Australia vs India

Ho ho, who are the whining idiots in defeat now eh? if this were England you'd be having a field day and telling us it's just part of cricket

A couple of bad decisions or not, there's no excuse for losing all your wickets in two sessions

Interesting however, we have to take and accept Clarkes word that he genuinely caught Ganguly out; yet Bhajji's word that he didn't racially abuse Symonds isn't good enough?

Apparently Bhajji called Symonds a monkey..

Anyway dodgy decisions or not, not lasting 2 sessions is pathetic.

We took the England dressing room's word when Pietersen was given out, raised finger and all.:smirk:

In fairness, he probably did call him a monkey. We Indians aren't too racially educated.

Those weren't the only bad decisions.

i hope u remeber whose wikets those were..dravid and ganguly... If i had a test match to save on the last day a guy who can do it for me is dravid.. ganguly is in the form of his life...

We had 8 decisions go against us compared to 1 for Australia. I had gotten over the first day shenanigans by the umpires but those today were not acceptable.

Indian team is/was pretty confident over Bhajji's case. Media may be blowing out of proportion here today but think we will see some interesting sound bytes from Indian camp in coming days.

And I know many here won't get it but Indians calling Symonds money is not racist.

Ah feck it, the series was a disaster from the word go.

It's a shame the Aussies are such an excellent team.Maybe we should ban them from cricket.

Of course it isn't...I'm pretty sure Harbhajan had no idea it would even cause such a furore(if he said it).

Yuvraj, Jaffer and Dhoni were always going to struggle. It was so obvious from the start. Laxman, Sachin and Ganguly are in awesome form right now though. They have been getting themselves out, let's see how they do at Perth.

You're preaching to the converted, I know the umpires favour Australia in a dodgy manner. I'm not saying the umpires are bent (frankly who knows), but the antics the Australian players get up to i.e. appealing every other ball, clearly works in influencing them. The chickens are just coming home to roost because when I moaned as an Englishman, I was told to quit it, that's just part of the game and we weren't good enough anyway! The latter being true, but it would be far more interesting to witness a fair contest now

I wonder if any Indians have ever watched 1 of their home series in the last decade. All of a sudden they come out of the closet complaining about over appealing and dodgy decisions! Im not going to try and defend Bucknor as he is useless. Was horribly bad in 2005 Ashes and has continually got worse. How that is Australias fault I'm not sure.

Clarkes catch was close but he thought he got it. Ive seen Ganguly appeal for one that bounced a foot in front of him so there is a bit of Karma about it. Especially after Pontings non-catch in the first innings when it was just as close...

As for the racism thing

"using language or gestures that offends, insults, humiliates, intimidates, threatens, disparages or vilifies another person on the basis of that person's race, religion, gender, colour, descent, or national or ethic origin."

I dont think he has a leg to stand on.

The WACA should be fun after all these shenanigans.

And where has anyone blamed the Australians for the poor umpiring?

If he said it then he deserved the ban. Not something that anyone can deny.

I'm most disappointed in Yuvraj. Sure we were robbed of this game by the umpires and I don't think any of the Aussies can deny that but we're relying on 4 batsman to do all the batting here.

For next test- Jaffer, Yuvraj, Bhajji, Ishant out
Sehwag, Karthik, VRV and Pathan in

They should have easily batted out for the draw no matter what.

It is spoiling test cricket. The Aussies latest winning run inclues loads of tests against England and South Africa who were both ranked 2nd in the world at the time of the wins.

If Australia replaces Warne they will be virtually unbeatable.

Gilchrist and a few others will retire eventually but I doubt they will be missed that much TBH.

No matter that the two batsmen that looked most likely to be doing just that were given out wrongly?

No matter that the batsman who went on to score 162 was out TWICE before he reached 50 and was not given out and basically saved Australia's ass?

I'm not trying to take anything away from the awesome Aussies but how can you possibly deny that you were greatly assisted by the umpires in this win? It wasn't your fault but hell it sure did happen.

Some rubbish descisions without doubt. I'm just saying that India should still have easily managed the draw.

You should have heard the comments towards Symmonds in Antigua when Pietersen caught him and he didn't walk, not from me and the Barmy Army just the locals...makes those chaps at Anfield seem quite civilised.....!! ;);)

I don;t particular rate the bowling attack. It's a shame the other nations aren't in position to challenge the Aussies.

As for the series, sure there have been some bad decisions, but most umpires favour home sides. I was watching a few India V Pakistan reports/highlights on SSN a few weeks ago, and Pakistan got some rough decisions. Swings and roundabouts, I guess. Oh and Navjot Singh Sidhu was on SSN this morning. . . er all I can say, is he's an interesting bloke.

India should stay in Australia and get something out of the series, I actually think they can.

Bollocks. I have never seen a test with so many bad decisions for one side.

Hehe..Sidhu should join the BBC commentary team.Maybe he should join Tyler and gang at Sky...he's already proved you need no knowledge of the game to comment on it.

Can we just call everybody gimps, and be done with.

It works for noodles

Talk about theories.

"Why do their fielders not chase the ball to the boundary? Why do Indian batsmen rarely run for singles, apparently preferring to hit the ball to the fence or amble through for two runs in no obvious haste?" Anand wrote. "Having too many Brahmans means that you play the game a little too softly, and mostly for yourself."

The man rated India's best fieldsman, Eknath Solkar, is not a Brahmin, nor is Vinod Kambli, a precociously talented batsmen from a "lower" caste, who burst on the scene with Tendulkar when the pair made a world record partnership of 664 as schoolboys. He played the last of his 17 Tests in 1995, despite an average of 54.20 and a highest score of 227.

Despite his talents, Kambli was always booed and mocked at his home ground, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Observers believed it was because of the dark colour of his skin. Not so, says Kambli. "I think it's because of my caste."

Who is this Andrew Stevenson? That's a lot of shit in one article.

An article in reply if anyone's interested.

Nothing beats a good session of effigy burning.

That's a bizarre article. Stevenson's that is.

Why Ponting should be banned

Prem Panicker | January 07, 2008 15:35 IST

Update: Why should Ricky Ponting [Images] not be banned, for a period of five Tests, for unfair practices that contravene the spirit of cricket?

Think back to September 2003, and the Pakistan-Bangladesh series. Then Pakistan captain Rashid Latif was docked for claiming a catch, when the ball had touched the ground. He was suspended for five games -- effectively missing the entire one day series between the two sides.

On that occasion, the match referee while handing out his sentence said: "As captain a lot of responsibility falls of Rashid Latif and he committed a serious offence by claiming that (unfair) catch which constitutes unfair play and a level-three offence of ICC [Images] code of conduct (offensive and penalties). Therefore, the Pakistani captain shall be banned for five one-day internationals."

The match referee was -- surprise, surprise -- Mike Procter no less; the same official currently in the hot seat in the India versus Australia series.

So, again -- if the BCCI is serious about "upholding the honor" of the team and the country, should it not file, with irrefutable video evidence (external link) available by making a simple call to the broadcasters, a complaint against Ponting for unfairly claiming a catch, and further defending his "integrity" and insisting that the catch was 100 per cent fair?

Or does responsibility for ensuring that the game is played in the right spirit merely vest with some captains, but not with others?

I didn't know about Rashid Latif getting banned. Clearly a precedent has been set, and Ponting should receive a similar ban. I do think there's one rule for some nations and another for others.

Let's ban Australia.

Have any of you seen Pontings disputed catch? He dived full stretch and caught it a foot off the ground. He fell to the ground with the ball in his hand and it never left his grasp. The ball touched the whilst still in his hand.

It was given not out even though it was.

Indians are turning into the biggest bunch of sooks ever seen on a sporting arena. Its up there with the Arsenal sooking after we ended their streak.

Go read the rules you idiot. He grounded the ball, that's not out.

You Indians have really taken this loss to heart haven't you?

The ball can touch the ground if you have caught it first you realise...

Anyway Dhoni is a bigger cheat cause it bounced a foot in front of him. Lucky the third umpire was used otherwise he would have had a 5 game holiday. God help the Indians if there are any close catches at the Waca.

I hope Ponting catches one in the first over and does a cartwheel after catching it. Deliberately grounding the ball just to piss you lot off even more.
