insight on mental performance and the importance of it than most, probably including you.
I was half-joking - I wasn't about them both bottling it at the same time.
Yes, they've both been playing for 4+ hours, with ridiculously long rallies, but the best of the best players can cope with that, and come up with the goods when needed. Murray had so many chances - when do you ever see Djoko missing the shots he did at crucial moments there? But then he flops an easy backhand into the net. Djoko then goes on to win after several other crucial misses.
Murray played well, certainly - but to beat the best (and therefore become the best) you need to pull through moments like that - Djoko, Nadal and Fed have all done that many times before. Can you say the same for Murray?
Stop acting like such a fanny, Ubran-Ned. You looked for a reaction, got one and now we can all move on.
He did. Goes 2-1 up, loses the next 6-1. Pulls back to 5-5, misses 2/3 very easy shots (that he'd make 99 times out of 100) and then loses, despite Djoko faltering a bit too. No matter what way you look at it, Murray through his advantages away - he bottled it.

That means feck all. That's almost like saying we should take Jamie Redknapp or any thick footballers views seriously on football. I'm a serious punter on the horses but I never listen to what jockey's say.
