Auction Draft Chaos - Complete

I WOULD HAVE SOLD YOUR LERBY!

It wasn't planned. Last minute pick

:nono: Not for you.

But Lerby only costs 10m @Andeva @Ecstatic You probably can carry over the remaining to next round if you win.

Not for those sold to bank for less.

Now, I understand why GodShaveTheQueen's preferred to see Cristiano sold to the bank instead of negotiating the price and why you/Enigma didn't want to disclose the list of players to be sold.

Was on phone and per draft rules, I can sell after my bid was successful. There was no reason to sell first. Anyway, I wasn't selling anyone to bank for below base price, so it doesn't really apply to me.

It doesn't matter at all, the reinforcement round wasn't competitive at all

Let’s think about how we should do reinforcements for next time we do auction drafts.. Maybe higher budgets? Unlimited amount of reinforcements?

I would say no penalties in the reinforcement round to selling to the bank and a slightly higher budget.

Unlimited reinforcement womt help when most of us can barely afford 3 across the whole round.

I think there should be no limit in RR as it defies the point of the round. Many can sell their best player and get 4-5 cheaper players in.

11 players minimum, no need for subs. Selling back to the bank should receive a 10-20m punishment as it is now. Maybe increase the budgets in the next 2 RR - first as it is 50m, then 70m then 90m for the final. Otherwise I think this format looks best so far.

I thought Indnyc was something like Indiana New York City, you know a pure liberal American who believes in the Invisible Hand... but, no! You're a pure Soviet communist.

The rules regarding budget considerations are excellent really.

The constraints regarding # of active bids per manager and size of a team should be scrapped, especially given the fact there are some guys on waiting mode

So the solution is to keep a limited # of player on the paperboard, say 30.

My 1st intention was to manipulate the market and submit 7 players at once.

:(

Okay so you spent an extra 20m. That doesn't change the point.
I know, and I’m only winding you up really but the budget was the budget. I had a few lineups I liked but was 10m short so couldn’t use it and looked at other options, there’s literally hundreds of players to choose from.

I thought that was part of the challenge and fun of it

I know but this is us discussing how to improve the auction draft in the future.

One suggestion I wanted to put forward is 'matching the bid'.

Lots of players/bids went unchallenged because people could afford them at base but not more (especially by the end of the draft).

So whoever bid first got him.

If someone matches your original bid, you have three options:

1. Increase your bid.
2. Both of you remain at the same bid and the player is blocked.
2. Drop your bid (the person who matched then gets the player. If he matched just to block the player, you can drop the bid and he is struck with an unwanted player).

Nah, that doesn't make sense mate. It's like ebay, when you get there first and you put a bid in no one can match you, but rather have to increase it. I'd rather it stay the same for future auctions.

I thought it was good as it was. As EAP said, people will be looking at different positions in reinforcement round so that’s a reasons that there will not be as much up bidding. Having more money to reinforce would more than likely just increase the level of player bought, not the level of outbidding.
Teams would just end with more goats than just good players, if you think that’s an improvement, it’s a matter of opinion
