Serves him right eh Jay?
attack the day!
Surely if there was no space defence, one would not have to attack the space? Merely walk into it. The very suggestion of attacking implies a space defence we have overlooked.
Too true.
And once you do attack the space, do you defend it or attack another space?
These are questions, the answers of which will define us.

Has anyone considered the equally important concept of 'defending the space'?
Never. It would be impossible. Space exists to be attacked.

Should you just stand in the space you have attacked? If everyone else attacks space, won't the pitch be be covered with players each in their own space, with no spare space to attack?
Stalemate then, would it mean a replay at a neutral venue or something?
As time went on, all matches would end in a stalemate, end of football as we know it...
I hate to say it, but Boss has got a lot to answer for...
So the aim is to attack the space and then to attack the next space that get's you closer to goal. And so on and so forth.
Don't lose hope. We're getting somewhere.

But what happens once you reach the goal?!
But what happens once you reach the goal?!
Look the only person whom I've ever heard speak of defending the space is named Rafa and he's out of a job.
Space is too vast and undefined to defend, attempting to do so will drive you mad. It exists to be attacked, not defended. One can only defend against those who are attacking the space.
One simply cannot attack something that has no defence, such an act would not be an attack. You would simply claim the space, squatters rights etc. To exert force implies there exists something there that requires the use of force in order to achieve the goal of an attack.
Space naturally defends itself. We exert force against, or attack for the lay people, space precisely because of its nature.
For example, the nation of Russia, and indeed the former Soviet Union, exists within a vast space. Many have naturally decided, quite rightly, to attack this space (Napoleon, Hitler) as space, by definition, exists to be attacked.
Did the armies of the Czars and Stalin defend against the invading hordes? No, the let the space do what it does best; defend. This comes naturally to space. As has been mentioned now, eventually, attacking the space means we are left with no space to attack and we are defeated. The space relies on its natural characteristics to beguile the attacker into submission. Indeed, only the very best are able to attack space and be successful. Most fizzle out, lost among the wilderness they suddenly find themselves in. That wilderness is known as space. Attack it or die.
No it does not, sir. Look at that thing called Arsenal FC. They don't have any space defenders at least not ones who can defend it well, hence their space is violated at will now a days with no one to defend it. Hence, no natural defense.
Can anyone explain the attacking/defending of space that occurred during the Russia vs Ireland match. I feel Dunne came about as close to defending the space as anyone ever could.
Does invading space counts? I always do that when I'm drunk.
